Bastianela Bente: Mastering Coaching Presence

\nSummary:\r\n\n\r\n\n‘Coaching Presence’. It is considered by master coaches to be the most important coaching competency but what exactly is it and how do we achieve it?!\r\n\nIn this podcast we explore the current coaching paradigm and the opportunities we now have to move beyond simply “being present” for the client to “BEING PRESENCE”.\r\n\n“Real coaches, high-quality coaches are transpersonal coaches who know how to go beyond the personal, to transcend their ego and expand into Presence…”\r\n\nBut how do we do this? Does it take years of spiritual training, mindfulness, yoga, meditation etc or is there a more direct, simple route where we can learn to shift at will, into this new way of operating, this new way of ‘being’?\r\n\nVery much enjoyed this conversation 🙂\r\n\nAbout Bastianela:\r\n\n\r\n\nBastianela Bente is a Presence Expert, a Spiritual Development Specialist, a 3Q Spiritual Intelligence Practitioner, and a Speaker. She is the co-founder of Presence Mastery Academy for Mastering Presence & the deputy director of the 3Q Institute for education and training in spiritual intelligence.\r\n\nHer work as a Presence Expert and a Spiritual Intelligence Specialist draws on twenty years of research and experience as a yoga practitioner and meditator.\r\n\nBastianela is passionate about training professional coaches in Presence Mastery and helping spiritually-attuned coaches who want to develop and explore their spiritual side in a highly-effective, clear and structured way using a direct method and clear guidance that allows them to save years of confusion, frustration, setbacks, and lack of results.\r\n\nhttp://presencemastery.academy/\r\n\n

Jonathan Wilkinson & Lian Brook-Tyler: Actualising our Deepest Gifts

Summary: In this podcast we look at how we can go about actualising our gifts in the world by exploring our deeper WHY’s, our passion, our love and embracing all of what it means to be truly human. Jonathan and Lian speak about the need to reclaim our wildness, our connection with nature, our ‘aliveness’ and the opportunity this affords to live an actualised life and thrive in the modern world. We also chat about ascension, descension, shadow work, the ‘Hero’s Journey’, awakening, enlightenment and what it means to fully SHOW UP in life. Lian finishes with a beautiful, moving poem by David Whyte called “All the True Vows.” About Jonathan and Lian: Jonathan Wilkinson and Lian Brook-Tyler are the co-founders, coaches and teachers at Primal Happiness. Their work is focused on leading men and women along the soul-led, open-hearted sovereign path of Waking The Wild… guiding them to reclaim their wildness and actualise their deepest gifts. https://primalhappiness.co/

Nic Askew: The Glorious Ignoramus

Summary: Pressed for a Bio, Nic often forwards his poem The Glorious Ignoramus. ‘I don’t know. But I know that I don’t know. I love that I don’t know. That I can never know for sure. So I’ve stopped looking to understand you. Or convince you. And now, finally, I can see you. I am a glorious ignoramus.’ In this podcast we explore the state of ‘not knowing’ and how this allows us the freedom to just BE who we really are and to truly SEE SOMEONE without any expectations, needs, or requirements for them or things to be other than they are. Nic guides us briefly through his Inner View Method that he uses to facilitate this process with a camera. We also look at the dilemma coaches face when it comes to ‘marketing’ ourselves (“I can’t give you anything that you don’t already have?!”) and if in fact, marketing is less about the words, tools, techniques, things we do and more about the STATE behind the words. If we can learn to speak from a state of ‘authentic presence’, without the need to justify ourselves to the world, without wanting something from the world, then life can start to work and flow through us in service of the greater good. We also chat about, amongst other things, TED talks, Simon Sinek, Sting’s guitarist and Nic’s latest exploration – The Point of Us – a collaborative project of films, words and experiences of people laid utterly bare (metaphorically speaking!). Nic also shares some of his other poems, and plays us out with some live music too 🙂 About Nic: From expeditions in the Congo, Amazon and Sahara to a Managing Directorship in Business, Nic Askew’s eclectic earlier life took an unexpected and conscious turn in 2005 when a lucid dream to pick up a video camera and use it in a profound fashion consumed him with no doubt. Since that day he has used the camera to capture an unyielding experience of truthfulness, taking his film subjects far beyond the experience of the mind and deep into an inner and wiser world. His Inner View Method has given rise to the acclaimed Soul Biographies Film Series, an experience of human presence viewed by millions. He has worked in provocative fashion in some of the World’s most influential arenas, and has given a profound visibility to the seemingly ordinary person who it turns out is each a haunting reflection of us all. More recently he realized that his work of the two most recent decades had been pointing to a profoundly simple experience, that of surrender and an end to seeking. And that the direct experience of peace and belonging without condition is the contribution. https://thepointofus.com/

Natalia Geiger: Love Transforms

Summary: As Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.” In this podcast we explore the transformational nature of consciousness and how we can break free from self-limiting, fear-based conditioning to rediscover our innate wholeness, joy and creativity. Natalia shares her own journey – how she went from feeling broken, defective and a victim of life to an eventual ‘dark night of the soul’ that led her to turn within, trust in life and be at peace with what is. We also speak about how we can best support others through our own ‘Hero’s Journey’ and inner work as we learn to be grateful for how life is showing up, not matter how challenging that is. Unconditional love and acceptance is the key. About Natalia: Natalia Geiger is the founder of Transpersonal Coaching for Life & Leadership. Through her experiences with her own process of healing and inner transformation, she began in 2014 to guide and support others on their own journey. Then, in 2018 she became Certified as a Professional Coach, and incorporated coaching into her work, having the opportunity to help a larger number of people. Natalia works globally with individuals, coaches and leaders who want to live and lead from their truest essence. She facilitates their process of conscious evolution to reach their greatest potential, through the inner work with awareness. In her experience, this is what truly allows us to experience love, peace and inner fulfilment. Her life’s mission is to contribute to the creation of a more conscious, loving and sustainable world. www.nataliageiger.com

Kevin Billett: The Greatness Inside

Summary: In this podcast we explore the inherent genius and greatness that resides in all of us. Instead of striving and working hard to achieve a ‘better version of ourselves’, if we can stay open, willing and committed to telling the truth, this inherent greatness is revealed. Kevin shares some of his own story and how when he hit rock bottom, after trying everything he could to ‘fix things’, he happened upon the Journey work and freed himself completely from stress, anxiety and clinical depression. We also explore the irony that by actually trying to avoid experiencing challenging feelings (or our emotional “no go” zone – anger, fear, sadness, shame etc), we inadvertently create more suffering for ourselves due to the ‘internal resistance’ to feeling what is present. Such is the beauty of life About Kevin: Kevin Billett is a world-leading expert in The Enneagram, awakening and life-transformation. In 1994, Kevin Billett experienced the healing power of Journeywork when he freed himself completely from 30 years of stress, anxiety and clinical depression. He is co-founder, with his wife Brandon Bays, of The Journey Method, a world-recognised self-healing and life transforming modality. He has been CEO of The Journey companies for the last 22 years. He is co-author, with Brandon Bays, of two books: Consciousness, The New Currency, and the Amazon No.1 Bestseller: Light in the Heart of Darkness – The Surprising Truth About Depression and How to Free Yourself Completely From its Grips. Kevin’s passion is using a modern version of an ancient teaching called The Enneagram – a model of self-enquiry and self-realisation – to help people free themselves from the traps and suffering of ego fixation, and to uncover the innate greatness that is our essential nature. His methodology is clear, direct and speaks to the ultimate truth in all of us. His work allows us to turn lives of stress, struggle and mediocrity into lives of passion, fulfilment and meaning. Kevin offers deeply life-transforming online and live seminars, workshops and retreats. He also offers online coaching mentoring programs. www.thejourney.com www.kevinbillett.org

Ian Watson: The Nature of Insight

Summary: In this podcast we explore the nature of ‘insight’ and what we can do to help facilitate moments of insight for our clients. What is it that leads to those “Aha!”, breakthrough moments? Is it something that we’re doing or is there a deeper intelligence, wisdom at play? Ian shares his own journey and how he came to see that beyond tools and techniques, we all have an innate capacity for insight, wisdom and transformation. We also talk about the nature of spiritual realisation (Byron Katie, Sydney Banks, the Buddha, Eckhart Tolle etc) and how moments of crisis can be opportunities for something new and deeper to emerge, if we are willing to let go of the past and embrace the unknown. Absolutely fascinating conversation for me! About Ian: Ian Watson is a transformational educator who has worked in the field of well-being, self-healing and inner transformation since 1988. He has written books, published articles and traveled extensively giving seminars, courses and retreats around the world. Ian became widely known as a speaker and writer in homeopathy, which he taught and practised until 2003. He subsequently trained in and practised a wide variety of psychological and emotional healing techniques which included Journey Process Work, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Jungian psychology, Shen physio-emotional release therapy, Hakomi technique and Byron Katie process work. Since 2010, Ian’s work has been oriented in the direction of uncovering the innate psychological wellbeing that everyone possesses, and guiding people towards insightful realisation of this simple truth. In the light of recent world events, Ian has been inspired to create some new programmes for those looking to enjoy greater autonomy and resilience regarding their physical health and that of their family. www.theinsightspace.com

Rod Boothroyd & Marianne Hill: Healing The Shadow

Summary: In this podcast we explore the ‘shadow’ (the parts of ourselves that we try to hide and deny) and how by bringing the light of awareness and compassion to these ‘unconscious drivers’, we can step into our true power, joy and become a heart-centred leader and coach. We also explore four personality archetypes (Magician, Lover, Warrior, King) and how each aspect is needed for us to become the best version of ourselves and bring our unique gifts and talents into the world. About Rod: Rod Boothroyd has been involved in the world of psychotherapy, counselling and emotional healing for more than 20 years now. He originally trained in transactional analysis (TA), and later in the world of integrative therapy. More recently he’s combined the principles of integrative psychotherapy with the Jungian concepts of shadow and archetypes. He believes that this combination offers one of the most powerful and transformative systems of emotional healing available today. Rod’s also the author of the book “Warrior, Magician, Lover, King – A Guide To The Male Archetypes Updated For The 21st Century”. About Marrianne: Marianne Hill has been working with individuals and couples for over 17 years now. For the last twelve years she has working intensively with the shadow. Initially working as a shadow work facilitator and coach she has adapted, expanded and enriched her approach over time. In her Healing The Shadow practice, Marianne draws on her twin passions of relationship work and body work. Combining these with shadow work creates a strong and safe framework of holding which allows profound change to take place and be integrated. She is deeply committed to providing a compassionate and transformative place for people who wish to explore and heal their shadows. https://healingtheshadow.co.uk/ Marianne and Rod now also offer the opportunity for others who wish to train in the field of shadow work. They have devised a new practitioner training course which teaches the skills involved in setting up a Healing The Shadow practice: https://www.htsorganisation.co.uk/

Steve Nobel: The ‘Hero’s Journey’

Summary: I worked with Steve back in 2016 when we were both facilitating a personal transformation weekend for coaches in Devon, UK. He’s a fascinating and lovely guy! In this podcast, we explore the ‘Hero’s Journey’ – how that has ‘shown up’ in our own lives; the challenges and adversity we face in overcoming the past and leaving behind a life of mediocrity and compromise; and how all this can prepare us perfectly as coaches to give our greatest gifts to the world. We talk about dark nights of the soul, refusing our calling, re-examining our values, the road to authenticity, the fear of scarcity / lack, money, dis-identifying from the inner critic + David Whyte the poet and Tony Robbins – amongst other things! About Steve: He is the author of 5 non-fiction books, and was a director of a not-for-profit organisation called ‘Alternatives’ (based in St. James’s Church, Piccadilly, London W1) for 13 years before beginning his own healing and awakening work. He initially trained in NLP and coaching and embraces a range of different modalities. He has now created a healing system called the ‘Soul Matrix’ and also a library of free resources which are freely available on his website and YouTube channel which has over 90k subscribers.
