On the second installment of our Religion and Faith series, The Millennials have a heart to heart with Brother Kareem, a 29 year old devout Muslim from Mamelodi, Pretoria in South Africa. We find out more about his personal journey from being born and raised as a Christian to becoming a Rastafarian to eventually find a home and peace in Islam. Studies indicate that people between the ages of 25 and 40 have different goals than those of their parents. Financial security and peace of mind remain priorities to an extent, but things like a steady job, home ownership and starting a family, aren’t as important to Millennials as compared to earlier generations. Is this the new normal or are we, Millennials just stuck in a prolonged adolescence?
