One Piece at a Time

All our hosts get together to receive some very special guests: One Piece fans! We collected thoughts from straw hats attending Funimation's OP Lightbox event on what makes the anime great, and discuss our favorite things about being a One Piece fan celebrating the 20th Anniversary.  

Franky departs, and so do we! On our last podcast episode of the season we finally get the crew back together when Usopp finds a way to mend things with the Straw Hats, and we witness their new shipwright say his farewell to Water 7 in the most scandalous way. Not before ending our 20th Anniversary binge on a cliffhanger our hosts are still raving about!  

We say our last goodbyes to the Going Merry after she rescued the Straw Hats from Enies Lobby, and Luffy throws the biggest (and most expensive) party in Water 7's recent history, much to Nami's dismay. Our hosts also welcome special guest Caitlin Glass, who talks to us about our dear Vivi and the One Piece music she got to work on! 

Aaron and Josellie finally get to see Luffy’s Third Gear in the ultimate fight against Lucci. The Straw Hats hold the Bridge of Hesitation and Kokoro is a… mermaid? 

Our hosts appreciate Nami’s kickass skills against Kalifah with her upgraded Clima-Tact and declare Sniper King the MVP of the episode for his crucial part in setting Robin free. Also, where does Granny Kokoro keep getting all these wine bottles? Featuring a special guest interview with Colleen Clinkenbeard, the English voice of Luffy!

It’s a CP9 showdown this week in One Piece at a Time! Each Straw Hat faces a lethal agent as they try to get the five keys to free Robin. Chopper makes a tough choice and scares Josellie and MJ when he turns into a monster, but they both have a laugh when Kaku tries to make giraffes happen.  

We take the jump to the Tower of Law quite a few times and have a look back at each of the Straw Hats' journeys before the story at Enies Lobby continues. Josellie explores the Straw Hat Theater shorts and picks Chopper Man as her favorite (to no one's surprise!)

Our hosts cry for Ohara and Nico Robin’s tragic story but find a moment for tears of joy when Franky uses his Coup de Boo. ????????

The Straw Hats begin the storming of Enies Lobby! Our hosts meet more members of CP9, gasp as Zoro makes the sea train fly and cheer when Luffy faces 10k soldiers on his own. When will they reach Robin???

Jonna and Josellie try their best to figure out how Zoro and Luffy can make a hole in a wave as the Straw Hats try to catch up to the Puffing Tom in time to rescue Nico Robin. 

Our hosts explore Franky’s past and how the sea train was built. In the present, Josellie finally learns the truth about Robin’s betrayal and the wish she would sacrifice everything for. 

CP9 reveals their true faces and Josellie feels shocked and betrayed. Franky helps Usopp solve the mystery of who repaired the Merry in Skypiea and Jonna gives us some insight on the true story behind it. 

Josellie starts losing her patience while waiting to find out more about CP9 and Robin's motivations while MJ holds back tears for the Merry's condition.  Original music for the podcast composed by Austin Black. 

After Nami runs over the villagers with her waver, the Straw Hats make their way to the beautiful water city. Jonna and Josellie can’t get over the aesthetics and wish they could explore Water 7 on a Yagara. Also, there's such a thing as a sea train?

Our hosts witness Luffy's relentlessness when it comes to his crew! The Straw Hats get their memories stolen by a seahorse and wonder if Zoro's still on their side, while Josellie and MJ analyze if Nami is taking the right course of action when she forgets she already liberated her village and bails.

The Straw Hats face the Foxy crew in a Davy Back Fight in Long Ring Long Land! Luffy will try to keep his crew together while our hosts analyze Foxy’s tactics and enjoy all the entertainment value this well-crafted sports event has to offer. 

Our hosts meet the "newest straw hat,” Condoriano, and try to figure out which G-8 shenanigan is funniest. The real Straw Hats escape G-8 the same way they came in and reach a very loooong island.  

The bell rings for Shandora and Skypiea comes to an end! The Straw Hats fall from the sky, where Luffy gets in a battle of wits with Commander Jonathan and our hosts declare Robin the MVP of the G-8 arc for her sneaky moves.

Sanji uses the power of love to find Nami and we finally learn the true story of Noland the Liar and the Great Warrior of Shandoria (we’re not crying, you’re crying).
