NCAA Football producer Ben Haumiller joins Doc on this week's official EA Sports NCAA Football podcast to announce Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffen III for this year's cover athlete. Griffen will not be alone on the cover, and EA Sports wants you to vote (via a Facebook page to be launched next week) on which former Heisman winner will join him on the front of the new game. After an extended hiatus to attend to behind-the-scenes matters (we have a small staff around here), LoudSilence Sports returns with another official EA Sports NCAA Football podcast. This was the most difficult show I have ever done in two decades of broad/pod-casting. What began as a well-planned memorial for a man who made a positive impact on my life turned into a rambling mess. I considered not posting the show, or trying to re-record it. Ultimately I decided the awkwardness of the show is outweighed by the reality of struggling to put both his death and the events of the last three months of his life into perspective. Ben Haumiller, producer of the EA Sports NCAA Football franchise joins Doc to discuss the return to greatness of the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry, commend Bobby Petrino for not quitting before the end of the LSU game and lament the firing of show favorite Turner Gill at Kansas.

Doc reviews the big moments of Week 12 in college football along with EA Sports NCAA Football producer Ben Haumiller. On today's dockett: Robert Griffen III's entry into the Highlight Hall of Fame, Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads's incredible pep talk skills and the incredible slate of games we have on tap for the long holiday weekend. The two also wonder aloud why the officials did not review Oklahoma State's crucial missed field goal, even if it was the right call on the field.

The two weigh-in on Week Ten of the NFL season, including the obligatory takes on the Falcons going for it on fourth down in OT and Tim Tebow only completing only two of eight passes on Sunday. Then the conversation veers into the NBA lockout and the impending demise of the season. DJ is done with the NBA, while Doc is delusional in his loyalties to the Orlando Magic and tries to keep DJ in the fold. He is unsuccessful, in large part to the effect the lockout is having on the O-Rena workers the two have gotten to know so well over the years.

Week 11 saw the end of Boise State's place in the BCS title discussion and the shrinking of Andrew Luck's Heisman Trophy race lead. After a difficult hiatus the LoudSilence Sports Show has returned. For today's episode I brought in frequent guest and fellow Penn State graduate Mike Gogel. Mike is host of the Masters of None podcast and is also a fellow former GM of Penn State's student radio station, WKPS-FM, 90.7: The Lion. This show could have easily lasted four hours. There seems to be no end to the amount of side stories, new information and strong opinions on the subject. We try to keep our focus to how Penn Staters should handle themselves during tomorrow's game against Nebraska and what steps need to happen from here to restore Penn State's image. We're speaking from the heart and we do not edit our segments, though, so sometimes the conversation breaks down into cathartic ranting.

We here at LoudSilence sports love defense. After all, it wins championships. EA Sports NCAA Football producer Ben Haumiller joins Doc to revel in the greatness that was the Tiger-Tide game on Saturday evening. Also on the menu is Justin Blackmon's continued quest to have at least one horrible play in every game to balance out how incredible he is on every other offensive snap.

This was supposed to be a podcast about how to handle lopsided or possibly nefarious trades in fantasy football. Instead it turned into a lengthly discussion about the reality of the NBA lockout finally sinking in. We previously visited this topic during an episode with Super Bowl champion Brad Johnson. If more parents begin to push their children away from football due to head injuries it is only a matter of time until that trickles down to the NFL.

The retirement of Tony LaRussa after an amazing run to the world championship has produced a nauseating number of "best career ending" stories. Did you know Jerome Bettis was from Detroit and that John Elway lost three Super Bowls before he went out with back-to-back rings? Yeah, neither did we. In today's episode Doc welcomes frequent guest and host of the Masters of None podcast Mike Gogel to review the worst endings of great sports careers and determine which former legend's swan song is the antithesis of LaRussa's storybook ending.
