33 Two Trees In the Garden

Episode in Mantra
This week we have a very special edition of Mantra with music by SoundMonk. If you like this podcast please take a moment to Subscribe and Share with a Friend!   Now take a deep breath put your feet firmly on the ground and we will begin.   We start by focusing where your body meets the Earth. It may be your feet, it may be your seat, or it may be both. Take a deep breath into this space and as you exhale feel your energy roots spread deeper and wider. Each in breath feels purifying and each exhalation sends any negativity through your energy roots to be purified by the Earth.   While we continue to root ourselves,  I would like to talk to you about two trees, the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life. It is said that we ate from the Tree of Knowledge and now we know right, wrong,  good, evil, happy,  and sadness. We go through each moment in life making judgements and discernment. This is good, this is bad, I am right and you are wrong. Every moment finding ways to be more separate building walls between each other.   Yet there was another tree. When banished from the Garden,  the Tree of Life was said to be guarded by a cherub with a flaming sword. Yet Buddha has sat beneath it and the ancient Persians sent fish to guard it, and Krishna is said to have slept in it while the Earth was covered in water.   I can’t help but wonder if the Tree of Life would reveal the cycle so that we could know we came to play and have fun. This life is not a slow march till the end but a journey of peaks and valleys and endless beauty if you allow it in.   Would the Fruit of the Tree of Life reveal our connection?  Show us all how you, me, the grass underfoot and the leaves of the trees are just one beautiful organism?   This week I challenge you to live as if we ate from the Tree of Life instead of the Tree of Knowledge. Put down your judgements and remember we are all one.   You are Loved! My name is JP Adkins, and this is my Mantra. The post 33 Two Trees In the Garden appeared first on Mantra.

31 Rascal

Episode in Mantra
Welcome to Mantra 32 The Rascal! This week we have music from White Noise, Jamie Berry, Hi Noise, Gareth & Mastak, Filippo Nozzi.   Take a nice deep breath and fall into this groove. There is nowhere you have to be in this moment. There is nothing you have to do. Just allow yourself to feel the music. You may feel yourself start to sway or bob or even want to dance a little. This is not only acceptable,it is encouraged.   So many times we find ourself repressing our self-expression because we are afraid of it looks like to others, what other people will think. We spend so much time worrying about what others think about us that we forget that they are just as afraid as what we think of them. We always feel as if we have to look great or people will think of us as small. You are not small. You are a divine spark of creation that is creating this existence moment by moment, breath by breath.   Guys and gals we don’t have to put on the brave front. That is just voices in our head saying that who we are isn’t  good enough.   It is time to remember that this life is meant to be fun and I feel that many of us have lost the ability to have fun. What dreams have we failed to pursue, what fun have we failed to enjoy, and what experiences have we missed out on just because it wouldn’t look good? When is the last time you skipped or danced, or jumped on the back of your grocery cart and rode it down the main aisle?   Alan Watts has said “God plays hide and pretends that he is you and I, he does it so well that it takes him a long time to remember where and how he hid himself. But that’s the whole fun of it — just what he wanted to do. He doesn’t want to find himself too quickly, for that would spoil the game. That is why it is so difficult for you and me to find out that we are God in disguise, pretending not to be himself. But when the game has gone on long enough, all of us will wake up, stop pretending, and remember that we are all one single Self — the God who is all that there is and who lives for ever and ever.”   This week, I want you to be the rascal by making people wonder what is up with you that you are having so much fun! Go downtown and enjoy yourselves! Remember you are loved! My name is JP Adkins and this is my Mantra.   The post 31 Rascal appeared first on Mantra.

And It Is

Episode in Mantra
This week’s Mantra we have music from Stereoshock, Dozin, and Danny David. If you like this podcast please take a moment to share it with a friend! Now sit back, put your feet firmly on the ground, and we will begin. We start by taking a deep breath letting our bodies sink into where they connect to the Earth. It may be your feet, it may be your seat, or it may be both. Feel that connection now. There is nothing wrong in this moment. There is nothing you have to fix. You are perfect, whole, and complete just as you are. You do not have to do anything or be anything  to be more perfect. Just let go of the tension and the strain you have been holding. That bolder you have been pushing up the endless mountain. Feel the strain leave your forehead, your shoulders, your chest, your tummy, your hips, your thighs, and your toes. Everything is working out for you. There is only a flow of goodness coming from the Universe. You see it every day from the sun shining out the window to the smile on a passing stranger’s face. All is well. You are safe. You can just be here in this moment and enjoy. Each moment is a gift, the ups, and downs of life’s roller coaster. It is all perfect. We just have to see it takes some downs to enjoy our ups, some bitter to enjoy the sweet. Life is a dance and sometimes it feels as if we are spinning out of control until you crash against the wall or someone balances you for your leap. We have to take the leap. To allow ourselves to feel the love and the joy and not wallow in the hurt and the pain. We create our reality by what we allow our attention.  We can live small lives of hurt and despair or we can get out of our heads and into action to create our and. Remember that you are loved! 30 Not the Hero

Episode in Mantra
It is the belief that we are always right, that we can be the hero in someone else’s story that we find the seeds of terrorism. When we can not respect other’s views, thoughts, and beliefs it leads to conflicts and wars that will never be won. This week we have music from Brum, Ralph Cowell, and Mystical Compelx & Dapanji. Take a nice deep breath in filling your lungs completely before letting it out again. Take a deep breath in through your nose and let it all out through your mouth. Feel your body relax with every cycle of respiration. Release the tension in your forehead, your jaw, your shoulders, your belly, your thighs and your toes. All is well today, no need for your flight of fight reflexes. Let go of any pain, hurt, and anger. They probably have no real basis in reality. Just be with this empty space for a moment and feel the process of breathing. The world is full of people walking around believing that their way is the only way whether it be how to load the dishwasher, to what happens when you die. We tend to focus outward to “fix” the world around us instead of focusing inward on how we impact the world. We tend to get set in our ways, not hearing or appreciating other views. The Holy Quran states “We have appointed a law and a practice for every one of you. Had God willed, He would have made you a single community, but He wanted to test you regarding what has come to you. So compete with each other in doing good. Every one of you will return to God and He will inform you regarding the things about which you differed.” (Surat al-Ma’ida, 48) There is an old Chinese Proverb that states, “There are many paths to the top of the mountain, but the view is always the same.” Jesus has said, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same?” (Matthew 5:44–46). Alan Watts has said, “Peace can be made only by those who are peaceful, and love can be shown only by those who love. No work of love will flourish out of guilt, fear, or hollowness of heart, just as no valid plans for the future can be made by those who have no capacity for living now.” Celebrate the diversity around you. 29 So That I May Enter My Sacred Space

Episode in Mantra
This week we have music from Split Brain and Schwann. If you like this podcast, please share it with a friend. Today we start by taking a nice cleansing breath and envisioning a peaceful place. It may be somewhere real, or somewhere completely from your fantasy. It may be a favorite chair, a quiet room, or perhaps next to a babbling brook. This is your place to explore. Feel the atmosphere of this space. Does it have a scent? Is it warm? What does it feel like on your skin? What does it taste like on your tongue? This is your time to explore this space. Take some time to just breathe and enjoy. From this sacred space, I would like to share with you a Lakota Prayer that a friend shared with me this week. It goes: Great Mystery, teach me how to trust my heart, my mind, my intuition, my inner knowing, the senses of my body, the blessings of my spirit. Teach me to trust these things so that I may enter my Sacred Space and love beyond my fear, and thus Walk in Balance with the passing of each glorious Sun. -Lakota Prayer What a beautiful thought. The Great Mystery, that which is unknown and unknowable let me know who I am, trust in myself so that I can enter my Sacred Space and LOVE BEYOND MY FEAR! How many times to we hold back our love for worry about what people may say or think? It is the trust in ourselves and loving those around us that allows us to truly walk in balance. We cannot truly be content until we know that we are one with each other and with the Universe. We can only understand what that means through realizing that the separate ego is truly not capable of pleasure and contentment since a society who has convinced him into believing he is separate, can never believe that he belongs. Alan Watts says, “Peace can be made only by those who are peaceful, and love can be shown only by those who love. No work of love will flourish out of guilt, fear, or hollowness of heart, just as no valid plans for the future can be made by those who have no capacity for living now.” It is your connection to others which defines you. The separate person is without content and content. You create your life. Take time to celebrate and strengthen your trust in yourself and love beyond your fear this week. You Are Loved! 28 Rise

Episode in Mantra
Mantra is for the people who realize that if you are on a higher vibration (feeling happy, energized, fulfilled, moved, hyped) you have a better experience when facing the world. The first few minutes are designed to get you centered and focused; the rest of the time is to move your vibration to get you into the peak state of well-being ready to attack the world! This week we will rise with music from Sound Celestial Orchestra, Doezin, and Gio Nailati! We start today by focusing on our breath, how it goes in, how it come out, how each cell takes just a little before letting the waste out. Let that clean gift of air fill your body and bring you new revitalizing energy. You can take the weight of the world off your shoulders for a few moments. Any thoughts that come up you can swipe away like an unwanted notification on your phone. You can always just check the app when you are done. This is your time to just focus on your breath. Imagine the in breath as a pure, white light shining on any darkness, making the shadows disappear. As I was preparing for today, I kept hearing the words of Dr. Maya Angelou ringing through my ears. You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may trod me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I’ll rise. How much of our lives are spent letting other’s thoughts of us dictate what we can and cannot do? We have to look a certain way, speak a certain way, say just the right words and have just the right actions. Then we ourselves turn around and set limitations on ourselves like I am sick, or I am broke, or I am wrong, I am fat, or I am thin, or I am stupid, I am weak or I am tired. We use these as excuses for living a small life. I am broke so I can’t afford my dream, or I am stupid so I can’t live my dream. We have all seen someone do something that we thought was impossible or at the very least incredible. If they can do these things, why can’t you? You are perfect, whole, and complete. You are a creator. You can rid your life of so and have a life of and. I feel sick and I rise, I feel broken and I rise, I feel stupid and I rise to reach the dreams I dream in this moment, and in this moment, and in this moment. The only limitations that you truly have are ones which you gave yourself. What excuse are you holding onto today that is keeping you from your dream? What is obstructing your light? Why can’t you live the dream that you have today? You can rise from any situation when you stop living on your but instead of creating your and! You are a creator – perfect, whole and complete. Know that you are in control of your life. You are loved! My name is JP Adkins and this is my Mantra. The post 28 Rise appeared first on Mantra.

27 The Realm of Opinion

Episode in Mantra
This week we have music from Michael FK, Metro Trips, and Sesto Sento. If you like this podcast please take a moment to share it with a friend.  We start by focusing on the areas that connect you to the earth. This may be your feet, it may be your seat, or it may be both. Each breath sends small energy roots out, firmly grounding you, allowing any negative energy and stress to be push through to be filtered by the soil till all you feel is the clean, pure energy of your in-breath. As you feel the negative energy flowing from you, you have space to add something new, something that serves you better, maybe it is peace or tranquility, maybe it is fun and excitement, maybe it is love but, whatever it is, have it serve you in your journey ahead. Feel this energy fills you till you feel it overflow and leak through your energy roots. Maybe you feel these roots flowing all around you so that you feel connected to others in your vicinity. Share this energy with them also so that they feel so full that they will have to share it with the next person and so on and so forth. With this new found energy we can think of how we walk through our lives. How much is it spent in judgment, how much of it in pain? Yet, in any given moment we can choose peace. We can choose love. I have heard it said that you can either be happy or you can be right. For, in the end, being right or wrong is just an opinion. I challenge you to think more in terms of workability than morality. Morality is fleeting and changing. It limits more than it serves. Workability allows you to think less judgmentally and more inclusively because what works for you may not work for others. Take for instance where you keep your peanut butter. Some keep it in the refrigerator, and some keep it in a pantry. Some even keep it on the counter because they use it so much. There is nothing wrong with any of these options, they all work. When you are not thinking of what is right or wrong, you can think more creatively, more inclusively, and more from a place of values instead of standards. Values inspire you to be greater where standards keep you limited. Standards are baseline, they hardly cover what you need. Your values and ideas if based in workability will inspire you to move forward and free. This week, notice when you find yourself in judgment, how does it make you feel? Does being right inspire you to be better? Does it make you feel connected to others? You are a powerful creator able to create the life you want. May you be inspired to create a life bigger than your wildest dreams. You are loved! My name is JP Adkins, and this is my Mantra.     The post 27 The Realm of Opinion appeared first on Mantra.

26 Absence of Light

Episode in Mantra
Mantra is for the people who realize that if you are on a higher vibration (feeling happy, energized, fulfilled, moved, hyped) you have a better experience when facing the world. The first few minutes are designed to get you centered and focused; the rest of the time is to move your vibration to get you into the peak state of well-being ready to attack the world! This week we have music from Michael FK, YoBot,  JimaJama. We start by taking a few nice deep breaths and possibly allowing our eyes to close. Allowing our eyes to close takes us out of the physical world and allows us to go within. The absence of visual stimuli allows other senses to be heightened. Maybe you can feel the energy flowing to you and through you with every breath you take in.  This is your time. Let yourself just be in this moment. Everything you have to do can wait including thinking that thought. Swipe it away like an unwanted notification. You can check your messages later. For now just follow the energy. You may feel the sensation of the air on your skin gently moving the hairs along your arms or possibly your connection with the earth as the stress leaves your body through your feet to be purified by the soil. We spend so much time being worried about the next thing we have to do. It is nice to just take the weight of the world off our shoulders. To feel the vibration of the music bringing us back in tune with the One Song. This time of year can be stressful. Between the ever shorter days, to the pressures of the holiday season along with the unpredictable weather we can easily feel overwhelmed. I heard a saying recently, “If there is no answer, there must not be a problem.”  How many “un-answerable problems” do we create in our minds? What would happen if you didn’t make that phone call, go to that party, send out that card? What if instead we opened our hearts and allowed those people to be held in love and stopped putting more and more pressure onto ourselves and others. What if instead of worrying about the perfect gift we worried about how we can show the most love. The ego mind wants us to think that we must do more, get more, more, more, more! It is never enough. When we can just be in this breath we remember what is important is the love and the connection we have. Allow yourself to just bask in the fact that the only separations we have are the ones we create.  You are perfect, whole and complete just as you are. You mustn’t add or do anything to be any more perfect. We might ask ourselves how can we be gentler with ourselves? How can we be more loving to ourselves? What would truly make my soul happy today? What triggers of discontent can I disarm today? Allow yourself to ponder those questions and know that the Universe is sending nothing but positive energy to you. The sun shines on us all equally. We can each choose to feel the rain on our skin. So much of our lives are designed to make us feel comfortable. The heating and cooling system, the windows, walls but true change never happens in our comfort sone. Know that you create your life by the thoughts that you think. Keep reaching for the next highest thought. Let the music inspire you. Keep following the energy till you are compelled to move, till you have inspired action even if it is just to stretch out your body. There is only one true path, the one that you are on. Remember that the darkness you see is just an absence of light. If you don’t see light, it is your turn to be it. You are loved! My Name is JP Adkins and this is my Mantra! 25 Deep Boldness

This week we have music from Waldo Jeffers,  VMK, SplitBrain. Take a few moments to anchor yourself by feeling the space where you connect with the earth. It may be your feet, it may be your seat it may be both. Breathe into this space and know that you are safe, you are whole, and that you are firmly in this present moment.   This is the moment of power. The past and the future are only figments of your mind. This is the moment where you create your reality.  In John Anster’s very free translation of Faust he writes: “Then indecision brings its own delays, And days are lost lamenting over lost days. Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute; What you can do, or dream you can do, begin it; Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.” What is it that you have been putting off? What dreams have you been hiding? What is obscuring your light? Many times we feel like we have to take what we can get or take what we are given. The truth is our job is to be happy and do no harm. We do not have to allow people into our lives who suck out our joy. We do not have to worry about every penny coming in. We do not have to dim our light so that the world will accept us. What you can do, or dream you can do, begin it! It starts with a allowing yourself to dream. It continues letting go of the negative voices within you and around you and stepping out in boldness. There lies the magic. Glenda the Good said it best, “You have always had the power dear.” Your life probably won’t change overnight. It is by making decisions that make you happy that will move you towards your dreams. Stop the indecision, stop lamenting over lost days! Listen to Marianne Williamson as she says “We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.” Take these next few moments to dream, to edit out the negative voices within you. Know that you are creating this life! Know that you are loved! 24 Bask in the Glory Which Is You

This week we are going to bask in the glory of you with music by Stereoshock, False 9, and Tom Budin. Subscribe to the Design Your Life Newsletter to receive all the latest Mantra episodes and Designed Life articles to help you live a life that doesn’t suck. We take a few deep breaths and allow our body to release any tension it has gathered. This is your time to connect with That Which Is You, the part of you that connects with everything around you; the part of you which connects to the Eternal. Connect now with your splendor! It doesn’t matter if there have been mistakes in your past. It doesn’t matter where you were a moment ago. All that matters is that you are here now. Whatever you call It: God, Source, The Universe, Mohamed, Christ, Ala, Buddha, Krishna, or Higher Consciousness, knows where you are and is holding a space for your highest good. Bask in the knowledge that everything is working out for you. You have had many successes up to this point. Can you remember the first time you rode a bike, drove a car, or fell in love? Remember how your heart was open, racing, feeling like it was so big that it enveloped everyone? Feel that now in this breath; in this moment for you deserve happiness. You deserve joy. Each moment holds millions of reasons to feel joy if for no other reason than because you have breath in your body. With breath in your body you have the ability to make your life whatever you want it to be. You are a divine spark of creation that is co-creating reality in this very moment. Choose to create joy. Choose to create peace. Choose to create love. These are all choices! Others around us may not understand that. Others may not know how to be peaceful, or loving, or joyful. They have forgotten how to sing songs or dance for the sheer pleasure of it. Bless the people around you with a smile, a wave, a silent prayer; for the change you want to see starts with you. Take some time this week to remember that you are perfect, whole, and complete just as you are, that you create your life, you are on the leading edge of creation, you are shaping the reality for not only you but those around you. You are responsible for the energy you bring into the room. You may not be able to control the first thought, but you can always shape the second. Truly wish those around you well for you have no clue what their journey is about. I pray that each of you listening and each person you may pass throughout your journey find the space of Satcit?nanda – Being, Consciousness, and Bliss. You are loved! 23 Sacred Space

This week we have music from: Human Genome Records Pwyll Phoenix Sisters in Vision We take a few nice deep breaths. It doesn’t matter what is going on in your life, for these few moments allow yourself to just be. Feel the weight of the world melt off your shoulders bathing your body in warmth. Swipe away your thoughts like unwanted notifications, don’t bother clicking the links. If you find that your thoughts are being especially difficult, you may find silently repeating “So” on the in breath and “Ham” on the out breath helpful. “So” being equivalent to “I Am” and “Ham” being equivalent to “That”. Notice how the words mimic the sound your breath naturally makes. I am and that is all that is important in this moment. As we continue our breathing we feel our roots spreading from the bottom of our feet, each exhalation spreading them deeper and further. As we feel more firmly rooted, we can take the time to move inward imagining peeling back layer after layer till we find a closed door. What is that door made of? Is it solid or hollow? What would it sound like if you knocked? Is the door locked? Go ahead and try the doorknob. If it is locked, reach inside your pocket and grab the key. This is your space and you alone have the key. Behind this door is a sacred space.  What does that look like to you? Does it have stained glass windows and pews or perhaps there are comfortable cushions on the floor? Perhaps, there isn’t a floor at all. This is your space to connect to your Higher Power as you understand them. This is your space to ask for Guidance. This is your space to connect with That Which Knows the next step and be inspired into your next action. Take some time to just be here. Ask that which is on your mind and then be quiet and see if the answers come, always following the breath as it goes into and out of your body. Take some time to feel your connection to All and know that you are loved! My name is JP Adkins, and this is my Mantra! The post 23 Sacred Space appeared first on Mantra.

22 Deep Center

Episode in Mantra
Mantra is for the people who realize that if you are on a higher vibration (feeling happy, energized, fulfilled, moved, hyped) you have a better experience when facing the world. The first few minutes are designed to get you centered and focused; the rest of the time is to move your vibration to get you into the peak state of well-being ready to attack the world! This week we have music from: k9pr0ject and a SoundMonk! We start by finding a nice comfortable position, perhaps with our feet firmly on the ground and with our back straight. We take a few deep breaths and allow ourselves to relax. We feel the tension slowly being pushed out of our bodies starting at the top of our head, passing over our shoulders, out through our fingers and over our hips, down our thighs, over our calves till finally escaping through our feet into mother earth, spreading through our roots, and making our connection stronger. As we take another breath in, we focus ourselves inward; letting each breath take us deeper and deeper till we find our center. This is the place which holds your true self. It is a safe place for you. Are there walls? If so what are they made of? Maybe it is a beautiful place you have been to before. Perhaps, it has a scent, perhaps serene sounds like a babbling brook or a cool breeze rustling through the leaves on a warm summer’s day. This is your space and as individual as you are. The important thing about this place is that when you are here it makes you feel peaceful and whole. For in truth, you are always perfect, whole, and complete just as you are. This place reminds you that you mustn’t do anything to be more perfect. Explore this place till you are inspired to take on the world, and return here often throughout your journey. You Are Loved! 21 Level Up

Episode in Mantra
Mantra is for the people who realize that if you are on a higher vibration (feeling happy, energized, fulfilled, moved, hyped) you have a better experience when facing the world. The first few minutes are designed to get you centered and focused, the rest of the time is to move your vibration to get you into the peak state of well-being ready to attack the world! This week we have music from: Jamie Berry GlitchxCity myuu If you like this podcast, please take a moment to rate and subscribe. We take this time to restore our minds from the myriad of thoughts by focusing on our breath as it goes into and out of our bodies. It is like when playing Zelda and bathing in the lake to restore your life-force. You take time from the challenges before you, the quests and sub-stories to make sure you have enough life-force to get through the next level. Likewise, taking this time-out restores our bodies and our minds so that we can be focused and ready for the challenges ahead. Take a few moments now to just breathe in your life-force. Each day is a new quest and a new level filled with rewards, gifts, challenges and obstacles to overcome. When we remember that it is supposed to be fun and not take ourselves too seriously is when things start grooving. I have spent many an hour stumbling around Hyrule or the Mushroom Kingdom, not knowing what I should be doing. Sometimes just looking at the beautiful scenery and sometimes trying to find the next object on my quest until I break down and buy a guide. Even then, I have had to look things up online because I wasn’t able to reach my destination. How often do we wander around in real life, not really knowing the next step? Yet unlike when we are playing the game, we tend to get down on ourselves when we can’t seem to figure it out. When is the last time you have bought a guide? When is the last time you have looked for a guru to help answer your questions? This week I challenge you to look around you and see if you are ready to level up. You may be surprised by the tools you already have. Take some quality rest time to renew the life-force and have fun! Tell life game on! You Are Loved! My name is JP Adkins, and this is my Mantra!
