A couple months back someone asked if we could talk about “self love during the winter” so here it is! Let’s talk about it. We know that seasonal depression, political depression, pandemic depression are very real. On top of in general depression, phew… it’s a process to say the least. But we wanted to have a conversation around in general how are we taking care of ourselves especially during the winter when self love can be a little tougher.

A conversation with Estefania Betancourt Macias. An undocumented Emergency Room/ICU RN, co-founder of BMFS Foundation, dog + plant mom and certified Magic Mami. Hear her speak on the amazing work she is doing both with BMFSF and as an RN. As a ER and ICU nurse at the frontline of treating covid-19 patients, Estefania has experienced and seen it all. Navigating a space that has been physically, emotionally and mentally demanding takes a toll on anyone. But the love she has for her community and family has been the the force driving her to show up every day. Listen to Estefania speak not only on her experience as a frontline worker but how she has personally been healing, caring for herself and how she hopes community can continue to care for themselves.

Whether we’re in the process of coming out to ourselves, our family, friends or simply beginning to give ourselves permission to question and explore our existence. In this episode we talk about our own coming out experiences, and how we continue to navigate and celebrate our queerness. How do you incorporate queerness into your spirituality? How do you celebrate your gayness?

Capitalism be capitalizing... on everything... and we’re tired of it. We’re tired of capitalism trying to take us away from ourselves. From our body, mind soul and spirit and honestly fuck that. Spirituality does not look any one way, yet we often see it put into this framework. Part of our personal experiences has been being real and accountable to the ways we’ve fallen into the perception of what we thought spirituality has to look like. Our journey has meant unlearning the idea that we need to buy things to feel spiritual. What does your process look like? Make it you. It’s you. How you see it, there is no model. No mold. No path.
