A Conversation About Relationships

How can you tell if you are in healthy ambition or if you are motivated by a selfish ambition?  So many today feel the push to do more and be more. That drive and desire will easily drain and drag them down when they are operating in a works mentality. On the other side, we may also be tempted to throw away all forms of ambition out of fear that we will become self focused if we step out of our self-induced hiding. Special guest, Amber Sykes, joins us this week to share her perspective of walking in the gifting of the Lord and through the warfare that can come with it. The spirit of this world will pressure us to become self-focused when things get tough. But, when we choose to focus on the Lord, we find that there may actually be a purpose and a plan in the midst of what we are calling chaos. 

In this episode, Marcy and Gina discuss the deep healing they have experienced and are still walking out with the Lord.  We don't know what is hidden in our hearts until the Lord shines His light on it. Then, we have this opportunity to acknowledge it before the Lord and ask for His healing, or we can shove it back down into the depths of our hearts and stay bound by our own darkness. But, it's Love that beckons us to come and lay it all down at His feet. It's Love that releases us from every evil thing. If we are willing to let Love in, we will be amazed at what we can simply just walk out of.

Perfectionism is the demand of the religious carnal mind.  We can easily fall into this trap of condemnation when we are more concerned about how we are walking rather than Who it is we are walking with. Have you ever been so focused on what you were going to say next in a conversation that you completely missed what was being said by those talking to you? That could be an indicator that you are seeing too much of self and not focusing enough on loving the one in front of you! When we see Love we are able to move past our own short comings and insecurities because our hearts become consumed by Him instead of our mess.
