Mike Patterson graduated from Florida State University and moved from Florida to New York in 1987. He started as a teacher in the New York City school system. A few years after becoming a Christian he became a full-time minister serving in the Bronx and Harlem. That year he was called back to serve in the ministry in Atlanta, where he currently serves an elder in the Greater Atlanta Church of Christ with his wife, Shawn.
