67: Too Good To Go Local GOODfood+wine podcast December 2021 © Paige Donner

Episode 67: Local GOODfood+wine Season 8 - 12/ 2021 Happy Holidays everyone! This month, we bring you a condensed version of Local GOODfood+wine, in honor of the busy-ness of this season and all its festivities. I have for you in Episode 67 of our podcast an interview with Luisa Ravoyard who is France’s Communications Director for Too Good To Go. Is food waste something you think about during the holidays? It is for me! Because while so many go hungry during the holidays - a travesty especially egregious during the holiday season when bounty and abundance is seemingly rubbed in our faces constantly by the industrial advertising complex - tons of food, perfectly good, edible food, is in fact thrown out.

64: Castor & Pollux LocalGOODfood+wine podcast July 2021 © Paige Donner

Castor & Polllux - Please Don’t Feed The Elephants.... To The Parisians Episode 64: Local GOODfood+wine © Paige Donner The longer one lives in Paris, the more one realizes how little you really know about the city and its rich history. Take the case of Castor & Pollux. These were two famous elephants who lived at the Jardin d’Acclimatation over in the 16th arrondissement. Today it sits next to the Fondation Louis Vuitton. But at that time, in 1870, it was home to many an exotic animal. For this episode 64 of Local GOODfood+wine, the wrap up to our Season 7, we’re delving into a page of culinary history, namely Parisian culinary history. This podcast will be brief and somewhat gruesome. Listeners beware… Complete show notes at http://localfoodandwine.wordpress.com and http://localfood.wine Music: ‘Fairly Odd Perspective’ by Lowther and Bryan, courtesy FreeSoundTrackMusic.com Intro/Outro BadAss by BensoundMusic

61: Wine & Music, The Essentials of A Good Life, Local GOODfood+wine

Episode 61 Local GOODfood+wine French Wine & Music Tasting Playlist Show notes: http://localfoodandwine.wordpress.com http://localfood.wine @localfoodwine French Wine & Music Playlist I hope you are all enjoying the final days of 2020 and have many good reasons lined up for looking forward to 2021! With that sentiment, here's a drinks playlist. Since Dry January has officially been cancelled this year, this list of wines and champagne can whisk you cheerily into the first days of 2021... Music and wine are, of course, two of life's most essential ingredients. And French music and French wines are two of the things I cherish most about the French culture. Bearing that in mind, I kick off our Holiday Drinks playlist with a song and a bottle of champagne. Because if there's any essential lesson in life, it's that everything should start with a bottle of champagne. Feel free to reach out with any questions and comments! @localfoodwine

60: Thanksgiving '20; Pancakes In The Marais, Paris Local GOODfood+wine © Paige Donner

Celebrating 400 years of the Mayflower's landing on the shores of America is cause for celebration. To think all that has been accomplished these past 400 years. We have much to be grateful for. Please find in our show note on LocaFood.wine the short video of the Wampanoag Tribe entiteld, We Are Still Here. The tradition of fall harvest feasts actually were a native American tradition that we took from them... and eventually renamed Thanksgiving. And with that, I turn to our feature interview for this month's podcast: the author of Pancakes in Paris and the sequel, Let Them Eat Pancakes. Craig Carlson is a Parisian who opened the beloved Breakfast In America restaurants decades ago in Paris. When you Oh-So-Need a big breakfast of thick buttermilk pancakes drenched in maple syrup and melted butter this is where you go. And in the winters, they offer the bottomless cup of coffee and a slice of pie in the late afternoons. Craig and his partner, Julien Chameroy, speak to us this episode about his books and about being the most famous American pancake purveyor in Paris.
