LA RUTA 61 RUTA 61 Aunque a nivel turístico parezca haber vivido a la sombra de la famosa Ruta 66, la Ruta 61 está considerada por muchos, especialmente los propios yankees, como la carretera que mejor refleja el espíritu de la América profunda. 2.300 kilómetros que nacen en el sur, en las tierras pantanosas de Louisiana, y mueren en Minnesota, ya cerca de la frontera con Canadá, atravesando en vertical el país del tío Sam y dándonos la oportunidad de saborear ese Estados Unidos rural de cabañas de madera y mecedoras en el porche. Compañera inseparable en buena parte de su trazado del mítico río Mississippi, esta ruta de carreteras polvorientas es conocida cariñosamente como la Ruta del Blues, la Blues Highway, por serpentear entre los campos de algodón del Delta, donde han nacido algunos de los músicos más importantes de la escena norteamericana y donde aún sobreviven a pie de carretera los clubs de los que se escapan los sonidos de viejos banjos.
