Struggles With Anxiety

Do you ever suffer from overwhelming anxiety? The kind of anxiety that weighs on you, pressing you down and taking away your motivation to get things done. Do you wake up in the night with thoughts of all the things you need to do running through your head? And let's not forget guilt - the crushing guilt we can feel about all the things that are waiting on our to-do list. \r\n\r\nThe more things build up, the harder it is to get something done, and the more anxiety we feel. This week, Fiona talks about the past months of anxiety she's been feeling, and one strategy she's using to try and regain some control and squash that anxiety back into its box! We'd love to hear your tips for managing anxiety too - don't forget to get in touch on podcast@migraineawareness.com.au , or message us on Instagram or FB at MigraineXalone . Mindfulness

Do you feel anxious? Do you get worried about the future or feel stressed about all the things you need to do? Or maybe you find yourself regretting past choices and find it hard to let go of failures. Staying fully focused on the present moment, otherwise known as mindfulness, can help us significantly reduce our anxiety and worries. When we look to the future we are faced with uncertainty which leads us to worry. When we look at the past, our mind focuses more on the negative aspects of past choices, leading to regrets. But mindfulness keeps us grounded in the present moment, reducing our anxiety and fear. This week we discuss 10 quick tips for staying mindful, and how to best use them and remind yourself to use them to stay focused on the present moment. We discuss thought patterns, using our senses, writing reminders, task focus, belly breathing, phones detachment, mindfulness exercises, family, friends, and enjoyment.
