Colts have all the LUCK down Packers 31-26 at Lambeau Field

Andrew Luck improved his record to 2-0 against Aaron Rodgers as the Colts held off a late comeback attempt by the Green Bay Packers. After building an 18 point lead, the Packers scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to five. However, the Packers defense failed to stop Luck and the Colts as they ran out the clock. The Colts jumped out to a fast start when Jordan Todman returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, and a 7-0 lead. On the final drive, the Colts faced a crucial third down. Dom Capers called a safety blitz, and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix streaked into the backfield but Luck avoided the sack and converted the thrid down attempt. The Packers defense had problems getting off the field, allowing the Colts to convert 50% on third down. They also allowed a 15 play 96 yard touchdown drive at the end of the first half. That touchdown gave the Colts a 24-10 halftime lead.  The Packers forced Luck into two early interceptions, but missed out on a golden opportunity. After the first of two Clinton-Dix interceptions, the Packers started at the Colts 29. After three plays, the Packers lost yardage and Mason Crosby missed a 48 yard field goal. The Packers did cash in on the second interception when Rodgers forced the defense to jump offside and he went deep to Jordy Nelson for a 26 yard touchdown. The Packers fall to 4-4 and thrid place in the NFC North, while the Colts improve to 4-5. What are your thoughts on the game, listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

Packers face Colts; will Luck be on their side?

Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers will face off Sunday, at Lambeau Field. The Indianapolis Colts have fallen short of expectations this year, and are two games behind the Houston Texans. The Green Bay Packers have entered the world of injured reserve losing player after player on both sides of the ball.  The Colts have struggled on the road, winning only one time, while the Packers seem more comfortable on offense at home. The Colts are one of four teams that give up over 400 yards on defense, and have allowed 28.8 points per game. On most Sunday's, Aaron Rodgers would be salivating. However, the Packer offense is without their top two running backs. They are also hobbled at receiver with Jared Cook, Randall Cobb, and Ty Montgomery all battling injuries.  The Packers defense continues to be hobbled in the secondary, which will need all the help they can get against one of hte better quarterbacks in the league.  Luck has spent much of the season picking himself up off the turf. The Colts have allowed a league high 31 sacks. Green Bay must find a way to pressure Luck to help out the depleted secondary. This could turn out to be another offensive showcase as both defensive units have struggled. Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

And your World Series Champion is...........

Tonight is game seven of the World Series and either the Chicago Cubs or Cleveland Indians will end their long World Series Championship drought. At the time the show was scheduled, the Cubs were leading after five innings 5-3. When the show airs LIVE, a World Series Champion could be named or the game will be close to ending. Evan and Troy will give you live updates as the game progresses on the show.  Evan and Troy will also talk about some of the hottest topics in the sports world. In  a suprising move, the New England Patriots parted ways with a talented young outside linebacker Jamie Collins. The Browns traded a third-round compensatory pick, or fourth-round pick for Collins. Cleveland is probably not the landing spot that Collins had hoped for, but he has done everything right when talking about the trade. If the Browns can not work out a long term deal, he will become a free-agent at the end of the season.  Norv Turner has stepped down as the offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings. After losing their top two playmakers; Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson, the Vikings offense has struggled to move the ball and score points. The Vikings rank 31st in yards per game (293.3) and are tied for 23rd in points per game (19.9). After starting the season 5-0, they encountered the bye week. They have lost both games, and only hold a one game lead over the Green Bay Packers, in the NFC North.  Listen in and call the show with your thoughts on the NFL and the World Series.

Week 9 NFL recap; how many more ties will this season bring?

The NFL made major changes to the overtime rule so that a winner could be determined. The Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks played a sloppy game that ended in a tie. This week the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals traveled across the pond and gave the English crowd and extra 15 minutes of football.  The New England Patriots look like they are in playoff form, defeating the Buffalo Bills. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles had a showdown in the NFC East, and Dak Prescott prevailed once again. The debate about Tony Romo coming back continues to grow. Jay Cutler showed some of that youthful promise on Monday night as the Chicago Bears dominated the Minnesota Vikings. Since the bye week, the Vikings have dropped themselves back into the pack, and lead the NFC North by one game. The Oakland Raiders might have had a beef with the NFL schedule makers when they saw five of their first eight games on the road. Jack Del Rio has ooached this Radier team to a perfect 5-0 record on the road.  With every success story comes a defeat. Evan and Troy will hand out their #PooTheBedAward. The #PooBall is given to a team or player that had a horrific experience during the week. Who do you think deserves the #PooBall Award this week? Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

Falcons soar over Packers in wild finish at Georgia Dome

The Green Bay Packers entered Sunday's game with an injury report longer than a college students laundry list. The Packers were without their top two running backs, number one tight end, number two wide receiver, their top three cornerbacks, and their All-Pro outside linebacker. Even with all the injuries, the Green Bay Packers found a way to score 32 points, but the defense could not make an important stop at the end of the fourth quarter. Matt Ryan drove the Falcons 75 yards, in 11 plays. Matt Bryant added the game winning extra point.  Julio Jones injured his ankle; early in thegame, and was not a major factor. Matt Ryan targeted Mohamed Sanu 10 times and finished with nine catches for 84 yards and the game winning touchdown. Aaron Rodgers kept the Packers alive with his legs, rushing for a career high 60 yards. Trevor Davis and Geronimo Allison both caught their first career touchdowns.  The one question can be about Mike McCarthy and his time management at the end of the game. As the Falcons drove down the field with ease, valuable seconds kept ticking off the clock. The Packers had one last drive with 31 seconds left. What if McCarthy would have used the final two timeouts while the Falcons drove for the game winning touchdown? Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

One franchise is ending their futility: World Series Preview, Indians vs. Cubs

The Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs will dual in the World Series, and one franchise will end their futility. The Indians had a chance, in 1997, to remove themselves from the longest drought list. However, the lost a heartbreaking seventh game. Edgar Renteria singled home the game winning run in the 11th inning, and the Indians World Series drought continued.  After three straight World Series appearances, from 1906 to 1908, and winning back to back titles in 1907 and 1908 the Cubs have not hoisted the pennant. From 1909 to 1945, the Cubs would have seven more chances to claim the pennant. However, it was heartbreak after heartbreak as they were 0-7 in these appearances. The past 61 years have only seen seven post season appearances, with four chances to get back to the World Series.  The players on the winning team will forever be embedded in the hearts of the fans. The players on the losing side will join a long list of players who couldn't seal the deal. Listen in and call the show.

Packers host Bears on Thursday Night Football

The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will meet for the 193 time on Thursday night. Expectations are in different worlds for the organizations. The Packers have legitimate playoff hopes, while the Bears are looking to rebuild a team that can get back into the playoffs. Jay Cutler sustained an early season injury and Brian Hoyer has stepped in to produce some stability at quarterback.  The Green Bay Packers have suffered injuries at the running back position. Eddie Lacy is hampered by an ankle injury, James Starks had surgery and will miss up to four weeks. That left Aaron Ripkowski as the only healthy true running back. Ty Montgomery lined up in the backfield in Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The injury to Eddie Lacy prompted Ted Thompson to trade for Kansas City Running Back Knile Davis.  The Green Bay Packers have every opportunity to come away with a win on Thursday, but the execution in each phase of the game will be the biggest key to victory. The Packers have not put together a complete game to this point, and fans are waiting for this potential playoff team to finds its groove. Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

NFL week recap and Evan and Troy hand out the #PooTheBed award

The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers both laid eggs in their week five matchups, and search for answers moving forward. The Steelers lost quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to a knee injury that required surgery on Monday. He is expected to miss three weeks. Richard Sherman may have robbed the bank by getting away wih a no call pass interference on Julio Jones as the Seahawks held off the Atlanta Falcons 26-24. The Colts were in control against the Texans and their porous defense let a lead slip away and the Texans snuck up and won in overtime. Don't look now, the Washington Redskins have reeled off four wins in a row after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 27-20.  There were many nominees for the uncoveted #PooTheBed Award. Evan and Troy will hand out their individual #PooBall Awards. Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

Packers need to brew some coffee and wake up after being embarrassed

Ezekiel Elliot torched the best run defense in the NFL for 157 yards on 28 carries and the Dallas Cowboys crushed the Green Bay Packers 30-16, at Lambeau Field. The Packers turned the ball over four times, and had to settle for two field goals in the first half when they couldn't extend drives.  As poorly as the Packers played, the Cowboys didn't close the door on this game until the fourth quarter. The Cowboys lead was 10-6 with 1:39 left in the first half. The Packers had some momentum after Trevor Davis had a 25 yard punt return, placing the ball at the Packers 46. Aaron Rodgers should have been licking his chops with a short field and over one minute. A score at the end of the half makes this a different game, but instead the Packers went three and out. Pinned inside the Packers 5 yard line, the Cowboys played safe and ran Elliott. After a Packers timeout, one of many secondary breakdowns allowed Lucky Whitehead to have a 26 yard run and catch. Dak Prescott looked more like the saavy veteran as he then found Terrance Williams for a 42 yard gain. Prescott finished off the drive and the Packers with a beautiful touch pass to Brice Butler to cap off a ridiculous 5 play 97 yard drive to take a 17-6 lead. The Packers never recovered after this drive.  Even after the first half fiasco, the Packers received the second half kickoff and moved the ball to Cowboy territory with a huge dose of Eddie Lacy. Lacy battled an ankle injury all day but still ran effectively, 17 carries for 65 yards. However, this drive ended with an errant Aaron Rodgers throw that was intercepted by Barry Church. This turnover resulted in a Cowby field goal, and extended the lead to 20-6.    The Cowboys improve to 5-1, and first place in the NFC East. The Packers fall to 3-2, and are two games behind the undefeated Vikings in the NFC North. Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

Cowboys return to Lambeau Field to face Packers in important NFC match-up

This could be one of the most important early season games for both the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys sit atop the NFC East with a 4-1 mark, while the Packers are chasing the undefeated Minnesota Vikings. This game could be an important factor when the NFL playoffs roll around. The winner of this game will have the head to head tie-breaker. It is early in the season, but if we fast forward 12 weeks, these teams could both be battling for a playoff spot, or they may be battling for home field advantage. The winner will hold the upper hand come January.  Rookie Dak Prescott has stepped as the starting quarterback after Tony Romo sustained another injury. Not only has he held the ship together, he has caused fans and media to ask the question 'who will start when Tony Romo is 100% and ready to play?" The old addage is that you ride the hot hand, and right now Prescott has done enough to vault the Cowboys into first place. He has been helped with the addition of Ezekiel Elliott, and a mamouth offensive line. The 155.2 rushing yards per game ranks first in the NFL, but the Packers defense is only allowing 42.8 yards per game.  If you rely on stats and numbers then the Packers offense is terrible and the Cowboys defense is good. The Cowboys only allow 18 points per game, but you have to factor in games against the Bears and 49ers. The Packers have not put together a 60 minute offensive game, but have shown signs offensively. In the win over the Giants, the offensive line dominated from start to finish and that could once again be a key to victory. The Cowboys are tied for 17th in sacks with 10 while the Green Bay Packers rank 5th with 14. To get a complete breakdown of both teams statistically visit sporting charts

Troy jinxed Giants as Cubs mount an epic comeback in top of the 9th.

Half of the NLCS is set as the Chicago Cubs mounted a four run ninth inning to defeat the San Francisco Giants 6-5. The Giants were on the verge of forcing a game five, and then it all fell apart after Troy proclaimed on The Red Light Sports Ramble that the Giants have forced a game five. They will face either the Washington Nationals or Los Angeles Dodgers who play on Thursday. Friday, the ALCS begins as the gutty Cleveland Indians take on the high powered Toronto Blue Jays. Corey  Kluber is the probable starter for the Indians, and Marco Estrada will take the mound for the Blue Jays. The season series belonged to Cleveland who won four of the seven games played. They will have to win four more to advance to the World Series. Flipping to college football, the Big Ten has four teams in the top 10, and two of them square off this weekend. #8 Wisconsin takes on #2 Ohio State in what seems to be a mismatch in favor of the Buckeyes. However, this Badger defense has stepped up to be a dominating force, holding LSU, Michigan State, and Michigan to 14 points or less. Many experts probably did not see this Wisconsin team in the top 10, but they have played well and can make a big statement by defeating Ohio State. Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

Packers win game in trenches; protect Rodgers and pressure Manning

The Green Bay Packers defeated the New York Giants 23-16 on Sunday night, at Lambeau Field. The Packers improve to 3-1, while the Giants fall to 2-3. Aaron Rodgers seemed human by only completing 23 of 45 passes and threw two interceptions. Jordy Nelson and DeVante Adams had touchdown catches, and Randall Cobb had a touchdown called back after an illegal shift was called nullifying the score. Cobb endured  a scary hit after breaking a short pass outside and turning up field to gain the first down. He finished the game with nine catches for 108 yards. Amazingly, Cobb passed a concussion test and should be ok to play against the Dallas Cowboys. Once again, the Packers run defense was stout. The leagues number one run defense made the Giants one dimensional, and pinned their ears back to pressure Eli Manning. The box score will show four sacks, Manning was under pressure most of the night.  Dropped passes and overthrown balls cost the Giants some big plays, and possibly points. Although the margin of defeat was seven, the Packers clearly controlled both lines of scrimmage, and controlled the pace of the game.  Listen to Evan and Troy recap the Packers victory of the Giants. Call the show and share your thoughts.
