Redone with better audio I have always enjoyed the tune from the popular movie's series, The Hunger Games. I was humming it one day when my mind was drawn to the one who was nailed on a tree for me. I liked the tune but I wondered how the words might be changed to sing about Him. This is what I came up with. I kept the tune, but I changed the lyrics and adapted them to where my thoughts were. It made me think of this earth, of heaven and of His love, the truest love that lasts forever. It starts like a few drops of rain, but then builds until it is a flood, often we know we are straying from God and our spirit groans and weeps inside of us, but our flesh so easily seems to win. But God knows our struggles, and He is patient, and He forgives. This is a poem I wrote when I was grappling with trying to comprehend God's great Love, I gave up. God's Love is not something to be rationalized or given human motives. It is boundless, limitless, greater than our mind can comprehend. I only need to know two things about God's love. He loves me. So much so that he died for me, in my place on the cross and paid for sins that were not his own. I do not fully grasp it all, but knowing what little I do I rejoice and take it for myself and I thank him for his sacrifice of himself for me. His perfect love offering given on behalf of a sinner not worthy of Him. The definition of perfect love? Jesus.  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but will have everlasting life."
