Welcome back - I'm happy you're here. Recently, I've felt the desire to reboot Mer's Net. In this episode, I explore my reasons for the reboot. My ethos with this iteration of Mer's Net is to provide a place for storytelling. I believe deeply that everyone has a story (or stories) to share. Within those stories - I want to find out what their "why" is. I'll share some of my own journey from the last four years and reconnect with past guests of the podcast. This episode is sort of a reintroduction of who I am and a new segment I'm calling "A Doula Watches...". This segment will always come with a content warning. I recently watched through my doula-in-training eyes... and with the added context of having birthed a human... I was appalled. It's an "edutaining" look at the movie from my perspective. The disclaimer before my "review" is that I know it is a COMEDY. I understand it as a comedy, but I want to demystify birth. Birth in the media is not often portrayed in the most accurate way.
