MMC Episode M126 - 3 Men & and a Lady (or...the case of the Hijacked Homily)

Greetings and salutations, friend! On this month's installment of Monday Morning Catholic Monthly, your host and moderator tries to corral all three men from the panel and, as you can guess, she definitely had her hands full! It was great to have Jason and Steve K recall their many adventures but we did manage to get to the topics of the month: changes (again!) to the Roman Missal, low expectation Catholicism and -- gasp! -- hijacked homilies! Grab a cold one and settle down on a shady hammock for this very entertaining episode. As always...ENJOY!

MMC Episode M125 - Can You REALLY Hear Me Now?

Well, this month's installment has our intrepid panel wondering "could it be...SATAN?" Between Google Hangouts dropping the call and Nancy's microphone problems it's a wonder Joanne could cobble the entire thing together and put out a decent episode. We're just thankful there is no video component right now to worry about as well.  Anyway, this month Steve joined the ladies as they discussed homilies for Pentecost, Trinity Sunday and the Body & Blood of Christ, vestment fashion shows, resorted order and iPhones in ministry. You'll need to listen extra hard for Nancy's insights but they are worth it. Maybe we should take up a "second collection" to get her a new mic? ;) As is our custom, this podcast is designed for maximum participation from both panel and audience so please help us by sharing your valuable feedback. Just choose one of the following: drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.com call us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659 (we still have it and it does work!) jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this website check out our Facebook page and post something or comment there We thank you in advance for your feedback and your support of this podcast. We're happy YOU'RE happy we're back and we have lots in store in the coming month.  See you next month and as always...enjoy! P.S. - We'll post the links to the NPM Convention feeds as they become available on our Facebook page - please look for them there.

MMC Episode M124 - "Could we start again, please?"

Can you believe it?  WE'RE BAAAAAAAACK! We know...we never really said goodbye and that that's good thing. Your host and moderator, Joanne, has rebooted and restarted the podcast after a much needed hiatus and we think this is a format we can not only work with but build on. We're going MONTHLY (first Monday of every month) and AUDIO ONLY (for the foreseeable future) so we hope all of you can once again grab a cup of your favorite beverage and join us every month for some Catholic chat.  This month, the girls (Joanne, Nancy and Linda) reacquaint themselves with the audience, reveal the new podcast format and discuss celiac disease and how it affects receiving communion. It's a bit of a rough ride (that's pretty normal for us) but a good discussion nonetheless.  Thanks for keeping us with us and our Facebook page the last nine months because your concern made us think twice about giving up for good. As usual, this podcast is for YOU so please help us by giving us your valuable feedback. Here's how: drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.com call us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659 (we still have it and it does work!) jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this website check out our Facebook page and post something or comment there We look forward to getting back up to speed but please be patient with us...it could be a bit of a bumpy re-entry! And, as always...ENJOY!

MMC Episode 123 - "It's a free-for-all..."

A new video format plus no actual topic for this installment of the podcast equals one heck of a free-for-all episode! It's true we can talk about almost anything and this show proves it! Whether you view it on the new Skype format or listen to it on the good ole reliable audio we're should you'll take away something from our rapid fire ramblings. As always, thanks for being a part of this ongoing online "experiment" and remember -- everyday is a GOOD day to be a Monday Morning Catholic!  Enjoy! As we discussed on the show, we really need YOUR HELP and SUGGESTIONS for future episode topics. Here's how you can get those ideas and suggestions to us in order to help us:drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.comcall us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this websitecheck out our Facebook page and post something or comment thereSave us from ourselves because we can ramble on and on and on... MMC Episode 122 - Catholic Brideshead Revisited

Now that most of the gang is back from wherever they've been, they wanted to put their collective two cents into the subject of the new Order of Celebrating Marriage. So, Joanne is happy to oblige with a second round of Wedding talk, along with bantering about other topics like Catholics in Film, a new local radio offering and even a homily for the 22 Sunday in Ordinary Time from friend-of-the-podcast the Concord Pastor. Get comfy while we all ride out the hurricane (pick one of the three that are out and about at the moment) and catch up with our last-for-the time-being video edition of the podcast (don't worry, you can still listen to us until Joanne figures out the whole YouTube livestreaming thing...). Thank you for your support and, as always...ENJOY!Honorable MentionsAs we talked about on the podcast, the Archdiocese of Boston's own Cranberry Catholic Collaborative (Saints Martha & Mary/Lakeville, Sacred Heart/Middleboro and Saint Rose of Lima/Rochester) is producing a weekly radio show entitled THIS IS HOME on local AM station WVBF 1530 on Saturday morning from 8-9am EST. The Pastor, Fr. John Sheridan, will be host and guide for an hour of new, views and interviews on all things Catholic. A certain podcast host and moderator is slated to be a guest at some point so that in itself may be a reason to check it out. You can listen to it online HERE and follow the show on Facebook HERE. Please say a prayer that this new adventure in the New Evangelization brings the face of Christ to new ears and hearts.

MMC Episode 121 - Musical Pews

It's all about Catholic Church Music, present and future, in this installment of the podcast. Our panelists were ready, willing and able to talk AT LENGTH about their favorite subject - and, as expected, a lively exchange ensued. Come along as we talk music, Church hopping and changes in Google Hangouts (and we got FEEDBACK too!!!). As always. thanks for being a part of our community and ENJOY!Honorable MentionsLinda was fortunate to attend this year's MUSIC MINISTRY ALIVE! institute in Minneapolis and came back with some great stories of her adventures. However, we recommend YOU take a look at this important endeavor that forms and mentors the church musicians of tomorrow and consider sending your talented young musicians next year -- or at least a contribution to help this work continue. Click HERE for more information.Joanne teased at the beginning of the podcast that we were going to plug a few things Jason's got going right now. Since we didn't get to it then, we will now: Jason, his lovely wife Tiffany and adorable son Alex are expecting to welcome another son and brother into their family come February! We are very happy for them and hope you will join us in praying for a smooth pregnancy and birth. Jay can also be found on his own podcast BRUINS CHAT which is all about the NHL's Boston Bruins - check him out if you're a hockey fan.

MMC Episode 120 - Wedding Soloist

Well, truth be told, Joanne used to be one many moons ago but this episode's title reflects the fact that our host and moderator had to fly SOLO on this podcast installment while the others were on vacation. So our ever intrepid liturgist forged ahead to explain the changes to what is now being called the Order of Celebrating Matrimony and still found time to report some survey results, discuss women deacons AND share a homily for the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Not bad for someone who always worries about crashing and burning when flying solo. Grab a cold one and get informed about all the changes to the Wedding ritual - and, as always, thanks for your support. Enjoy! As promised, here's more information on the revised ritual: Liturgy Training Publications (LTP) will be presenting a virtual workshop on The Revised Rite of Marriage: Exploring the Theology of Marriage and the Changes to the Rite on Thursday, August 11, 2016 beginning at 1pm ET/12pm CT. For more information or to sign up click here. You can order your own copy of the ritual from a number of publishers, including: Liturgical Press, Catholic Book Publishing, and the USCCB.

MMC Episode 118 - Back in the Saddle Again

We probably could have whipped up a better frenzy to announce our return to podcast-land but sometimes the small, still voice gets heard better than the big noise. So...WE'RE BAAAAAAACK!Thank you so much for your patience while we took a well deserved break to regroup and refine our now every OTHER week podcast. MMC Episode 117 - Patchwork Pentecost

WOW! Joanne never guessed she would have to spend almost an entire week of free time trying to fix a very bad audio recording of the podcast but that's exactly what happened on this last installment of the old format (Could it be....SATAN?). We apologize for the delay and also for the screwed up audio on the video version but maybe this break we're taking now might be coming at the right time. We'll keep our Facebook page alive and well while we're on hiatus and we'll still be looking for YOUR IDEAS and INPUT so please post there. Until we return, stay classy and God Bless! Ciao for now!

MMC Episode 116 - A Mother of a Podcast

As we wind down the podcast in its current format (next week - Pentecost - will be our last episode in the original form) a bunch of strange tech problems cropped up, leading Joanne to believe she REALLY NEEDS some time off! Be that as it may, Linda and Joanne sat down with beverages and hashed out many topics that made them go overtime (again!). Besides the ever-present homily segment and this VOTP about priests and Mother's Day observances, the two tackled weekday holydays, funeral requirements for Catholics (which will end up being the 1st topic for the new format) and another round of 1st Eucharist hopes and dreams. Get settled in that comfy chair (or car seat) and take a listen/look - enjoy!Remember - we'll be taking a break and changing our format after May 15th this year - here's how you can get those ideas and suggestions to us in order to help us change things up a bit for YOU:drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.comcall us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this websitecheck out our Facebook page and post something or comment thereWe want to serve our community the best way we can given our own ever changing lives. MMC Episode 115 - Overcome...

The terrific twosome (Linda & Joanne) were back at it this week on the podcast, discussing the weekend's homilies, staying until the end of Mass (VOTP selection for the week), copyright faux pas, and an infamous seasonal topic: 1st Eucharist celebrations! Pull up a comfy chair and join us as we go well past the hour mark yet again -- enjoy! We'll be taking a break and changing our format after May 29th this year - here's how you can get those ideas and suggestions to us in order to help us change things up a bit for YOU:drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.comcall us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this websitecheck out our Facebook page and post something or comment thereWe want to serve our community the best way we can given our own changing lives. MMC Episode 114 - "Dearly beloved...whoops, that's copyrighted!"

Joanne was flying solo this week on the podcast...and right into trouble, it seems. She accidently left a song playing too long at the beginning of the episode that apparently went beyond the fair usage requirements of YouTube (oops!). So, she pulled the video (sorry) and edited the audio so as not to cause any further problems. Can't leave the girl to her own devices. Anyway, she managed to talk about a great homily she heard this weekend, as well as problems with the Divine Office App, the murder of Fr. Rene Robert (VOTP choice this week) and, naturally, the sudden unexpected death of the Artist (she couldn't resist and has a very interesting story about their connection). Grab your favorite beverage and party like it's 1999 - enjoy! Since we'll be changing up our podcast in the next few month, we would LOVE to hear from YOU as to what you might like to see and hear. Please use the following methods to get those ideas and suggestions to us:drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.comcall us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this websitecheck out our Facebook page and post something or comment thereOur future mission is up to YOU!
