Jared recently traveled to Japan to pick up his son. He visited some sites in southern Japan. He reflects on his visit to Kumamoto Castle and its fascinating construction. Lodestone just held its CQB Two course. It was an extremely rewarding course for both the students and instructors. During the numerous AARs throughout the course, students had questions about videos and social media posts that they have seen. Some are good. Others are just full of bad ideas.  In this episode, Jared talks a little about the course, but spends most of the time addressing CQB training as a whole. There are good instructors and companies out there like us, who know how to teach this. But the number of charlatans peddling the "best" CQB techniques from the good idea fairy far outnumber us. Jared explains why he's a subject matter expert and talks about general truths of CQB. He expounds on things to look out for if you are interested in this type of training. In this episode, Jared and Micah talk about real training vs. fantasy. There are plenty of good quality training companies out there, of which LTAC is one. But for every good one, there are a dozen that aren't. They share some examples of those who are attempting to "teach" concepts and courses above their understanding.  LTAC has one of the most well-rounded course offerings in the country, yet we are very specific in what we teach. Jared uses an example of why we don't teach a specific set of classes, as a way of self-regulating.
