13 - The Self-Improvement Trap: Stop Trying to Fix Yourself

Episode in Just Minhaz
What if constantly trying to improve yourself is actually keeping you stuck? It's easy to fall into a cycle of consuming more information, creating new plans, buying another course and convincing yourself that you're making progress - while avoiding the uncomfortable part: actually living differently. I've been caught in that cycle myself. I've built entire 90-day plans that made perfect sense and then never followed through with them. The planning felt productive, but it wasn't changing my life. But there's an even deeper trap: believing that the next goal will finally make you feel okay. The money. The career. The relationship. The freedom. The version of yourself you're trying to become. In this episode, I share what I learned from a period of my life when I hated my job and constantly wanted to escape it - and how learning to find peace in the present changed the way I approached ambition, growth and my own emotions. This isn't about giving up on your goals. It's about pursuing them without expecting them to resolve everything happening inside you. You can still want more from life without believing you need more before you're allowed to be okay. Free training — Stepping Into Tension: https://steppingintotension.kit.com/sit

12 - Why You Keep Becoming the Person You Thought You Outgrew

Episode in Just Minhaz
Why do we sometimes make huge progress, only to suddenly feel like we've become the person we thought we'd already outgrown? In this episode, I break down why familiar environments and triggers can bring old identities, behaviours and thought patterns back to the surface — and why that doesn't mean you've lost your progress. We talk about the battle between the old story and the person you're becoming, why changing your environment alone isn't enough, and how repeatedly choosing differently when the old identity gets triggered is what creates lasting change. The old story may still show up. You get to decide whether you continue living it. Free training — Stepping Into Tension: steppingintotension.kit.com/sit

11 - Why You Keep Going Back to Your Old Self

Episode in Just Minhaz
Your mind will do everything it can to keep you inside the story you already know. The moment you try to change your life, take a risk, build something, become more confident, or step into a new version of yourself, discomfort shows up. Doubt shows up. Fear shows up. And if you keep treating those feelings like a sign to stop, you'll keep repeating the same chapter. In this video, I break down why change can feel so wrong even when you know it's what you want, why motivation isn't something you should rely on, and why learning to step into tension is one of the most important skills you can build. The goal isn't to feel ready. The goal is to move anyway. If you're tired of knowing what you need to do but still holding yourself back, this episode is for you. 10 - Almost 31… And I'm Starting Again

Episode in Just Minhaz
I've been gone for a while. A lot has changed. I got married, became a husband, a father and a stepdad, moved three times, changed the way I work, and somewhere in the middle of all of it, I struggled to stay committed to a dream I've carried with me for over 10 years. This isn't a perfectly structured video or some polished comeback. It's just me being honest about where I am, what I've been struggling with, the man I'm trying to become, and why I've decided it's time to start again. For myself. For the people I hope to serve. And maybe one day, for my son to look back on. I don't know exactly where this is going. But this is day one, not one day. Bismillah.

09 - You Are Not Your Thoughts (This Is Why Change Feels So Hard)

Episode in Just Minhaz
About ten years ago, I read The Power of Now. That was the first time I heard someone say, you are not your thoughts. At the time, it sounded confusing. I was literally living in my head. Over the years, I realised how deep this really goes. Your mind isn't who you are. It's a system designed to keep you safe by keeping you the same. That's why change feels so uncomfortable. That's why fear, doubt, and overthinking show up the moment you try to do something different. In this video, I talk about: - What "you are not your thoughts" actually means in real life - Why your mind fights change even when you want it - How your past shapes the stories you keep repeating - Why motivation and confidence aren't required to act - Why small steps matter more than big ones - How to train yourself to lean into discomfort instead of running from it This isn't a motivational video. It's a practical way of understanding your mind so you stop being controlled by it. If you're someone who thinks deeply, doubts yourself often, and keeps feeling pulled back to the same place, this message is for you. Watch it slowly. Let it land. Drop a comment if this resonated. I'll see you in the next one.

08 - You're Not Lazy. You're Freezing Because Change Feels Unsafe

Episode in Just Minhaz
I planned to record this video. And then I froze. That's the irony. This video is about that moment. The moment you know what you want to do, you even have a plan, and yet something in you shuts down. You tell yourself stories: I'm tired. I didn't sleep well. I'll do it tomorrow. But the truth is simpler and harder to accept. Your mind is doing its job. It's trying to keep you safe by keeping you the same. Even if the life you're living right now is making you miserable. In this video, I talk honestly about: - Why freezing isn't laziness or self-sabotage - How overthinking keeps you stuck in a loop - Why using your mind to "think your way out" doesn't work - What actually has to happen for change to take place - Why fear, panic, and chaos are part of growth - Why waiting to feel ready keeps you trapped This isn't a scripted video. I didn't even follow my bullet points. I spoke from experience, because I've lived this pattern for years. If you're someone who thinks deeply, analyses everything, and keeps watching others move forward while you stay stuck, this video is for you. If this resonates, drop a comment. It helps me understand who I'm speaking to and what you're dealing with. You can also DM me on Instagram. And if you want to go deeper, there's a free email series linked below where I share 30 personal lessons on building real confidence, not the fake kind. Watch this properly. And I'll see you in the next one.

07 - Chasing Success Won't Fix What You're Avoiding Inside

Episode in Just Minhaz
The other day a brother stopped me after prayer to sell me a perfume. We didn't talk about the product much. We talked about life. About ambition. About anxiety. About carrying weight you don't know how to put down. He told me his biggest weakness was perfectionism. But what I saw was something deeper. A lot of men believe that once they get the money, the confidence, the status, or the success, everything inside them will finally settle. It doesn't. I've seen men making 10K a month who didn't want to be alive anymore. I've seen ambition hide anxiety. I've seen strength hide loneliness. This video is a reminder most men never get. Success can change your circumstances, but it won't heal what you're avoiding. Chasing harder doesn't fix what's broken inside. In this episode, I talk about: - Why ambition can feel heavy instead of exciting - The lie men believe about money and worth - Why perfectionism is often anxiety in disguise - When getting a job is the right move, not a failure - How to pursue goals without being enslaved by them - Why peace is an inside job, always has been This isn't anti-success. This is about building a foundation that doesn't collapse when pressure hits. If this resonates, sit with it. Watch it again if you need to. More videos and podcast episodes coming. 06 - This Is Why You Freeze When It's Time to Take Action

Episode in Just Minhaz
Most people don't stay stuck because they're lazy or undisciplined. They stay stuck because the moment it's time to take action, something in them freezes. If you overthink everything If you keep waiting to feel ready If you know what you should be doing but still don't do it If time keeps passing and nothing really changes, this video is for you. I'm breaking down what's actually happening in your mind when you freeze, why anxiety shows up right before growth, and how overthinking slowly turns into self-sabotage. The uncomfortable truth is this: The clarity you're waiting for doesn't come before action. It comes after. In this video, I talk about: - Why does your mind panic when you try to change - How thinking too much keeps you stuck - Why motivation never shows up first - What growth really feels like when you're doing it properly This isn't motivation. It's reality. If you're tired of staying in your head and want to move forward, watch this properly. I'll be dropping more videos and podcast episodes every week. Subscribe if this resonates.

05 - I Married Her After 4 Days (Here's Why I Don't Regret It)

Episode in Just Minhaz
I got married 4 days after meeting my wife. Yeah, I know how that sounds - CRAZY! So in this video I'm breaking down: - how it happened - why I made that decision - what most people get wrong about "waiting until you're ready" - and how faith changes the way you approach big life decisions A lot of people think marriage needs months or years of "getting to know each other" before you commit. I don't agree, not the way most people do it today. Once I started taking Islam seriously, I had to be honest about what I was actually following, and what I was just doing because it's normal in culture. And if you're Muslim, you already know culture can make marriage unnecessarily complicated. This isn't me saying marriage is easy. It's not. It's challenging, it exposes you, and it forces you to grow. But I'm tired of people acting like there's a perfect time, a perfect setup, a perfect level of money, and a perfect "readiness" that you're meant to reach before you do what you already know you need to do. If you're speaking to someone and you know the next step is marriage, but fear, family pressure, or culture is keeping you stuck, this episode will hit. Drop a comment and let me know your thoughts, even if you disagree. I'll see you in the next episode!

04 - I Was Wrong About Confidence… Here's The Truth

Episode in Just Minhaz
Most people wait for the moment they stop feeling afraid before they finally take action. That moment never comes. Confidence doesn't appear until you move. You build it while the fear is still there. In this episode, I talk honestly about rebuilding my own confidence… showing up again after losing my rhythm… and why fear doesn't disappear, no matter how much experience you have. You get better at handling the storm inside your chest. If you keep waiting to "feel ready," this will make things clear for you. In this episode: - Why fear never fully goes away - Why confidence is built through repetition - What happens inside your body when you try to change - Why your mind tries to pull you back - How to act even when you feel anxious - Rebuilding momentum after falling off Simple, direct, straight from my experience. Hope it gives you the push you've been avoiding.

03 - I Lost Myself Trying to Be the Man Everyone Wanted

Episode in Just Minhaz
In this episode, I talk about how people pleasing slowed down my goals and pulled me away from who I wanted to become. Marriage exposed the part of me that kept shifting myself to be accepted instead of choosing someone who would value me as I am. I also share how my growth in Islam made me step back from the content I was making because it no longer aligned with the direction of my life. The message is simple. When you change yourself to keep the peace you lose the man you are meant to grow into. This episode is the start of choosing honesty over approval.

343 - You're Not Lazy, You're Just Afraid

Episode in Just Minhaz
Have you ever called yourself lazy because you couldn’t get started or stick to your goals? What if the problem isn’t laziness—but fear? In this episode, I share how I uncovered the real reason behind procrastination, self-doubt, and overwhelm. Spoiler: It’s not about being unmotivated; it’s about your subconscious trying to protect you. We’ll reframe laziness as a mask for fear, explore how fear shows up in sneaky ways, and talk about how to stop judging yourself for it. I’ll also give you practical tools to work with your mind instead of against it - like breaking big goals into smaller, safer steps and affirming that growth is safe. By the end of this episode, you’ll see fear not as a barrier but as a sign that you’re growing. Tune in and discover how to move past the resistance that’s been holding you back. - What’s one fear you can reframe as an opportunity today? 338 - I Have To Be Honest With You Guys..

Episode in Just Minhaz
‘What is my niche?’ This one thought created a lot of problems for me as a content creator and educator! Every “business guru” out there is saying you have to niche down to make money and, ‘if you chase two rabbits, you catch none.’ So I niched down, again and again, and again!! Until I hated what I was doing! -_- I mean, this is what they say I need to do to make money, so I don’t have a choice right? WRONG! I built my personal brand ‘Just minhaz’ talking about whatever I wanted to!! And I made a lot of money doing so (£50K+ over the space of 2 years) Alhamdullilah. But yet, I lost myself to the “business” advice again and I niched down. Lord have mercy!! I literally built a completely separate page on Instagram/TikTok/YouTube and a separate podcast channel for it. I hired two new team members and doubled down on it completely! We went flat out a built a free course to collect email leads for potential clients and a free community to join on Skool. It took me and my team 1 year to do this and It was a lot of work, and a LOT of money spent! After 30 days of launching this community (27 members on board) and posting content everyday without fail, I REALISED, I HATED IT! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (My frustration was real!) I can’t live my life like this, where I have now created another job which means nothing to me but the financial gains. So, we start again! I wiped it all clean, and made the decision to go solo again and had a quarter life crisis. LOL This left me with the question: ‘How do I build something that makes me excited and makes me money?!’ I was determined to figure this out! And little did I know, the answer was right in front of me. The way I built my personal brand ‘Just Minhaz’ was the answer. I used to share all the things that changed my life and not just approach everything with the intention of ‘how do I make money?’ It excited me and scared the life out of me at the same time as I shared my real life experiences and mistakes along the way. BUT, there was no structure and systems involved! I was winging it completely and financially it was a mess. I have learnt a lot this year and baby I’m back!!!!!! And we about to do things a whole new way, Alhamdullilah. What is my niche? It’s me :) Self-development, healing, relationships, fitness and most importantly faith, Alhamdullilah. I feel free to be myself and most importantly I will lead by example. That means, I have to improve my life in the areas that I want to and that is my job! Ya Allah sign me upppppp! For those of you who have a message to share with the world and want to make a career out of it - remember this, ‘Your mess is your message and your pain is your power!’ "Your mess is your message and your pain is your power" means that the difficult experiences and struggles you face in life, often considered "messy" or painful, can be transformed into a powerful message or purpose that can help others who might be going through similar situations Your hardships can become a source of strength and wisdom to share with others. YOU ARE THE NICHE! P.S. bun anyone who says otherwise! In this context, "bun" is likely British or Caribbean slang meaning to dismiss, reject, or disregard someone or something. The phrase "bun anyone who says otherwise" suggests ignoring or rejecting those who disagree with the author's perspective on finding one's niche. P.P.S. I am removing all the random members that joined my community and reopening it with courses on healing, self improvement, relationships and my favourite - business! Click here to let me know that you’re interested in joining and I’ll add you to the waiting list. Peace & Love my beautiful peeeps! Your brother from another mother, Minhaz Ahmed.

Ultimately, money cannot be your sole reason for getting a job. Especially in the world we live in today, where people are doing whatever they want and making a living from it. And for those of you who believe that you have to suffer and grind to make a living, that will be true for you. I choose otherwise!
