Living Baani

This is the introductory episode of the new series “Where Do You Get Your Sikhi From?” In this series, we bring Sikhi parchaar back to its roots by connecting Sikhi with how it is supposed to be through the panthic sources. These sources, which have been an inspiration to Puratan Gursikhs in how to live Sikhi, have been left unspoken about by the ‘modern’ Parchaar of Sikhi which seems to disconnect it from its roots.  In this series we ask, “Where do you get your Sikhi from?” Is it from your mind, or from the lineage of inspirational Gursikhs? We hope this series will bring clarity to a new generation of Sikhs who want to connect back to their roots and the true roots of Sikhi.

In this episode of Reflections on Sikhi, we explore whether the concept of “manifestation” as taught today is compatible with Sikhi.  Some Sikhs quote Gurbani that seem to be open to the idea of taking control and manifesting your life. However, is this what Gurbani truly saying, or has it been quoted out of context? All of these questions are explored in this recording.

This is the last Living Baani Podcast for 2023 and sums up what Living Baani is about and how we need to shift from “Sikh-ism” to living Sikhi. The difference is tremendous!

In this 3rd Episode of the Understanding Gurmat Series, we will be looking into the Miracle of Amrit, the Nectar of Immortality that was Blessed to us by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. 

This is the 2nd episode of the Understanding Gurmat series.  In this episode, we discuss the importance of the Guru and the Greatness of the Guru in taking us out of ignorance. 

This is the first episode of the new series called Understanding Gurmat. Gurmat is a combination of two words ‘Gur’ which means the Guru / Teaching and ‘Mat’ which means the lens through which you see the world. Therefore Gurmat means seeing the world through the lens of the Guru’s Teachings.  In this episode, the importance of Jap (repetition of the Name of God) and its link to reading Gurbani (Teachings of the Gurus). It is the intention of this series to explore all the different concepts in Spirituality through the eyes of the Guru.  By Guru’s Grace may this series be of help in serving the understanding of Gurbani. 

This is the formal announcement in the form of a reflection of Living Baani changing it’s direction fully to Sikhi and Gurmat along the lines laid down by the Gurus, the Mahapurkhs (Saints, past and present), and Rehni and Kamayee-wale (those who live the life) Gursikhs. I, myself, am just an ant sharing these crumbs that have fallen from the table of these great Gursikhs. May Sangat Ji place their hands on this fool’s head and do ardaas and benti to Guru Sahib that he is able to be of some use to Sangat Ji through what is shared here by Guru Sahib’s Grace. 🙏🏼
