A few weeks ago I got the absolute pleasure of meeting Kathy while we were getting our certifications for Myers Briggs. We spent four days together learning and I was captivated by her story and how articulate she was about curating it. She uses her past experiences as a tv news anchor and investigative reporter, chief communications officer of her alma mater – Florida A&M University, president and CEO of the largest journalism organization of color, the National Association of Black Journalists, and college lecturer to assist organizations and executives with developing strategic solutions for some of their most pressing communications challenges. With a passion to improve people and organizations, Rod has worked in organizational development and leadership programming positons in a variety of industries including manufacturing, services, and higher education.
Rod is the founder and Lead Ninja of Down, Set, Lead; a strategic consulting group focused on helping organizations grow their business and people through coaching, training and mentoring. He is also the Project Director for Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses program in Baltimore.
Rod’s career started in HR and included progressive positions at London Fog, USF&G Insurance, Renaissance Hotels, and Rite Aid. He then spent 14 years as the Coordinator of Organizational and Professional Development at Harford Community College, where he designed, coordinated and delivered professional training; planned and facilitated professional conferences; and ran two professional associations: the Susquehanna Professional Association of Nonprofits (SPAN) and the Susquehanna Human Resource Association (SHRA).
In the community Rod serves as a mentor and coach; he is the former President and a current board member of the MA & PA Heritage Trail Foundation; and in 2008 founded Anna’s Guys, a collection of men who work with abused and sheltered children. He also founded and oversees the annual Catch A Pig 5k, having raising over $50k for the local Boys & Girls Clubs.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Towson University, and a Masters of Organizational Development from Johns Hopkins University. He was voted commencement speaker for his Harford Leadership Academy class.
Rod is a native Marylander and enjoys various outdoor activities, traveling and gastronomic pursuits. He now lives in Dundalk and tries to keep pace with his wife Kim, a psychotherapist, and their two kids.

This week's episode is an incredibly honest conversation about finances! Nieleh Wilcots is a financial coach with her company Penny Perspective. She has a background in bookkeeping and has always enjoyed keeping track of and reconciling the flow of money. Nieleh has had her own financial struggles. In the past, she tried hard to figure out how to substantially grow in the area of her finances, even on a moderate income. She figured out that it starts with intentionally making the most of what you have right now. After 2 years & 9 months, she paid off $101,500 of debt. Together, her natural bookkeeping abilities and her experience in getting her own financial life in order have led her to help others manage their money in a way that leads to financial growth.

She is also an Author, International Motivational Speaker, and Speech Coach. Ms. Kahn has been an educator for the last 20 years teaching Public Speaking, English as Second Language in colleges and high schools throughout Southern CA. Several years ago, she attended her first TedX conference in Pasadena. She was immediately drawn into the Tedx fever.
Rosalyn worked on the experiential committee of TEDx and thereafter followed her expertise to coach ten TEDx speakers from Nov. to present. Rosalyn spoke over three times beginning in 2013 “Language comes to Life.” 2015 “Coming Around the Curve” and “Breaking Cultural Barriers. She began her business Coaching and Professional Speaking nearly three years ago. Rosalyn has trained thousands of students and worked with individuals from a wide span from teens to business executives to improve their presentation skills to improve their earnings. Ichko Batmunkh - Unleash Your Gift

This episode was a few weeks in the making! Ichko Batmunkh is a life purpose and mindset coach. She is on a mission to help women to heal their past, own self-worth, unleash their full potential and gifts, and as a result, gain confidence, clarity, and direction. We met and connected on so many levels and I have been incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to collaborate with her on some projects.
She struggled with her career and faced obstacles alone and felt lost and wished she had someone to guide her (SAME).
