We're two Jess' and a Jane talking about love, dating and relationships, and all the sticky bits inbetween. Each episode is a casual chat where we bring you anecdotes, science, unsolicited advice, and various other tidbits on the subject. We want to share our wisdom, and hopefully learn a few things along the way. At the very least you'll be entertained because honestly, we're hilarious. Hope you can join us!

And remember... when it comes to love, you never stop learning.

Episode #10: The Break Up

Look, an episode that starts with the full intro to Whitney Houston's "I will always love you" was always going to be a sad episode. Even more so when it's the last ever, ever, episode of Love School (it's a podcast). And even more so when we spend the whole time discussing relationships ending. Welcome to episode 10: the break up. In this episode we reminisce fondly over old break ups (safe to say Jess B was the best at them) and how they shape and grow you for the next relationship. WHICH IS A METAPHOR YOU GUYS because what better time to tell you that we are embarking on an all new all singing (probably) all dancing (probably not) podcast in the new year which will be all about how unqualified we are at being adults and how to help you be a better unqualified adult. It's going to be amazing you guys. Sometimes one thing has to end so another can take its place. Thanks for listening, we love you. And remember.... when one door closes, another one opens.

Episode #9: Physical Education

You know, in the lead up to this episode, I was so excited. I had so many puns lined up for this blurb. So much innuendo. I planned to write the wittiest, euphemisticest (yes, it's a word, shush) intro, and we would all squirm with glee at all the clever analogies. But now I'm here, and the episode is here, and I can't remember any of those puns. And I can't think of any clever words that rhyme with "peen". And, you know, that's kind of a great analogy in itself. Because sex, the first time, or the first-with-a-particular-person time, or even the hundredth time, it's never how you thought it would be, or how you planned, or daydreamed. Sometimes it's worse, sometimes it's unspeakably better. But it's never how you imagined. Welcome to episode 9: Physical Education. Ok, ok, I'm getting morose. This is our peenultimate (ooh, there's the witty wordplay!) episode and tbh, it's kind of sad. End of an era, and all that. But I'll dwell on that next ep. This ep, we talk all things physical: body love, anatomy, first times, worst times. There's an elephant in the room (which is a dog, tune in for the adorable border collie panting near the microphone around 20:46) and we talk about our relationship with our bodies, and we also give our 18 year old selves advice which is surprisingly profound. As usual we skip and hop all over the place but eventually... we get there. Enjoy yourselves, and Enjoy Yourselves (if you know what we saying!) - tune in next time for our sad but inevitable break up. And as always, please remember- when it comes to love, you never stop learning.

Episode #8b: BONUS EP / EXTRA EXTRA / Substitute Teacher

You know how when you were in actual school and the best news you could ever receive was that your teacher was away and you had a substitute teacher? Which usually meant watching a video and not having to explain why you hadn't done your homework? Well, this episode is sort of like that, except that this substitute teacher was actually the best and taught us heaps and also came up with the best idea for a dating app we've ever heard. Don't steal it. Welcome to Episode 8b: BONUS EP / EXTRA EXTRA / Substitute Teacher. In this episode, featuring our special guest star Els, we revisit the world of online dating but from (if memory serves me correctly) a much cheerier place than our info tech episode! We were all kind of depressed during that one. We talk about the pros and cons of online dating and online dating apps. We actually ironically stay on topic and really learn stuff; it's not like other episodes. This is pretty fun because it's a bonus episode which means we still have two left before the end of term; basically we don't want this to end and will probably have trouble letting go. But we can deconstruct that in the final episode: Breaking Up. But before that we get to talk about sexy sex sex in Episode 9: Physical Education. Want us to talk about you? Answer the survey or write us a love letter. And remember... when it comes to love, you never stop learning.

Episode #8: Psychology

Love, amirite? It's a battlefield. If you've got a heart, and you've got a brain, then you've probably been on the frontline yourself. Luckily, that means that you're in exactly the right place right now. Because at Love School, we learn about our hearts, with our brains. Welcome to Episode #8: Psychology. In this episode, we actually delve pretty deep into the topics of identity, who we are in relationships and how relationships change us; the games that go on in our minds as well as the ones we play with other people. We talk about how feelings can change, and how our brains and hearts can work against each other when we really (really, really) need them to work together. Also we talk about the Backstreet Boys. Making a Murderer. Ducks. Whether Jess B should dye her hair. Other classic psychology topics. We may have promised that we would post photos of Freddie Prinze Jr, but that turns out to be untrue. I know this because I'm writing this post and I am not including any photos of Freddie Prinze Jr. The main thing to note about this episode is that we are in NO WAY QUALIFIED to really talk about psychology so please don't sue us but also here are some psychology words: Id. Maladaptive. Congruency. Coming up next episode: Physical Education. As in, "PHYSICAL". Uh huh. "EDUCATION". Oh yeah. You keeping up with the word play there? Basically it will be super sexy. And finally, remember that - sing it with me! - when it comes to love... you never stop learning.

Episode #7: History

School's back! Finally. I feel like I should explain. I mean, we were going so well, this podcast and us. It was early days, but it felt... solid, you know? Stable. Like we could trust it to be there. Like we could listen back on it when we wanted to. Like new episodes would arrive, consistently, when we needed them. But then... life happened. We all (metaphorically speaking) started hanging out with the cute-but-bad-news guy at our school, and he enticed us to skip out on a few classes. Maybe we hung out with him at the park and smoked cigarettes. Maybe he invited us to watch DVDs at his house. Yes DVDs, Love School is permanently located in the early 2000's and Netflix doesn't exist yet. Anyway... so we hung out. And time passed, and then the so-cute-so-bad guy started being less attentive. And we got bored of our entertainment options being limited to his mediocre DVD collection. And - most importantly - we missed learning. So we dusted off our 4-ring binders, dug out our Caribee backpacks from the bottom of the closet, and prepared to tread the halls again. Our first lesson? Welcome to Episode 7: History. In today's episode, we're talking about blasts from the past. Exes that crop up over and over again. Hooking up with exes. Avoiding exes. What we've learnt from our dating history. What we haven't learnt. Or at least, that was the lesson plan we wrote up on the board. Since it's been a while, we all went a bit Dead Poet's Society on the lesson plan, embraced the moment, and discussed all of the above plus soundscape apps, Devon Sawa movies, and Exbook (what's exbook? Listen and see). Now we've re-discovered our studious side, we're pretty excited about our next episode, Psychology, where we look at our behaviours in relationships, the games we play, and how our relationships inform our identity. Let us know about your behaviours! Fill in our survey at loveschoolpodcast.com/homework — we will almost definitely read out your answers. Promise. It's not a mind game. And remember... when it comes to love, you never stop learning.

Episode #6b: Love isn't always on time

Which is to say, we aren’t always on time. Which is to say, sometimes (one time) we are 6 months late with an episode. And then it isn’t even an episode. It’s a TEASER about the real episode. But it’s us, and we’re talking to you, and we’re sorry for everything, and we’re wondering if you would be interested in maybe trying again? Maybe we could take it slow, see where things go? Long story short, we love you and we love school. We’re back and we’re keen to finish the term. We’ve got 4 episodes to go and boy are they bangers! Thank you for staying with us so far, and remember…. when it comes to love, you never stop learning.

Episode #6: Geography

How far would you go for love? As in, how many kilometres? Hello and welcome to Episode #6: Geography! This juicy episode is all about long distance relationships: how they start, how they end, and what actually goes on in the middle. For this ep we are very happy to welcome guest listener and Long Distance Relationship Expert (LDRE), Susan, to our high tech recording studio. Susan is currently dating an Englishman who lives (wait for it) in England, and she gives us all the juice about her cross-equatorial relationship (that's a technical term). It's actually pretty lovely and it made us all gooey inside - just like the molten lava at the Earth's core - and we also learned a thing or two, and potentially increased tourism for outer-Melbourne suburbs. Drop by next time for our History episode, where we wade back through the memories of lovers past - the ones that stay and haunt you, the ones that keep coming back, the ones that got away. Get involved by taking our survey or leaving us a love letter at loveschoolpodcast.com/homework And remember, when it comes to love... you never stop learning.

Welcome to Episode #5, info tech! #infotech #modern #swiperight In honor of our edating episode, and making it to the halfway mark of our first term, we've written an online dating profile for LoveSchool. My self-summary I am a podcast, but I'm also a school. I like to talk about love, dating, and relationships. What I'm doing with my life Learning. Constantly. I never stop. I'm really good at Bursting into song. Giving unsolicited advice. Dropping fairly obscure references into most conversations. Surveys. The first things people usually notice about me Apart from the fact that I'm a PODCAST with cognitive powers? Probably my smile. The six things I could never live without Jess A, Jess B, Jane D, the Internet, iTunes and stitcher. I spend a lot of time thinking about What Love is. On a typical Friday night I am Being listened to by thousands of people. You should message me if You want to ask me a question or give me feedback.
