Keep Yourself Warm - Frightened Rabbit (2008).mp3 (7724 KB)
KEEP YOURSELF WARM - LYRICS
My hole, I'll get my hole
I'll get my hole
Get my hole, get my hole
And I will find out more
It's a choo-choo train
A rocket launch
If we have a hormone race
I'm bound to finish first
Can you see in the dark?
Can you see the look on your face?
The flashing white light's been turned off
You don't know know who's in your bed
It takes more than fucking someone you don't know
To keep warm
Do you really think that for a house beat
You'll find your love in a hole
No you won't find love in a,
Won't find love in a hole
It takes more than fucking someone
To keep yourself warm
I'm drunk, I'm drunk
And you're probably on pills
If we both got the same diseases
It's irrelevant girl
In the room is the steam
It evaporates, disappears
My point of entry is the same way
That I'll leave
Can you see in the dark?
Can you see the look on your face?
The flashing white light's been turned off
You don't know know who's in your bed
It takes more than fucking someone you don't know
To keep warm
Do you really think that for a house beat
You'll find your love in a hole
but you won't find love in a,
Won't find love in a hole
It takes more than fucking someone
To keep yourself warm
You won't find love in a,
Won't find love in a hole
It takes more than fucking someone
To keep yourself...
See in the dark
Can you see the look on your face?
The flashing white light's been turned off
You don't know know who's in your bed
It takes more than fucking someone you don't know
to keep warm
Do you really think that for a house beat
You'll find your love in a hole

Ordizian goi mailako futbolari asko izan ez baditugu ere (esparru horretan Beasaindarrak dira nagusi Goierri mailan) musika arloan talde itxurosoak izan ditugu. Denen artean ezagunenak, agian, Elurretan taldea izan da. Duela urtebete, euren abesti guztiak sarean deskargatzeko moduan jarriko zituztela jakin genuen. Antzeko adinekoak dira Erga Omnes taldeko lagunak. Lehenengoek Rockdelux aldizkari ospetsuak antolatzen zuen maketa lehiaketaren finalistak izan baziren, Erga Omnes Donostia Hiria VIII Pop-Rock Lehiaketako irabazleak izan ziren 1999. urtean. Sari honi esker lau abestiz osatutako Cda ekoizteko aukera izan zuten. Diska hau Angel Katarainek Azkaraten duen estudioetan grabatu zen eta maketa moduko produkzio bat izateko, kalitate handikoa dela esango nuke nik. Erga Omnes taldea Joseba Basarte, Iñaki Munduate eta Xabi Lopezek osatzen zuten. Urte gutxi batzuk aritu ziren taldean, tamalez. CD ha kaleratu eta handik gutxira taldea desegin zen. Ez zen bada, kalitate falta zuen taldea! LYRICS:Restless secret I have gotNever seen never thoughtI'm not hungry, can't sleepMidnight tic-tac the clockShadows everywhere I seeNightmares the worst presageReady who makes that noise might be someone back the doorShips jumping over my bedFeels like thunder in my headSome are black, some are whiteTheir the eyes of my lifeSomething sucks me into a holeI can't bear it anymore Finally I open my eyesSometimes it's nice to wake up

Everybody Needs A Holyday - Big Audio Dynamite (1989).mp3 (5230 KB)
Onartu beharrean nago Mick Jones tipo atsegina dudala. The Clash taldeko gitarra-jole ohia tipo karismatikoa da; ez dakit, niri behintzat "ukitu" berezia duela iruditzen zait. The Clash taldeko tipo interesgarriena iruditu zait beti eta talde honek kaleratutako abesti hoberenak bereak izan direla iruditzen zait. The Clash desegin ondoren, Big Audio Dynamite talde berria sortu zuen. Taldeak ospe handia lortu ez bazuen ere, bere lehen diskoek (lehenengo biek batez ere) kritika oso onak jaso zituzten. "Everybody Needs A Holiday" abestia euren laugarren diskoan aurkitu daiteke; euren abesti hoberena ez bada ere, ez didazue ukatuko oso letra aproposa daukala garai honetarako, ezta? ;) "Earned a rest, I know you worked all day, I knowAnd everybody needs a holiday"
Tira, ez da zabaltzen dudan Mick Jones-en lehenengo abestia eta ez da izango azkena. Gehiago etorriko dira, ziur!LYRICS: Close your eyes And hit the sack While your asleep I`ll watch your back Grab a chair Have a seat I`ve got the wheel Rest your feet I`ll stand guard And keep the wolves at bay Watch the fire While you dream away Earned a rest I know you worked all day I know And everybody needs a holiday Take a break Shake that frown Re-assess What`s going down Spare a thought While you sit Reconsider And admit I`ll stand guard And keep the wolves at bay Watch the fire While you dream away Earned a rest I know you worked all day I know And everybody needs a holiday Earned a rest I know you worked all day I know And everybody needs a holiday I`ll stand guard And keep the wolves at bay Watch the fire While you dream away Earned a rest I know you worked all day I know And everybody needs a holiday I`ll stand guard And keep the wolves at bay Watch the fire While you dream away Earned a rest I know you worked all day I know And everybody needs a holiday

Stop Your Sobbing - The Pretenders (1980).mp3 (2390 KB)
Atzo gauean umeak aiton-amonen etxean utzi eta Donostiako Kursaalera joan ginen The Pretenders ikustera emaztea eta biok, lagunak ditugun beste bikote batekin. Nire lagunak, hamalau urte zituela, Madrilgo Calderonen izan zen kontzertu mitikoan (U2 eta big Audio Dynamite taldeekin batera) ikusi zituen lehenengoz. Tamalez, 80. hamarkada hartan zuzenean ikusteko aukerarik ez nuen izan eta, nahiz eta harrez gero urte asko pasa, gogoa nuen Chrissie Hynde zuzenean ikusteko.
Sentsazio gazi-gozoarekin atera ginen kontzertutik. Alde batetik gustura egon ginen gure gazte garaiko abestiak zuzenean entzuten. Soinuaren kalitatea nahiko ona izan zen. Chrissie eta bere lagunak (taldeko gitarjole gazte berria bikain jo zuen) gainera txisparekin aritu ziren eszenatokian. Baina ez nintzen gustura geratu kontzertua eskaintzeko aukeratu zuten lekuarekin. The Pretenders-en musikak gorputza mugitzera behartzen zaitu; bere betiko "hit" bat entzun eta gorputza geldik mantentzea ezinezkoa da. Eta egoera horretan aulkian eserita egon behar izateak inpotentzia handia ematen du. Batzuk zutik ipini eta dantzan hasten ziren; beste batzuk alboko pasabideetara jaisten ziren dantza egitera. Baina hori ez da kontua; The Pretenders-ek beste leku bat behar du bere abestiek transmititzen duten zirrararen ondorioz, gorputzak eskatzen duen martxa modu librean espresatu ahal izateko. Pena bat izan zen :(
LYRICS:It is time for you to stop all of your sobbingYes its time for you to stop all of your sobbing oh oh ohTheres one thing you gotta doTo make me still want youGotta stop sobbing now
Yeah yeah stop it stop itIt is time for you to laugh instead of cryingYes its time for you to laugh so keep on trying oh oh ohTheres one thing you gotta doTo make me still want youGotta stop sobbing now
Yeah yeah stop it stop itEach little tear that falls from your eyesMakes, makes me wantTo take you in my arms and tell youTo stop all your sobbingTheres one thing you gotta doTo make me still want you

Bathysphere - Smog (1995).mp3 (4542 KB)
Duela hiru hilabete kaleratu zuen Bill Callahan-ek bere azken diska, "Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle" izenburupean. Bere izenarekin aurkezten duen bigarren diska bada ere, konpositore beteranoa da, izan ere, 1990. urtean argitaratu zuen bere lehen diska Smog izenarekin. Ordutik hona diska sorta ederra eskaini digu Billek, guztiek jaso dituzte kritika bikainak kritikarengandik.
Abesti hau bere laugarren diskoaren lehena da eta bikaina iruditzen zait. Bere ahots ozenarekin kontatzen duen istorio txikia oso polita iruditzen zait, era berean, interpretazio desberdin ugari izan ditzakeena. Doinua bikaina da, gitarra zorrotza, atzetik entzuten diren ahotsek tonu iluna ematen diotelarik, oso aproposa hitzek transmititu nahi dutena girotzeko.
LYRICS:When I was sevenI asked my motherTo trip me to the bayAnd put me on a shipAnd lower me downLower me out of hereBecause when I was sevenI wanted to live in a bathysphere
Between coralsilent eelsilver swordfishI can't really feel or dream down hereAnd if the water should cut my line (*2)Set me freeAnd if the water should cut my lineSet me free, I don't mind
I'll be the lost sailor, my home is the seaWhen I was sevenMy father said to me'But you can't swim'And I've never dreamed of the sea again

Talde honen abesti asko daude txoko honetan ipintzeko modukoak baina gaurko egunerako, zalantza izpirik gabe, hauxe da egokiena
LYRICS:
Well, sit right down my wicked son,And let me tell you a storyAbout the boy who fell from glory,And how he was a wicked son. This ain't no holiday, but it always turns out this way. Here I am with my hand...He took his sister from his head,And impregnated her on the sheets. And they rolled her up in grass and trees,And they kissed until they were dead. This ain't no holiday, but it always turns out this way. Here I am with my hand...Well, sit right down my evil son,And let me tell you a storyAbout the boy who fell from glory,And how he was a wicked son. This ain't no holiday right now, but it always turns out this way. Here I am with my hand...This ain't no holiday, but it always turns out this way. Here I am with my hand...

Aztec Camera Roddy Frame abeslari eta autore eskoziarraren proiektu pertsonala izan zen. Joan-etorri ugari egon ziren taldekideen artean baita gorabehera handiak ekoiztutako diskoen kalitatean ere. "Stray" 90. hamarkadari hasiera emango zion diskoa izan zen. Bertan Paul Carrack, Edwyn Collins eta Mick Jones-en kolaborazioa izan zuen Frame-ek. Azken honekin batera grabatu zuen abesti hau, diskoan dagoen abesti hoberenetakoa. Orduko gizarte britainiarrari egindako kritika jasotzen da bertan. LYRICS:Jock's got a vote in ParochiaTen long years and he's still got herPaying tax and and doing stirWorry about it later. And the wind blows hot and the wind blows coldBut it blows us good so we've been told Music's food 'til the art-biz foldsLet them all eat culture.Chorus:The past is steeped in shame,But tomorrow's fair game,For a life that's fit for livingGood morning Britain. Twenty years and a loaded gunFunerals, fear and the war ain't wonPaddy's still a figure of funIt lightens up the danger. And a corporal sneers at a catholic boyAnd he eyes his gun like a rich man's toy He's killing more than celtic joyDeath is not a stranger.Taffy's time's gonna come one dayIt's a loud sweet voice and it won't give wayA house is not a holidayYour sons are leaving home Neil. In the hills and the valleys and far awayYou can hear the song of democracyThe echo of eternityWith a Rak-a-Rak-a feel.ChorusFrom the Tyne to where to the Thames does flowMy English brothers and sisters know It's not a case of where you goIt's race and creed and colour. From the police cell to the deep dark graveOn the underground's just a stop awayDon't be too black, don't be too gayJust get a little duller. But in this green and pleasant land,Where I make my home, I make my standMake it cool just to be a man,A uniform's a traitor.Love is internationalAnd if you stand or if you fall,Just let them know you gave your all, Worry about it later.Chorus

Idiot Country - Electronic (1991).mp3 (4455 KB)
Republic diska argitaratu orduko, New Order taldeko kideak saltsa pertsonaletan sartuta zebiltzaten. Bernard Summer eta Johnny Marr (The Smiths taldeko gitarra-jole ezaguna) proiektu berri batean elkartu ziren. Talde berriari Electronic izena eman zioten eta "idiot Country" euren lehen diskoaren lehen abestia zen. New Order-ek hartuko zuen ibilbide berriaren isla da disko hau, Marr-ek bere gitarra toke berezia ematen dielarik bertako abestiei (nabarmena bere lana abesti honetan). Marr-en ukitu hori nabarmena da bereziki lehenengo lan honetan. Aipagarria ere Neil Tennant -en kolaborazioa diska honetako "Getting away with it" abestian.
LYRICS:My name is not important, it's a signal, a signIt means I'm doing what I do because I do it all the timeI get a lot of fun emotion, I get none if I use yaI would crawl across the ocean so I could not abuse ya
My life's deteriorating at a quarter to eightBecause I wrote myself a letter and I mailed it too lateI got a knock on the door, I got a nail on the floorI got a nail in my head, but it don't hurt me no more
It's an open act of defiance, and it's aimed directly at youWe could form some kind of alliance, we could do what we wanted to doAnd the young would live foreverAnd the sun would shine through the blue
If we got our hands on this nation, we could do what we wanted to doWith all the time I'm sweatin' I've got you on my mindYou're gonna lead me into trouble, you will leave me behindWell I am not coming to ya, I'll only confuse ya
There's a label on you, I'm gonna rip it in two

LYRICS:What I'm searching for
to tell it straight, I'm trying to build a wall
Walking by myself
down avenues that reek of time to kill
If you see me keep going
be a pass by waver
Build me up, bring me down
just leave me out you name dropper
Stop trying to catch my eye
I see you good you forced faker
Just make it easy
You're my enemy you fast talker
Chorus:
I can say I hope it will be worth what I give up
If I could stand up mean for the things that I believe
What am I here for
I left my home to disappear is all
I'm here for myself
Not to know you
I don't need no one else
Fit in so good the hope is that you cannot see me later
You don't know me
I am an introvert an excavator
I'm duckin' out for now
a face in dodgy elevators
Creep up and suddenly
I found myself
an innovator
Chorus.
Change, change, change,
I want to get up out of my skin
tell you what
if I can shake it
I'm 'a make this
something worth dreaming of

Pop y Muerte
STAY WEIRD.
