Co-hosts Poland played Greece and Russia took on the once-mighty Czechs on day one, and both matches were full of surprises. After a few weeks off, the boys catch up on all the end-of-season news from the English leagues, as well as the European highlights. There’s an assessment of Arsenal’s fortunes and commiserations for Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves as they wave goodbye to the Premiership for now. Coming bang up-to-date, the boys muse over Scotland’s resounding beating at the hands of the on-form USA and Roy Hodgson’s first game at the helm of the England team. Then it’s goodbye for now. The season’s over, but the football rolls on. The boys will be back during Euro 2012 to report on events in Poland and Ukraine, and keep us up-to-date with the Olympic football from London. New England manager Roy Hodgson leads the news this week, as the boys offer a lukewarm assessment of his career so far and his chances of progressing the national team through Euro 2012. A no-surprises round-up of the Premiership scores leads into a prediction for the 131st FA Cup Final. There’s news of the Manchester derby spoiled by childish behaviour by the City manager and a look at the league placings. Predictions for the rest of the week take us to a quick report on Saturday’s games before Joseph and Thomas bid us farewell for another week. See you back here soon!

Trouble at the top in this week’s lead story, as Barcelona’s run of losses extends to their manager Pep Guardiola. There were upsets at Friday Football too, as Joseph out-scored his brother by five goals alongside a Strathblane-based dream team that won every match. Results from the Champions’ League are followed by a mid-Saturday roundup of the latest scores from the Premiership, and  the semi-finals of the Europa League. The boys give a special sporting shout-out to one podcast listener on his last game of the season and ponder both poor Wolves, facing up to relegation despite an amazing fight back against Swansea and Wigan, discovering their strength just in time to save themselves from the big drop. This week the boys discuss all the news in the world of football, (apart from Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat by Wigan), starting off with reaction to the Champions’ League semi-finals that included a spectacular win for Chelsea. The Stamford Bridge side steal the show in the FA Cup news too, with their 5-1 win over Spurs leading the results. The very latest from Saturday’s games leads into a discussion of Newcastle’s chances of European competition, results from the Europa league and a look ahead to big matches on Sunday. Thomas and Joseph briefly sum-up their own performances at Friday football before bidding us farewell, until next week!

Normal service is resumed as Thomas rejoins his brother Joseph for the podcast. The duo report on the mounting tension in the English Premier League with stories of dramatic comebacks and mass celebrations for Wigan fans. Liverpool book a place in the FA Cup final and Manchester City set their sights on League glory with a return to for for Tevez. Over in Europe, things hot up in the Champions’ League and the boys offer their predictions for the semi-finals. Looking ahead, big games in the Premiership for this week include a clash between the brothers’ favourites Arsenal and on-fire Wigan. A comfortable win is predicted. Medical matters cast a long shadow over the footballing world this week, as Aston Villa’s Stiliyan Petrov becomes the latest top-flight player to face a battle with a serious health condition. The boys discuss a possible liver transplant for Barcelona’s Eric Abidale and bring the latest news from Bolton’s Fabrice Muamba as he recovers from his cardiac arrest. On a much lighter note, with the Easter holidays bringing a break from Friday Football and Midnight League, it’s all talk and no action this week. Joseph and Thomas bring you the very latest Champions’ League scores and offer their predictions for the upcoming Premier League clashes.
