Jobs Outside the Box

Episode 10 shares the story of a female-owned business created by Heather Holloway. She is the founder of Holloway Media Services, a social media marketing agency that's now 4 years old and successfully growing to work with a variety of clients across industries. Heather figured out how to leverage her previous work experience in audio and media production and her education to become an entrepreneur and have her own company.  

Episode 9 shares the story of Blythe Hooker, an independent marketing manager and a traveler who is passionate about experiencing all life has to offer.  She shares the realities of how she's been able to live life of a digital nomad - how she's been able to create a career that allows her to live anywhere in the world she chooses.

Episode 8 highlights the story of the company Marengo, a business dedicated to connecting executive coaches with clients. Founder Blaire Fernandez shares her story, and the reasons behind taking a big risk to start her own company and follow her passion. 

Episode 7 shares the story of Jenna and Micah Kvidt, owners of Kvidt Creative, a production company specializing in photography and videography. They work with large tourism and travel agencies and corporate clients across the U.S.  Jenna and Micah share how they were able to transform their own careers and use their talents to start their own company.  (www.micahkvidt.com, www.wanderthemap.com )

Episode 6 highlights interviewee Nienke Krook's story. She is a successful travel blogger, the creator and producer of three websites - The Travel Tester, The London Tester, The Space Tester, and she also is a Social Media Manager for StoneCycling.  Nienke shares her story about how she got started, how she learned about making income from her blog, and how she formed her own path in this industry. 

Episode 5 is focused on the craft beverage industry. Interviewee Lindsay Dorrier is a Senior Brand Manager at Bold Rock Hard Cider.  Bold Rock is now a part of the umbrella of Artisanal Brewing Ventures brands which include Victory Brewing, Southern Tier Brewing, and Sixpoint Brewing. He shares his story and how he transitioned from a career in the music industry into craft beverage. 

Episode #4 is the story of a young, mid-20s entrepreneur who is pursuing her own startup company, Trek Gum. (www.trekgum.com) Emily shares how she arrived at the decision to begin her own company, what's great about it, as well as some of the challenges she faces in this career choice. 

Episode #3 is focused on balancing motherhood with a rewarding career. Interviewee Jenni Figueiredo Bingham previously worked in the beauty and PR worlds in NYC, and figured out a way to use that skillset in a rewarding career for a nonprofit organization called Project Glimmer - www.projectglimmer.org , where she serves as Deputy Director. Her career provides her with challenging and rewarding work while also the flexibility to ensure quality time with her husband and three children. 

Episode #2 is focused on having a lifestyle balance. Interviewee Genevieve Essig has crafted her own schedule to continue doing environmental law work while also having space for her creative projects like background work in Film & TV, and writing historical murder mystery novels.

Episode #1 features an outside-the-box job in education. Dave has found a way to continue working in the education field but to do that outside of more traditional jobs he previously held in teaching and administration.  His job allows him to work for himself, help consult and coach teachers/administrators, & travel and work from the location of his choosing.
