“You are no ghost any more”, it sounds very cliché but I love the sound of this words. My today’s guest is nowhere to find in the web. He loves Ireland’s music as I love my ancestor’s roots on Celtics sounds from Galicia, my 3 grandparents were Gallegos and celt pipes is a traditional wind instrument in Galicia. But this episode is not about me, is about my guest who is hard to catch, unless you cross path with him on a metro station. As a Celtic rooted guy, I met Billy while I was going to take my train back to work after a doctor’s appointment. His fiddler flooded the metro air with Irish tunes. I was going down the escalators while I watched him play his violin (fiddler if we are going to talk peasantry way). I stopped and enjoy his music and then we had a small chat and exchange our phones. Since then we were texting each other to schedule this recording. Finally, last Tuesday, 11/26/2019, all planets aligned and we did it. Finding everything about Billy was hard since is nowhere to find in the web. He called himself a ghost until now. BTW, Matt Molloy do play for The Chieftains, Billy was not wrong on his Molloy’s band name. On this episode, there is no music audio, because Billy had troubles converting his few videos in Ireland into an MP3 format. Anyhow, just close your eyes and think about some Irish tunes and Billy playing it for you, I did it while I was asking him questions.
If you happen to live or visit Friendship Heights and you see a young tall guy playing the violin in the Metro Station of this town, you should stop, listen to him play, and tell him that you know all about him because my podcast. ???? Tell him, Billy you are not ghost anymore and we love your music. Thank You! If you do that, then I have met one of my goals, that you meet one of my guests and that you enjoy what really music is all about: building a bridge between people that never thought of crossing paths.
