Every First Saturday of the month in Austin Texas is the Family Meeting at the Northland Group. Family meetings were big in the Midwest where I first found recovery. Usually an Al-Anon and an AA speaker so that both sides of the disease can come together and spend an evening in united joy over recovery.

Mark P. is a special friend, in that he was a former sponsee. Woo. We had some times together. I'm so eternally grateful to see him sober and thriving today. I hope you know when he speaks about the lows he reached, I was there to attest to much of it.

Y'all it's Luz! She's a great great asset to AA and our groups in Austin Texas. Now, she's being of service to the entire world by joining us on Gal-AA (Gay & Lesbian AA) in formulating the program for the LGBT2S+ Component of the International AA Convention in Vancouver, BC Canada July 3-6 celebrating the 90th Anniversary Celebration of AA. If you're in town that weekend, come see Luz and I and the rest of the Gal-AA tribe at the top of the Fairmont Vancouver in the hospitality suite.

Sam and Lizzy, one of my favorite couples in recovery. As of this writing we just held the rehearsal for their wedding this weekend. No two were more perfectly matched. Here is the both sides of their AA story, from the Family Meeting held first Saturday of each month at the Northland Group of AA, Austin Texas, 8p Central.

Oh y'all don't even know what you're missing if Jenny G isn't in your fellowship. She never fails to make me laugh. When we're sitting in meetings together. When we're eating amazing tacos at fellowship after the meeting, and of course when she's speaking from the podium. I love her. I know you will too. Here's a woman who lives her truth in AA. I've had the pleasure of knowing her for a number of years and been able to witness close up how she's managed change and adversity. Denise always relies on her sponsor and the fellowship to guide her. With such great compasses how can she be steered wrong!

Stewart is a great speaker and member of AA. We've known each other for a number of years. We met through our mutual great, late, friend Buckley S. We hadn't seen each other in a long while before this speak, it was such a great night catching up with wonderful folks like Stewart. Texas does churn out some good speakers. This is one of them.

Wayne "Pearl" B. is a revered figure in the recovery community of Austin and Bryan, Texas. His moving and passionate recollections of his journey from the past to the present always leave a lasting impact. Enjoy.

Here's Chancelor. He's awesome. Met him this year when visiting the Frisco group. He's become a fast friend because we have so much in common in our approach to recovery. Certainly wise beyond his years/time in recovery. Would be a great YPAA speaker or conference speaker.

Our delightful friend Peggy D at the 2021 Trudgefest of the Capital of Texas Conference. She is a wonderful person in our fellowship. It was great to hear her story. It was a rainy day however, outdoors and children present as it was a family event, so the sound quality is not the best but the message comes through :)

We love Wayne "Pearl" B. We have been friends for over a decade and he's one of those people who has demonstrated for us over that time how to be of service to others, how to have an open heart and an open home. He's since left the Austin Fellowship, but we're glad he came back from College Station/Bryan for an evening to spend it with us.
