The Pink Tax

Over time, bridging the gap of equality between genders has been an ongoing issue, and although we have made leaps and bounds, there are still prevalent inequalities between men and women. So today let's talk about the pink tax, which refers to the extra money women pay for specific products or services - basically an unnecessary mark-up on products comparable to that of mens. There is still work to do to remove this "pink tax", so join us as we educate ourselves and learn more about this still very current issue.

Cash, Credit or Exposure?

Will that be with cash, credit or exposure? Imagine if we could pay our bills and buy our coffees with "exposure"... Bottom line is: we can't. So why are young dancers being expected to take unpaid jobs and being led to believe that "It will look great on a CV" is enough pay in itself? In the past week in Australia, news has circulated that the AFL had asked hundreds of dancer's to participate as volunteers for their grand final half-time show. With all that's happened this year, it has been another huge hit to the industry displaying the systemic issue that the art's are undervalued in Australia. This episode discusses and slightly rants about our opinions on these recent events. #paythedancers

The Instagram Effect: Putting a Filter on Life

Who doesn’t love a good Instagram filter? We all love them, use them and share them! These days the majority of us tend to use our Instagram profiles as a way to show others who we are, and enhance our sense of belonging. In this Episode, we talk about how great this is but also why it’s so easy to slip into the play-pretend game and show ourselves differently to the world - as we would like to be, NOT as we truly are. So tune in to the conversation as we openly talk about how OUR lives look better on the Internet than they do in real life.
