Stephen Clark is one of my best friends and a wonderful bass-baritone that has had immense success in the young artist circuit. In the past two years Stephen has worked with Seagle Music Colony, Tulsa Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Sarasota Opera, Saratoga Opera, Chataqua Opera, and will be a part of Central City Opera this summer as an Apprentice Artist singing the role of Angelotti in Tosca. Stephen is one of the hardest working singers I've had the pleasure of knowing and we've been through thick and thin together. In this episode we talk about what inspired him to pursue singing, the highs, the lows, and what it takes to have a great audition season. Episode 17 : Rena Cook

It is a pleasure of mine to bring you this interview today. I've always been attracted to studies of the voice in all sorts of different fields. Accent and dialect work is something that has seemed extremely fascinating to me, and this summer after seeing Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's production of Billy Elliot, I was enchanted with the color of the language and was excited to hear that Oklahoma had it's very own residential expert in this realm.Rena Cook is Professor Emeritus in the University of Oklahoma’s Helmerich School of Drama where she taught voice, speech and dialects.  She is also the founder of Vocal Authority, a training and development business created to serve corporate clients, including politicians, attorneys and CEOs who want to use their voice in more commanding and authentic ways.  She is also a distinguished actress, key note presenter, voice over artist and professional voice trainer. Rena holds a Master of Arts degree in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Science degree in Guidance & Counseling from the University of Tulsa and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Education from the University of Arizona.  Website: http://renacook.com/"Breath in Action - The Art of Breath in Vocal and Holistic Practices" by Jane Boston and Rena Cook

Episode 10 : Andi Dema

I had an absolute blast recording this interview with my friend and colleague, Andi Dema. Andi and I met during Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's production of Oklahoma! I had the privilege of sharing a dressing room with this guy and got to know his story. I deeply respect Andi's ideas on acting and felt the need to share his perspective on the craft with you, the good people of the internet. This show is not only informative, but it's also hysterical. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll walk away being changed for the better.

Episode 9 : Tim Rogan

I had the pleasure of interviewing Tim Rogan while he was in town to performing the role of Tony Elliot with Lyric Theatre's production of Bill Elliot. I had never seen Rogan perform in person prior to this interview...but now that I have, I am blown away with this guy's presence on stage, physically and vocally. You can tell by this interview that Tim is passionate about acting, singing and living the life of a professional performer. He allows every experience to be one of learning and despite being a young man, he shows wisdom way beyond his years. Having spent two years on national tours, (Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and Lancelot in Camelot) Tim is now taking the big apple by storm. Along with his performing credentials, Tim also has a lot of "iron cred." He definitely lives the lift big, sing big, look great doing it lifestyle and allows his training to compliment his performing goals. I learned a great deal from doing this interview and I know you all will as well.
