World At War

World at War #11 – I’d like to buy your Splorfa

The wonderful mister Gavin Verhey joins us in discussing our cards. He points out the many, many, many flaws in our cards, and we reluctantly promise to change our cards accordingly. Some of our cards that you know and love will be critiqued by Gavin, and may even receive his praise. It is, however, unlikely… Your Host(s):  Chris Lansdell, Alex, Joe, Jack LaCroix, and Anthony Voloshin Show’s Email:  mtgworldatwar@gmail.com Show’s Twitter:  http://www.twitter.com/MTGWorldatWar NOTE: This Podcast may contain explicit and adult only language in it. chewieMore Posts - Website

World at War #10 – In the Garage

On this episode, you’ll hear our wonderful hosts talking about their mechanics. No, they won’t be advising each other about where to get their cars fixed, they’ll be talking about some cards! The names we came up for for our mechanics are Enrage and Paranoia, as well as the already wonderful Shallow Grave. Joe is on again for this episode, so, if you liked him on number 9, you’ll love him on number 10! As always, you can send your comments, questions, concerns, and designs to our email. We read every one of them, and try to reply as well. World at War #7 – Watch where you put your legend

On this magical episode of World at War, you will get to hear us talk about our Legends. No, not those legends, the ones we came up with for each tribe! Chris’ Angry Short Person, Jack’s Troll and Mudkip, err Merfolk, and my Kitty Cat have a “Legendary” party that you won’t want to miss. Our homework for this week is for each of us to come up with a four or five card cycle. Remember, we are open to suggestions, and greatly appreciate it when we receive them. World at War #6 – What’s a Trunculata?

On this episode, we name our tribes, and give them back-stories. Also, the long-awaited 5 cards from each of us are shared and discussed. For homework, we have to make one Legendary Creature for each tribe, and give them all back-stories. Join us next week on World at War where we discuss My Little Pony, and Mudkipz! World at War #5 – Trolls are Green!

—iTunes Explicit— In this wonderful episode of World at War, we decide to hold off on telling you about our cards, because we felt the need to solidify the set’s tribes and lore. As you can tell, we figured that Trolls will be our green tribe, Dwarfs for red, Cats for white, and Merfolk were obviously blue. We go into the philosophies of each tribe, and talk about the reasons for suspecting each tribe of the Zombie plague. Our homework this week is to find a name for one or more tribe(s), and also to finish making the 5 cards(each) from the last episode. We are open to suggestions, so don’t hesitate to email us! World at War #4 – Our Homemade R&D

—iTunes Explicit— World at War has gotten a drastic hormone injection. We will no longer be a casual magic podcast. We will be designing cards instead! In this episode, we come up with a setting for the first set to be designed. Chris, being the smart Canadian that he is, came up with a fantastic idea for the plane. On the plane, there has been a Zombie outbreak. Its inhabitants are all blaming each other, but the Merfolk stay out of the argument for some reason. It turns out that they are behind the infestation, and plan on wiping out all other races on the plane. Stay tuned for next week’s episode, where we will each bring some preliminary cards to the table. Expect Jack’s broken cards, Aleks’ subgame creator, Chris’ answers to mana leak, and my AMAZING cards. World at War #3 – Marsupial Justice

—iTunes Explicit— What has two Vensers, a Jace, a pouch, and is loads of fun? This Kangaroo Court game, of course! If you love Magic variants, you’ll love this episode. We play the most ridiculous game of Magic that you might ever listen to. You know it is a fun game when you add Planechase cards halfway through. We determine that Angels, Demons, and Kor each have only one bone. Sensei’s Divining Top turns into the best card ever, and my Tumble Magnets somehow give me a Vedalken Shakles. Check out the “Jace” comic at http://inkwelllooter.blogspot.com/2011/04/32-jaces.html While you’re there, check out some of his tokens and other drawings. (Chris’s last name is LANSDELL. It has an S. ) Your Host(s): Chris Lansdell, Alex, Jack LaCroix, and Anthony Voloshin Show’s Email: mtgworldatwar@gmail.com Show’s Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/MTGWorldatWar NOTE: This Podcast may contain explicit and adult only language in it. chewieMore Posts - Website

World at War #2 – Tea Time with Chris

—iTunes Explicit— In this episode we talk about some cards from M12 that excite us. Andrew has left us, so Chris Lansdell has taken his place! Chris argues that Mono Black control is a viable tournament deck, and we try to dissuade him. We share our views on Jace, Mill Card of the Year, and I share my joy of chaos Magic. We improved our preconstructed Commander decks, with Chris and Aleks taking the lead. In the end, it becomes a head to head showdown between the two of them. Chris ends up pulling the game out of the bag, and cusses all of us out furiously! Send us your feedback, and any ways that you can think of to improve the show. World at War #1 – Goat Herding and Turd Monsters

The first episode, and it is the best so far! In this episode, we introduce ourselves, and talk about the new commander preconstructed decks. We give you our thoughts, and views on them, and, just like on every episode to be, a game of Magic: The Gathering will be played on the air. We set four of the five Commander decks, Counterpunch being left out, against each other. All throughout the game, we keep up discussion about the decks. How can they be improved?”, “What kinds of strategies should be implemented”, and stuff like that. In the end, the mysterious Alex is victorious, but not without any battles with the rest of us. On next weeks episode, you can expect improved versions of the Commander preconstructed decks, with a limit to the amount of cards that can be changed.  We will talk about the M12 spoilers, and look forward to our thoughts on Jac3 (that’s Jace the 3rd). Goats and turd monsters are sure to be present, and Riku will stare longingly at his reflection, again. Send us your feedback, and any ways that you can think of to improve the show.
