akaADAM/ This is Electric Residency/ Todd Terry/ 17.9.16hr1

Saturday 17 September 10pm – Midnight (GMT): akaADAM returns this Saturday night with all things current, classic and future in House. Expect plenty of exclusives and a guest mix from the legend Todd Terry. TODD TERRY Grammy Award nominated DJ/Producer Todd Terry has been engulfed in dance music since he first started listening to European dance music records while growing up in Brooklyn. Already devoted to turntables, he heard something different in those tracks, and he “went for the difference”. “I never got a break in New York, but England happened right away, so I catered to them.” In any event, the Todd Terry sound was born. By 1988, Todd Terry hit big in England and Europe, and his notoriety was making its way back to the U.S. In addition to DJ appearances, Todd was cutting his classic underground tracks A Day In The Life, Weekend, and Can You Party, released under monikers such as the Todd Terry Project, House Of Gypsies, and Royal House, all considered essential and ground breaking. In the mid 90’s, the Ministry of Sound’s eponymous UK label released A Day In The Life, a collection of Todd Terry tracks that had been causing dance floor panic. That then led the way to a deal with Mercury Records allowing him to set up a context in which to work with his favorite singers and performers. The first release, Keep On Jumpin’ on featured a vocal workout from super-divas Martha Wash and Jocelyn Brown, together for the first time ever. The song became a top 10 UK crossover pop hit and worldwide smash. Todd followed with the anthem ‘Something Going On’, a top 5 UK crossover pop hit. All the while, Todd continued to break new ground as a Producer/Remixer. From SNAP to Annie Lennox to George Michael to Bjork, Todd’s mixes bridge the ground between club cool and commercial accessibility. In 1995, his remix for Everything But The Girl’s Missing became a worldwide smash, giving the British duo their first ever hit. He then rode the charts with mixes for Garbage (Stupid Girl), The Cardigans (Love Fool), Everything But The Girl (Wrong), 10,000 Maniacs (More Than This), Jamiroquai (Alright), The Cardigans (Been It), and The Lightning Seeds (You Showed Me),.among others. He also produced a Robin S track (Givin’ You All That I’ve Got) for the multi-platinum Space Jam soundtrack. INK/Distinctive Records 2005 release The Todd Terry Trilogy: Past, Present & Future on 3 x CD & 10 x 12” vinyl has inspired Todd fans both old and new with over 30 Todd classics and 10 new Todd songs. Todd is also releasing a barrage of new singles on Blanco y Negro, Elementary Group, and Manifesto/Mercury (who are also re-releasing the ‘Keep On Jumpin’ and ‘Something Going On’ in 2006). Ministry of Sound has licensed Philippe B Vs. Todd Terry ‘Can You Feel It (Can You Party)’ for a major 2006 release, a new version of the Todd classic Royal House ‘Can You Party’. Todd Terry All Stars feat. Kenny Dope, DJ Sneak, Terry Hunter, & Tara McDonald’s ‘Get Down’ will be released in 2007 on Strictly Rhythm. This red hot single is the first proper original release on the re-launched legendary label. ‘Strictly Todd Terry’ compilation mixed by Todd Terry will be released in 2007 on Strictly Rhythm. Todd’s mix follows installments by Masters at Work and Tiefschwarz in this newly launched series. Todd is one of the world’s most celebrated figures in dance music. With almost two decades of dance floor domination under Todd’s belt the quality of his productions goes from strength to strength. WE ARE NOW DAB IN CAMBRIDGE!

akaADAM/ This is Electric Residency/ Dario D'Attis/ 20.8.16hr2

Saturday 20 August 10pm – 00am: Dario D’Attis akaADAM returns this Saturday with the August edition of his Saturday Residency welcoming Dario D’Attis with an exclusive guest mix. Dario D’Attis is someone whose passion for music and deep feelings are reflected in his productions. Growing up as the son of a drum playing father (in the band Camaleonti) Dario has loved music since forever, with his father as his main inspiration. As he got into his teens, Dario fell under the spell of garage and New Jersey house (as played by the likes of Djaimin from Coleur 3 and the legend that is Kiss FM and Zanzibar’s Tony Humphries. Listening to the latter’s show is what has gone on to influence Dario’s tastes and he bought his first vinyl at the age of 15, starting what has turned out to be an illustrious career as a DJ just a year later. Building a reputation in his hometown of Schaffhausen by playing in clubs and bars like Kaktus, Dario started his own party Amaro in 1997 with two friends. It played out in several spots in the city and soon more places around Switzerland. Before long, Dario was recognized as a DJ of great charm and also started headlining at Club Oxa in Zurich. Around the same time he also had a radio show called Dancemachine that included national and international guests and in 1999 he started producing on his own. His infectious, fresh sounding debut came on a small Swiss label and since 2001 he has built his own recording studio and has continued to turn out fantastic dancefloor tracks. Nowadays Dario is releasing his productions on labels like Hive Audio in Switzerland, Nervous Records in New York and SSOH from France and has garnered an international reputation as being a fine DJ and equally unique producer.

akaADAM returns this Saturday with the June edition of his Saturday Residency – welcoming Josh Butler with an EXCLUSIVE guest mix: From the North of England to dance floors across the globe, Josh Butler has made serious headway with his high-caliber House sound. The talented northerner has become one of house music’s most revered talents over the last couple of years, boasting a plethora of acclaimed releases on prestigious labels (Noir, Cajual, Avotre, MTA, MadTech); gigs at some of the world’s best clubs and events including The Warehouse Project Manchester, Mint Club Leeds, Toffler Rotterdam, Chibuku Liverpool, Arches Glasgow, a residency at Sankeys Ibiza, and a plethora of key festival plays throughout Europe. Several industry awards later (DJ Mag Award 2014 and Beatport Award 2014) and with frequent support from industry players such as Joris Voorn, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Kerri Chandler, Steve Lawler, Heidi and Noir all to his name, Josh continues to rise through the ranks of house music. Josh’s undiluted brand of house music and ‘less is more’ approach has seen him tour all four corners of the globe. In 2015, he scored his first summer-long Ibiza residency at Sankeys (plus additional dates at Amnesia and Mambo), multiple festival plays including SW4, Parklife, Secret Garden Party and his debut in the United States. With a whirlwind couple of years behind him and many accolades and personal goals already achieved, Josh Butler is all about building that positive momentum towards new and compelling heights. akaADAM/ This is Electric Residency/ Dirty Doering/ 22.5.16hr2

akaADAM returns to Electric, direct from his new home of Barcelona – and he’s bringing the sunshine with three more EXCLUSIVE guest mixes: DIRTY DOERING If all went according to plan you wouldn’t be the least interested in this text. Indeed the story of young Velten who leaves his hometown in the Black Forest to find an orderly apprenticeship in Berlin and who grows up over time – such a story wouldn’t be very gripping. Fortunately there is a club in Berlin that is called „Ostgut“ and people like Velten who like to make irrational decisions from time to time. The outcome is foreseeable: instead of sitting in the subway on his way to work, on a Monday morning, Velten much rather joins his pals in his run down flat for an after hour. Luckily these pals not only share their passion for sheer endless nights, but also start to organise event- series, open bars or turn a rundown Berlin backyard into a club. This is exactly the path that turned Velten within a short period of time into a DJ, producer and finally KATERMUKKE label boss DIRTY DOERING. In the beginning it’s more about beer and liquor. Velten trades the office-desk for the bar counter and lends the prospective Berlin Techno-celebrities a hand on their way to delirium. The fact that he regularly provides them with his own DJ-Mix tapes comes in quite handily. Back then his sets are inspired by the same staggering hedonistic vibe, that lures more and more people into the small bar between Holzmarkt street and the bank of the Spree: Bar 25 is slowly making waves. Here, they’ve been waiting for someone like Velten. Eventually DIRTY DOERING becomes an essential part of BAR 25. The guy behind the counter turns into a resident DJ, the queue in front of the club is getting longer and longer and friends become family. Outside of Berlin DIRTY DOERING is in everyone’s ears by 2010 the latest: With „I Would“ and the fitting video, full of colourful, out of time moving people, he not only reflects the sound but primarily the lifestyle of BAR 25, to the point where the whole world wants to dance with him on the shores of the Spree river. Since then a lot has happened: DJ Bookings from New York to Tokyo, BAR 25 has been shut down and re- opened and meanwhile DIRTY DOERING has burnt down all dance floors with every new release or remix he has released. Eventually the BAR 25 era came to an end and the Kater-era started. Naturally it was Velten, who had the idea of founding the appending label KATERMUKKE. He’s been releasing music on the label ever since – no less colourful and varied than his DJ Sets. Whether it’s deep or impellent, weirdly enchanted or crystal clear – DIRTY DOERING and KATERMUKKE don’t tie themselves down but still know where the journey should go: Onwards, escaping daily routines, straight ahead into this insanely liberating feeling, where the beat means everything and the thought of the morning after counts for nothing. LOST IN MUSIC.

akaADAM/ This is Electric Residency/ Justin Jay/ 22.5.16hr1

akaADAM returns to Electric, direct from his new home of Barcelona – and he’s bringing the sunshine with three more EXCLUSIVE guest mixes: Sunday 22 May 7 – 9am: JUSTIN JAY Launching his music career from his freshman dorm room, the Los Angeles-based 22-year-old producer/DJ, Justin Jay, has already seen success that extends well beyond his years, but he is surely not resting on any laurels as he further refines his expertise as a true artist. As the youngest member of the dirtybird family, Justin has seen support by the likes of Claude VonStroke, Jamie Jones, Disclosure, Tiga, and George Fitzgerald, among many others, while also being recognized as a “Future Star” by trusted tastemakers, such as Pete Tong, and fans alike. At the heart of his music, Justin Jay manifests his soul, funk, and jazz roots in a nostalgic, yet forward-thinking manner that yields his unmistakable brand of house music, which has won him releases on labels such as dirtybird, Culprit, Southern Fried Records, & Pets Recordings. His productions have also put him in the spotlight on club and festival stages across the globe, from LA’s HARD Summer to the dirtybird residency at Sankeys Ibiza, where he held crowds in his grasp, taking fans on a rollercoaster of energy and music ranging from deep house to breakbeat to techno. akaADAM/ This is Electric Residency/ Skelesys/ 17.4.16hr1

Sunday 17 April 7 – 9am (GMT): SKELESYS Live act and producer Skelesys from Buenos Aires has a strong musical background drawing influences from Rock, Punk and Synth Pop. After several years of playing in bands he became interested in electronic music production, where he discovered a whole new world that would change his direction. Skelesys’ sound could be defined as a neat mixture of minimalism and techno. Combining heavy bass and futuristic melodies, he is not afraid of experimenting and looking deep into the void. His releases can be found on Ninefont Music, Creepy Finger, UMAS, 13z Rec, Groove Division and Tlaloc Records. Soon to move to Berlin, we’re guessing you’ll be seeing and hearing a lot more of this one! If you are looking for tight production and ‘that underground sound’ then you do not want to miss this!
