In what may be our newsiest show to date, Anexxia, Josh and Chris debate the fine points of the Patch 1.3 patch notes, discuss the pros and cons of server transfers, and try to calm down Chris who is over the moon at the prospect of new space missions.

Got the blues about server transfers as I realized I won’t be able to consolidate all my ladies on one server…
Started getting down to augment kit crafting business on the PTS
So far have not gotten any of the new schematics from my mission skills (can get custom patterns on crit) on the PTS
CHRIS
RL sucks! Not enough gaming time.
Space Mission + crafting was all I had time for.

CHRIS: Character Transfers Server Populations and You

Jedi’s Council
How to Decide if a Server Transfer Makes Sense for You
1) Put together a bucket list that includes:
What you enjoy to do most in game
Whether or not your server’s population has affected your ability to engage in those activities
2) Talk to your friends and your guild to see how they are feeling about your server.
Are the friends you most enjoy playing with staying on your server?
Is your guild leader planning on moving to a new server?
Do you have other guild options on your server?
3) Once the server option for you to move for has been announced, go check out their server forums.
Does the server community look like it is active in the areas you’ve ID’d as being your favorites?
If server forums are a place you spend much of your time, is the new server’s forum active and cordial?
Are there enough server-wide activities that appeal to you?
4) If you’re mostly enjoying yourself, consider staying put until things shake out
5) If you are usually the only person on your fleet at night, and want to be doing group content, start packing your bags
Make a level 1 character on the new server and spend a few hours bumming around to test out the general chat
As soon as you hit level 7, make your way to the fleet — once there check out the server economy, see how much LFG action is happening in general, etc.

Another email from From Dak
Hello friends,
I just wanted to write in to share my method for maxing crew skills for all of your characters without needing to be at your computer. Yes that’s right, level your crew skills anywhere, anytime. At work, on the road, not on a plane but on a train, on a bus, I wouldn’t do it on a bike but maybe on a hike.
I’m always hearing people say they don’t have time for crew skills and I feel your pain. I have used this method while at work or away from home to max my crew skills for my main character and 2 alts. My Jedi Knight alt has diplomacy and is light side 4 and level 400 on all three skills. Oh and BTW he’s only level 14 and just got his ship :)
All you need is:
1. A smart phone with a 3G or greater connection (it does work on an Edge network connection but its rather painful). I use an iPhone but I assume the app needed is on the Android market as well (can’t confirm).
2. Team Viewer desktop and smart phone application. This is a free remote desktop application. You can use this to access any PC from any other PC or smart phone. Download team viewer here http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/index.aspx . Follow the directions to configure Team Viewer for your desktop and smart phone.
3. Make sure that Team Viewer is running in the background on your host machine.
This solution works quite well. It takes a little getting used to but all in all the smart phone app has a good interface with pinch and zoom, full keyboard functionality, left & right click ect. Once you get past the 3-6 minute low level crew skill mission you’ll just log in every 30 minutes to an hour to keep your force grip tight on your companion’s throats. This will keep your SWTOR client running all day so make sure you keep your system temps in check. After a while your “/played” command will look pretty ugly. Just say to yourself, “I was working” to justify the hours.
One or two things you may want to note,
If you use the authenticator it’s a little bit of a pain because at least on the iphone the Team Viewer app will drop the session when switching between applications. Here is the solution: Assuming you are using the authenticator app you will need to launch it first, write down the security key, launch the Team Viewer app (remember the key is on a timer but you will have plenty of time so don’t worry), start remote session and sign in to SWTOR. Once you are singed in you don’t need to repeat this because when you’re logged out from inactivity you’ll be setting on the server selection screen and a login will not be required. To avoid this all together simply login before leaving for the day.
One more thing,
If you have other people or pets at home while your away remember to mute or turn down the sound before you leave to avoid any unnecessary freak-outs.
Thanks everyone
