***Oh my god! Such and such a thing has been true the whole time and we're just now realizing it!*** Here's some of my favorite music that accompanies that ? sort of thing in film. In my opinion, such a moment is often the best part of an original score. Lots of glissandi, sudden changes in tempo, sudden changes in instrumentation and strange harmonies. And, especially, huge changes in volume. How many of these epiphanies, revelations, surprise endings, and bombshells can you identify? None of them? That's ok, part 2 of this episode will reveal all!

The original score for the Lord of the Rings trilogy is excellent, of course, but what if Peter Jackson had hired ME to just pick a bunch of my favorite music to stick in the movie? I would have won the franchise twice as many Oscars. 34 Oscars. I'll tell you, at the beginning of each track, where it would have gone in the move.
