My Eyes Adored You (Frankie Valli) - A romantic cover song from 1974 "My Eyes Adored You" (original working title, "Blue Eyes in Georgia") is a popular song written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan. It was originally recorded by The Four Seasons in early 1974. After the Motown label balked at the idea of releasing it, the recording was sold to lead singer Frankie Valli for $4000. After rejections by Capitol, Atlantic, and other labels, Valli succeeded in getting the recording released on Private Stock Records, but the owner/founder of the label wanted only Valli's name on the label. The single was released in the U.S. in November 1974 and topped the Billboard Hot 100 in March 1975. The single was Valli's second number 1 hit as a solo artist, and remained there for one week, being knocked out of the top spot by another Crewe/Nolan-penned song, "Lady Marmalade". In this cover version I sang all lead and backing vocals. Most backing vocals were tunisono or two-voice harmonies - at the end of the song (starting at 3:01) I added a high-pitched third backing vocal harmony. Hope you like it. Listen and enjoy! Nachdem Motown jedoch kein Interesse an einer Veröffentlichung hattem wurde der Song für 4.000 US-DOllar an den Leadsänger Frankie Valli verkauft. Nach Ablehnungen durch Capitol, Atlantic und anderen Labels, konnte Valli die Aufnahme bei Private Stock Records veröffentlichen, jedoch wollte der Eigentümer und Gründer dieses Label ausschließlich Vallis Namen auf der Platte haben. Die Single wurde in den USA im November 1974 veröffentlicht und errecihte Platz 1 der Billboard Hot 100 im März 1975. Die SIngle war Vallis zweiter Nummer-Eins-Hit als Solo-Künstler und blieb für eine WOche an der Spitze, bevor er von einem weiteren Crewe/Nolan-Song abgelöst wurde: "Lady Marmalade". In dieser Cover-Version habe ich alle Haupt- und Hintergrund-Stimmen gesungen. Die meisten Hintergrundstimmen sind im Original Unisono-Linien oder zweistimmige Vokalsätze.
