Barry returns after a several month hiatus to share how recent events in his personal life have taught him to separate the artist from his personal self.

Oftentimes, social media influencers are looked upon as famous, important, and successful. While their curated feeds exaggerate their finest qualities, offer careful insight into struggles they want you to see, and expand upon their feelings of self-importance as a voice with a platform, it doesn't necessarily equate to them being successful in their field or having the qualities to achieve their goals. 

In this week's episode, Barry discusses the differences and similarities between visibility and success. Listen in for a chat on how they can be entirely separate or interwoven and how visibility has shifted from the work of organizations to that of the individual.

Since September 11, 2001, the United States has lived in a constant state of fear. Whether this relates to war, economic collapse, and political turmoil or mass death from a pandemic, climate disaster, and intellectual decline, there is constant bombardment of frightening news that we have easy access to digest on a daily basis. In this episode, Barry discusses how art is often a reflection of the times we live in and how his experience watching new choreography over the past two decades has pushed him to believe that we are living in the modern dark ages.

With so many styles of ballet training, there are a variety of ways to execute the same foundational steps depending on the teacher’s opinions at the front of the room.
