A Complete Joy

From the responsibilities of life, our hobbies, friendships, dreams, and the adventures we desire to live, there is so much that needs or wants our attention. Everything seems to be fighting for the best of our focus. Left unchecked, this can become a stressful and frustrating journey of discerning what gets the best of our time versus what gets the leftovers. But there is both a solution and joy to be had in a focused life. A life focused on one's true identity and purpose in life will bear much fruit and bring much joy. Could it be that a focused life of remaining in Jesus could truly bring us joy?

Unified in Jesus

For many people, and for many reasons, Christmas can be a season of great merry and cheer. Sometimes though, the holiday season can also end up amplifying current struggles. Strained finances are further stressed by the thought of gifts and celebrations, conflicts amongst family and friends have no where to hide at holiday parties and dinners, and if you weren't already overwhelmed with stress and anxiety, chances are you just might be now. Fortunately, the Christmas season is a celebration of a promise God made to all people, that he would bless us and be with us. And as we grow in understanding who Jesus is we see that he also brings us hope and joy in the midst of our struggles.

I'm With Him

The first time I ever had pineapple was in the form of small chunks found atop a "Hawaiian pizza." My response to the small, sweet fruit was "meh". Years later on a trip to Trinidad and Tobago I experienced some freshly sliced pineapple that had just been locally harvested. It was so fresh and bursting with flavor. In no way did it compare to the soggy chunks found atop a poorly named pizza so many years ago. This experience got me thinking; what if there are other aspects of life that are like canned pineapple chunks when there is freshly sliced pineapple, that is so good, just waiting to be plucked, savored, and lived out? There is a life which Jesus desires for us all that is truly the good life; one full of flavor and satisfaction. Yet too often we find ourselves content to feast on the canned chunks of a life apart from God. In this series we explore how knowing and following Jesus brings greater satisfaction, joy, purpose, and fulfillment to our lives.

For Such a Time as This

In our modern American world, we devote much of our energy and resources towards finding comfort and keeping oneself comfortable. In a world of discomfort, comfort has become king. But what if there was a better king that brought something better than a touch of comfort? What if there were a king that offered lasting joy, peace, and satisfaction greater than any comfort this world has to offer? We may just find that being equipped to endure and embrace discomfort serves to bring significant growth and personal development. We will explore how knowing and following King Jesus brings a contentment that is greater than any worldly comforts.
