Knowing Who You Are with Kristin Harper
Topics We Covered:
____
[1:28]: Take a look at who you are today. Knowing that your identity has nothing to do with your status, accomplishments, and what you’ve been through. Rather, it has everything with who God says that you are. How will the way you see yourself influence how you lead and show up?
[5:35]: Kristin Harper shares her journey from a child exposed at an early age to entrepreneurship and hard work to college and to senior leadership at global organizations. She speaks about perseverance and taking leaps of faith to walk on purpose.
[9:25]: Kristin guides us through a few internal questions to ask ourselves during seasons of transition. What is the audience I want to serve? What are my unique skills and gifts? What do I enjoy doing and could lose track of time?
[13:10]: Together, Sharnell and Kristin speak to the power of knowing who you are and having emotional intelligence; the power of self-awareness and managing yourself while being aware socially and managing relationships with others.
[20:80]: Self-awareness is critical along with understanding the value of shifting and maneuvering who you to add value in the different environments you are in. They speak to why it is necessary to know your values and triggers.
[34:00]: Kristin gives you practical ways to go through the process of understanding your why and walking in who you’ve created to be.
[40:00]: Leadership is a constant journey of knowing yourself. This includes slowing down, reflecting, and honoring your unique makeup and being.

Nuturing Relationships with Dr. Lynyetta Willis
[1:40]: When we prioritize our relationships and nurture them, we are able to show up better and healthy in the lives of others. Lean in to who you are so you can show up and be available to serve others.
[4:22]: Dr. Lynyetta believes in order to create lasting shifts in our culture and world we must begin by shifting the consciousness of families. She’s committed to transforming the world, one family at a time.
[6:50]: We look back and acknowledge the good and the bad and choose what we will take forward. We honor those that have come before us, those who’ve played a large part in forming the women that you are. We take from them and leverage their wisdom, it influences how you will choose to form the generations going forward with your own approach to relationships. By this, we acknowledge the knowledge and the trauma that has been handed down through generations.
[12:24]: We have to prune the tree. This is honoring and the type of legacy we want to leave; thoughtful and transformative. Taking the shame out of it is so important.
[14:30]: Overtime if you don’t find time to balance how you encounter your emotions, you let it out on everyone else and our relationships suffer. This has everything to do with your own care and well-being.
[21:00]: We have to make conscious transitions between work and home. Dr. Lynyetta helps us acknowledge that when we shift from one part of our day to another, like coming home at the end of the day, there are different parts of us required and others that we need to leave behind. Give your nervous system the opportunity to calm down and come back to baseline. There’s an even higher level of intention necessary if you work in a home environment.
[31:30]: What are the myths that you have believed through the years? Understand where your beliefs are coming from, those that have been handed down from you. From there take small steps to honor realizations around feelings. Dr. Lynyetta and Sharnell give practical steps to then move forward.
[34:00]: We can hurt so many relationships if we don’t stop and become aware of ourselves. Or hard shell and lack of vulnerability that is honored in one setting is not welcomed when it comes to other relationships. Our children are requiring more of us, this generation can see through it and they want all of you.
[43:00]: Surround yourself with others that will shape you personally and professionally as you are pursuing this next season and navigating your way through.
[44:30]: Our relationships have a tendency to suffer because we are chasing after something and looking for fulfillment in life. When we are not grounded, we run towards a sense of worth. What we really need is a personal sense of worth and value.
[59:00]: Healing and forgiveness is part of the process of transformation and so important to show up in our life and relationships.
[1:00:00]: When we prioritize having nurtured and healthy relationships, we’re able to reap the rewards for generations to come. This important work has everything to do with being self-aware and consciously deciding that other people are important to your journey in life and career.

Making a Difference with Jenifer Namestka
[2:17]: Nothing in life is ever wasted. There's purpose and preparation in everything. We just have to be courageous enough to prepare for the seasons that are ahead.
[3:20]: Reflecting on how far we’ve come gives us perspective on our impact and influence.
[4:45]: Many of us don’t know what is next. The data shows 1 in 2 women leaders are considering leaving their job in the next two years to pursue career endeavors, start a business, or leave the workforce altogether.
[6:50]: Many of us are walking through new seasons that are shifting all of our being; life and career. Now you are questioning, how did I end up here? You may be chasing fulfillment and still looking for something else.
[8:30]: When we are able to make a difference and have an impact that changes things for good, this is where we find fulfillment. What’s going to be different for you in this new season? Many working women know what it is to sacrifice and chase after success, now is the time to chase significance.
[11:25]: Giving of ourselves from our story and experiences is what gives us fulfillment and that deep purpose that we look for. People often only see the outside, our titles and our work, not an inside-view of the journey. Use all that ambition stirring within you to make an impact and be open to the influence that you could really have. Make change right where you are.
[19:30]: Jenifer shares her unique journey starting as an educator and in youth ministry to becoming a corporate leader and eventually leading Avo Solutions as a truly fulfilled working woman.
[21:27] Jenifer and I remind you of how important it is to be open to things. Especially when we have no idea what’s next and where we are going to land on a journey of faith.
[23:20] Reading and understanding what it looks like to do ministry and be of service in the workplace helped Jenifer to lean-in to a passion for wanting to make a difference with her work. God can use you and your life through your work and business. For many, our journey becomes our fuel and this is why we have to reflect on what has brought us here.
[28:30]: Decisions become easier when we know our values and are clear about what matters most to us and our loved ones. We have to have a vision and be courageous and open to putting ourselves and our overall well-being first.
[35:00]: Working women are very resilient. What goes through your mind when making some of the toughest decisions professionally often is your family and loved ones. They bring everything into perspective for us.
[41:50]: Jenifer shares her biggest lessons in business and motherhood. She helps us to understand that she has a company that has done very well because she loves what she does and it’s aligned to who she is. She reminds us what’s most important and who is watching us.
[55:00] Jenifer is very intentional about how she can make a difference in the lives of all those she interacts with from her employees to her family. Her faith and prayer time is everything to her in life and during these seasons of transition. It makes her a better leader and gives her purpose.
[1:02:30]: Where to follow and keep up with Jenifer.
[1:05:00] Be mindful about how your journey is fueling where you are headed next. Think about how you can make an impact right where you are and find purpose and fulfillment through it.
[1:09:00]: I'm very honored to be a coach for ambitious women leaders. It is through my company and our coaching programs at SOMEI that we help women leaders navigate seasons in life and business and make movement forward on their vision. Everything is purposeful, now is the time to use everything to make a difference.
