Ishikawa-based chat with an English man. This is not a podcast about Japan, it is a podcast made and released by a tired man living in Ishikawa, Japan. Some people think it is funny, other people don't understand the jokes, which are you? It is released whenever I please. Join me, as I slowly deteriorate in front of/beside your ears.

Hello. Not much has happened in the world has it? Well, despite the utter boringness of everything everywhere I've managed to excrete another podcast. If you haven't got anything better to do, and frankly, why would you, you should listen to this. It's not good, it's not even okay, but it IS. So... dive in. Remember, I love you x

EPISODE.
Here we go! Over an hour and a half of PURE PODCASTING old. You can see a transcript below I think, so just read that if you want to know more about the content. Suffice to say, I discuss (with myself) house purchasing woes, Yuki's development, a collection of podcasters, beer, jazz, why I stay in Japan, and of course there's a really really shit poem. Plus classroom-based violence and an album that got me through my 30s.
I love you.

But for how long...?
I don't know what episode number this, and neither do I care. It's been a while. I've forgotten more than I spoke about, but speak I did. Ignore the bizarre intro, I wrote that while sleep deprived. Anyway, here it is in all it's glory...epiosde, this one!

Episode who knows?
Trigger Warning: There is some miscarriage chat in this episode.
I am again too tired to reasonably expect to record a decent podcast, but I went ahead anyway. When you have a 1 year-old who wakes up ayt 4am every day, you're gonna be tired. I talk a lot about a lot of dofferent things and I cough A LOT, also I'm not entirely convinced I didn't fall asleep at one point. Excited yet? Listen, and be completely nonplussed!

Episode...an episode.
This week/time Joe is, you guessed it, tired. But he's also ill with suspected illness. So much so that he has most probably surpassed any previous levels of aural lethargy and plunged new depths of podcasting. That's for you to decide. So do. Look, I'm no less tired writing this than I was recording it...maybe just give it a listen eh?

Episode 5 of the NEW DAWN
This...week? Month? Joe talks extensively about nothing much and everything. He berates Twitter trolls, besorrys a couple of people (you included), bethanks a couple more, and generally goes on a bit too long about inconsequential things. He reads a long poem and says other words in sequences often referred to as 'sentences'.

Hello. This is the fourth epsiode of the New Era.
I talk about beer, about houses, about music, about lightbulb theft, about babies, and about beer again. It's quite beery. Sorry.
It's good though, hopefully.

Episode 3 of the New Dawn.
I'm tired. Too tired. It's a theme. It's a...way. The Way of the Tired. Join me, in a tiredness and beer induced delerious stumble through some badly thought through answers to listeners' questions, a frankly lacklustre IYA, a rushed reminiscence, and a carefully written but badly executed poem. Thankfully I saved you a long rant about the psychology og Twitter...

Ep.1
Well, here it is, Episode ONE of the new-look I:StoS. Joe is going solo, and because of that I reckon I can stop referring to myself in the third person. In this episode, you can hear about things that were current last week because I had to wait a week before I could release it. There's a poem, and an IYA, but not as you know it. There's no quiz...but there might be a new feature (I can't remember).

The Final Episode?
Episode in
Ishikawa: Summit to Sea
Well, the day has finally come. Actually it came several days ago, but I've only just got around to editing it. Yes, Casey is leaving these four aural walls and aural roof in order to persue his true love, chickens. Also, he will continue recording some podcast or other (I can't remember the name of it), and will slip into his new role as overlord at the place where he and I work together like Shrek slips into Cinderella's glass slipper. I wish him luck in that, as I must do according to the new contracts he drew up for all his underlings, of which I am now one. He also stipulates that we should never mention his eyebrows and lack thereof, and that socks must never be worn regardless of your footwear. He's very strict on that.
This run-of-the-mill episode features guest appearances from Brian 'Muddy' Waters, Bobby 'Bobby' Judo, and Smith 'Tanaka' And. We obviously talk about beer, there's about 3 minutes'-worth of cringey sincerity, 4 piss breaks, a lacklustre quiz (we wouldn't have it any other way), some terrible IYAs, multiple crass jokes, over 2 and a half hours of frankly boring content that could have been wrapped up in 30 minutes, as I said, we wouldn't have it any other way, and not one, not two, but FOUR poems.
I (Joe) will be back soon with something. It will be I:StoS. In the meantime, find me on the J-Pops!
I love you x

Episode. number....something.
Firstly, apologies for the delay, illness and distance are our excuses this time. Joe is still in England, and Casey is still in...fluenza. There is plenty of UK chat, Yuki chat, yucky chat, and Yucca plants are firmly off the agenda. There's an appearance from The Cranberries, a heartwarming tale, a quiz about mo mo money, and a poem about identity.

Episode 119
The dispatches from England are growing further apart given Joe's extremely busy schedule, but the duo has once again been reunited for another scintillating episode. Joe's lovely parents make an aural appearance, Joe definitely didn't have covid, Joe ate some cakes, Joe's at his brother's chasmic country estate, Gorgonella is being attacked by mystery bugs, and something something about Casey. There's a poem that rehashes the first thirty minutes of the show, and then Joe offers up a genuinely fantastic quiz that briefcaseycologicalifornia passes by the skin of his teeth. And of course, areas are thoroughly delved. Enjoy!

Episode 117 (You're welcome, Joe.)
Joe's got the pre-flight jitters on this eve-of-travel showdown. As such, there's no quiz, there is a poem, there are no areas. Rather, the guys recount their moment in the sun when podcast non-listener Bobby Judo came to town over the weekend, and much fun was had by all. Joe reads a eulogistic poem about that big tree that some dumb kid chopped down, and there are some good tidings for safe travel proffered. And that's it, a tidy hour and nine minutes. Enjoy.

Who is Edward Lear?!
Episode in
Ishikawa: Summit to Sea
Episode I don't even know anymore.
This fortnight is jam-packed. Joe reveals he's had several little pricks in him over the last few days, which makes Casey feel a bit sick. Of course beer is reviewed. There are TWO poems, but don't worry, Casey didn't write either of them. The quiz is heavily under the influence, and despite being clean for 42 years Joe does surprisingly well on certain questions. Casey is caught doing something illicit, and the IYAs feature very little air to breathe and an old man who's run out of puff, but don't worry, there is a happy ending. Not that kind.
