The lengths the killers go in this week's Murder He Wrote is not the norm. These are the stories of individuals that had obviously lost track of reality but this didn't stop them from making calculated decisions and plans which would result in both death and a mystery.

This episode starts a bit differently, it begins with the story of a woman that's been called every name of the book, she's been connected to dozens of brutal murders but hasn't killed a soul. (I think) In this episode, I'll introduce you to Sondra London and then two new true crime cases. One involves a funeral and a lie while the other is about a web of lies in Wisconsin in the 1980s.

Murder He Wrote begins in Long Island in the 1980s with a popular cheerleader that was supposed to be living the best years of her life, instead, it was a nightmare. The second murder case involves a high altitude love triangle in Belgian and finally a mystery with multiple versions of events in Australia. Three cases, two involve serial killers, Robert Hansen was a monster living in Alaska while Mark Twitchell of Canada had a passion but thankfully didn't know what he was doing. A girl that was just looking to make friends while in college gets caught up in something evil, lawyer and his wife are executed while sleeping in their bed, was it a hit, or was there something more sinister a play. Lastly, Kay Mortenson was a retired college professor and gun enthusiast with a son and daughter-in-law that shared a unique story after finding their father murdered in his own bathroom.

A young Wisconsin mother, Nicole VanderHeyden is brutally murdered and while the case seems obvious to outsiders, technology is able to help them determine who's guilty. The first case this week covers the gruesome murder of a young actress/model that had moved to Hollywood to find stardom but ended up finding something much worse. The final case, after two days of no contact from her brother, Ethel Jackson called his neighbor to see if she could check on him after fearing trouble. Misdirection is the theme of the first story, a man is found off the coast of England with no sign of identification except for a tattoo and a watch.  How he ended up at the bottom of the Atlantic is as bizarre as the person responsible for his death. We also learn about a tragic case of murder in a case that may leave you with more questions than answers and the final case speaks to the dangers of doing business.

The Hated documents the story of three very different murders where "The Hated" is either the victim or the killer. Ken McElroy bullied a small Missouri town for decades until people suddenly had enough. Robert Chambers grew up a child of privilege, hanging with the elite until one tragic evening in Central Park, and finally, a woman who changed America and quickly became the most hated woman in America. Madlyn Murray O'Hair has a target on her back.

Like many crimes, the three cases this week involve greed, lust, and lies but what's different this week is two of the cases also involve cement tombs. Abraham Shakespeare life changed when he won the lotto but money wasn't the only surprise. Doug Benton was an amateur bodybuilder with a girlfriend who was unique in their community but this case is sure to leave more questions than answers and finally the story of Rachel Siani, beautiful, young, and troubled but was her death an accident or murder?

A marriage can be the best or worst thing to ever happen, especially when it ends in murder. Two very different stories, the first involves a couple of newlyweds, Ryan and Sarah Widmer of Ohio, and a case that may leave you with more questions then answers then the story of Ben and Erika Sifirt, a couple vacationing in Maryland that meets another couple which is when things take a very bizarre turn.

Lies. There's never less than a dozen in all cases of murder, this week we examine two classic cases from the early 1900s that involve men with multiple wives, one a barber in LA and another a Vet in Wisconsin. The final case examines the murder of a choir teacher in Texas and a story that's full of twists.

Ending the worst year in our memories with the story of the Weepy Voiced Killer, a killer in St. Paul, Minnesota that called into the police to confess his crimes. We then head south to tell the story of a woman that tried to do good and what happens when jealousy kills.

Three murder cases that I find fascinating include a story from St. Paul, MN, another involves a 3 am call to 911 which revealed a twisted tale of murder and lust and how the execution of a mother and father lead police down a strange trail that involved the internet and allegedly the CIA.

Sister Margaret Ann Pahl was the chapel caretaker at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, and the morning before Easter in 1980, was discovered stabbed to death. The murder was a shock to the church and community and it took investigators years to bring the killer to justice for their sin.

This week we visit the case of two victims, one in Kentucky, a handsome lawyer misses a date with a beauty queen and is found dead. Our second case examines the disappearance of a medical student who seemed to disappear.

Helle Craft was an airline stewardess and mother of three who wanted a divorce after finding out her husband was cheating. The circumstances of her murder are so outrageous it ended up inspiring an Oscar-winning film.

A young sick girl's mother ends up dead in a story that left police puzzled. Gypsy Rose was a sick girl that needed constant care, she loved princesses and fairy tales, and while her mother did whatever she could to care for her sick daughter this story would not have a happy ending.

I'm revisiting one of my favorite cases for the very first episode of Murder He Wrote. This is the case of Christa Worthington, a case that I've learned more about in the last few years including meeting some of the people that have dug into the case.
