So unless you are willing to just ditch your life and pick up the cross next to me and go get nailed to this cross, don't bother following me because unless you deny yourself, all those desires, you have all those dreams you have, unless you're winning ready to just leave all of that and pick up your cross and follow me, you can't be my disciple. Same thing, Paul is saying here ; he goes, I don't, I don't, I just refuse to practice cunning. That word cunning means genius or clever or even deceptive. He goes, I try, I'm not going to try to talk you into something by some clever talk or some creative way. He goes, instead, I'm just going to openly declare the truth.
