Well getting old 's not so bad ! (that's what i use to to say to myself when I'm too depressed!) Well for once , this is not a dance number ! It's the first Mashup video of that kind I made ; at the occasion of the Mashup film festival in Paris, I wanted to take a french chef d'oeuvre, and I focused on it ! Yes ,"Les disparus de saint Agil" was made in 1938 and is certainly a Chef d'oeuvre. Directed by Christian Jacques with Dialogues from Jacques Prévert, I did the music on this one, inspired by the movie, and wonderfuly accompanied by the fantastic piano player Henri Jégou. This piece will be part of a larger project dedicated to cinema. I've already composed 10 songs inspired by some movies that I consider as Master pieces, including some dialogues of them or interviews of great directors...So this is the first one. It's also a mashup considering that I've been workin with great voices ; The fantastic Michel Simon of course but also, Éric Von Stroheim, the evil Robert Le Vigan, and Mouloudji who was at the time a child ! For me it was a great experience to work on this film as , when i was a child (in the 60s!) this movie was played on the french TV each Year at Christmas ! Also it was done just before the war, and you can smell the anguish growin through the dialogues and the story so, I think this movie is still...Modern ! Last thing I must say for my non-french audience, cos' I did the effort to do the subtitles myself with a little help from my english neighbour Frances, whom I thank ; Martin was the common name for skelettons in french classrooms at the time...So Hello Martin ! Niagara "tchiki boum" vs Culture Club "Do you really want to hurt me?" A cheesy mashup video, first of 2012, as for me, the year really starts in March ! It's been a long time I wanted to do some track with Niagara that pop french hit makers, cos' each time it's played on a dance floor whatever audience it is ; everybody dance and smile ! Simple as that. So, in this mashup I used their 1st single "tchiki boum. A bit of fun and lightness is not bad those grey nowadays ; what u think ? !   Mashup-Germany aka Ben Stilller presents us his "BEST OF 2008 - 2011" and tells us some words about the last 4 years: "Exactly four years ago, I've uploaded my first mashup video to youtube. I used the account "BenStilller" and the name "Mashup-Germany" (delusion of grandeur?). My first production were pretty bad, but fortunately they improved over time. Soon later my youtube channel started to lift off. Within two years it had over 12 million views and this was when WMG decided to close it down due to copyright claims. Of course I was angry, I put so much work into it, but it didn't stop me from producing mashups. True passion is true passion!
