Radioactive

Radio programme recorded during the evaluation seminar of the Radioactive project, in Bali (Indonesia). All the partners involved took this chance to put in common their experiences about the project.

The event was organized by Young Pride, in collaboration with Everything is possible, the British Council and Youth in action, and it allowed a lot of different young people from all over the UK to have a great time together. This is the second program we are doing about it. Last time we talk about all the up to 15 different workshops included in that experience. Today we are going to talk about our workshop, about the radio workshop we organized. Well, it was actually organized both by Aculco Radio and Frances Holling, a very kind woman from BCB (Bradford Community Broadcasting), which is a friend radio station for the people of Radioactive. In our workshop we met some young people, young volunteers, who were curious about how to make radio, about the process to create a radio show. We had a one-hour conversation and we talked about their experiences as volunteers, hoping to create a radio program with their comments in the end. And this program is the result.

This program today is about a Young Meeting that took place in Leeds between the first and the second of March, this year (2013). The event was organized by Young Pride, in collaboration with Everything is possible, the British Council and Youth in action, and it helped more than one hundred young people from all over the UK to gather together and have a very prolific time. After the arrivals of the participants, the second day included up to 15 different workshops, to develop in 3 sessions and a very intense time. Aculco Radio was there and we want to share some of the sounds of that experience. Both participants and organizers gave us their impression about some of their very diverse workshops.
