Step 1, Get Captured When last we left our heroes it was after successful completion of a Lifeday mission on Darkmoon.  But their troubles with Eno, Vhatiz Zissk and the Blackwings continue, as they are assigned a new mission to earn their freedom. Splitting the Party, The Cardinal Sin! The Whiskey Rebellion crew is about to make a bold move.  Let’s see if it pays off. After hatching a plan that involves half of the party rocking the local Darkmoon hotspot “The Hose and Trough” to lure in all comers, including Vhatiz Zissk, our elusive quarry, while the rest of the group sneaks aboard his ship and gathers intelligence.  What could possibly go wrong? Now, our crew must decide who will accomplish which task and how.  And we’ll see how successful they are at sneaking and rocking your face, respectively.  With Dr. Wu in the mix, one never quite knows what will happen. Hatching Plans on Darkmoon   We’re out of the frying pan, or at least the gravity well, but what possible dangers will face our brave party when they step foot on Darkmoon.  We get a chance to get a little intraparty role playing in as we travel through hyperspace, and then the crew of the Spruce Bantha manages to cook up a plan that can only be considered Muppet-like in its scope, breadth and comedy potential.  We must lure Vatiz Zissk in, and boy do we know how we’re going to do it.  Dr. Wu almost gets us blown out of the sky with his “negotations” with Darkmoon control, but now, it may be up to him and only him for our entire plan to succeed.  We know he’s the Ryn with the gin, but, is he the man for the plan? Blast those TIE Fighters! An episode devoted to the joys of Space Combat as the formidible crew of the Spruce Bantha (as well as Dr. Wu, owner of the Spruce Bantha) have to fight for their lives as they are trapped in the artificial gravity well of an Imperial Interdictor Cruiser.  Crushing defeats and horrible roles are punctuated by the occasional heroic act, and I think we really did a decent job with the rules of space combat on this one, so maybe you’ll learn something or get some ideas. In any case, the crew of the Spruce Bantha and her crew lies in the balance as we duke it out with the Empire’s front line pilots and their TIE Fighters.  Hopefully, this baby’s got a few tricks up her sleeve.  Only one way to find out…. A New Star Wars Adventure Begins! Escape from Despayre! Droids don’t pull people’s arms out of their sockets… Our combat encounter against Maurice and Brucie continues!  Will our heroes escape their clutches or will the Spruce Bantha and her crew fall victim to these vile slavers?  R2-MO is working the computers furiously, as Fuhrry Behr expresses a fury of his own right by raging out!  Meanwhile, we hear rumblings from the bowels of the ship. Some of it is surely the ships engines firing up as Maurice prepares for takeoff (and Cal Maverick and Billy Bob tumble out) but something more primal, guttural and…rage filled can be heard.  With our characters lives in the balance we rejoin the action about Maurice and Brucie’s ship. We also have a new player at the table this week:  Maya!  We’ll reveal her character later, but you’ll hear her join in on the fun, and you’re going to love what she brings to the table.  We also have Ted back this week, as Dr. Wu is finally waking up from his bender.  However, it looks like Billy Bob got conked out by her fall, and so, we won’t have Gretchen playing with us in this session. Everyone, roll me some Vigilance Checks….   We are going into combat!  Betrayed by Billy Bob Womprat’s brother, Maurice, and the enigmatic Brucie, our band of heroes finds themselves fighting for their lives and their ship, The Spruce Bantha. But these are no ordinary slavers, and in this session we get no ordinary dice rolls.  We determine fairly quickly that straight combat may not be the best solution here, and the party has to get creative just to survive.  The blaster bolts (and the fur)starts flying as we find the Whiskey Rebellion approach to Edge of the Empire Combat. Alright, Alright, Alright Trudging through the Jungles of Despayre, in search of Vhatis Zissk, and driven forward by strange premonitions from our increasingly weird Wookiee, Fuhrry Behr, the crew comes upon a clearing.  The crew must decide what to do with the information (and junk) found there. Meanwhile, we know that there is something else up on this weird planet, because Billy Bob Womprat has heard it.  However, the rest of our crew is really just trying to survive the next set of obstacles the jungles of Despayre throw our way.  Dr. Wu will remain sidelined with the hangover of a lifetime aboard the Spruce Bantha. Find out what happens when Fuhrry Behr accidentally trips across his destiny, Cal Maverick meets someone even cooler than he is (I know that seems impossible), and a family reunion takes place, but not the one we were expecting. Set Coordinates for Despayre Our heroes are hot on the tail of a lead….R2-MO has discovered the location of the infamous Vhatiz Zissk, father of Gha Zissk.  He’s headed to the planet Despayre, and we know he won’t be there for long.  And so our heroes take off in the Spruce Bantha to track him down and find out what he knows.  Meanwhile, en route to Despayre, they’ll take a little bit of a chance to get to know each other.  We’ll learn some of the motivations behind Fuhrry Behr and Billy Bob Womprat, and something surprising will happen to our Wookiee friend that might call him forth to his destiny. This was an episode we recorded during the summertime, and the windows were open where we were playing.  You’ll hear some authentic jungle sounds (even when we’re in space) and the occasional “Imperial Shuttle” pass overhead.  We apologize for that but hope it won’t distract you too much from an otherwise very fun episode.  Additionally, Ted, playing Dr. Wu, was unable to make this session, so we’ll say he is “sleeping it off” on the Bantha as the rest of us make our way through this particular session of adventure, but fear not, Dr. Wu wakes up eventually, and he is ready to PARTY.
