سرّاء هي كاتبة سيناريوهات و مخرجة موهوبة وشغوفة، وقعت في حب المسرح والسينما. كتابتها الأولى كانت مسرحية في المدرسة جعلتها تقع في الحب وتتبع شغفها في الكتابة والإخراج إلى درجة  أنها كتبت وأخرجت عدة أفلام وكانت أحد أعضاء لجنة المتحدثين خلال مهرجان مرموم للأفلام في 2023. استمع إلى قصتها وماذا يعني لها روح دبي. Sarra’a is a passionate and talented script writer and  director that fell in love with theater and cinema. Writing her first play in school has led her falling in love and pursuing her passion for writing and directing to the point where she wrote and directed her own film, and was also a panelist during Marmoom Film Festival in 2023. Hip Hop dancer and choreographer, Rudolf, joins us on this week’s episode where he shares his journey building a name and nurturing the dance community within the UAE. During his time in the UAE, he has managed to support the dance community and play his role in passing it forward to the younger generations. Arva is what we call a cultural and food enthusiast who’s been growing up in Dubai since the 80s. Throughout her upbringing, she has witnessed the changes and growth that the city has experienced, falling deeper in love with it and its diversity day by day. Today, she’s a food tour guide, taking guests on a trip down memory lane through the back alleys and off the beaten path parts of the city, experiencing a wide variety of flavors that tantalize the taste buds. Moath is not a musician nor a digital artist, but merely a passionate creative with love of nostalgia and gaming. As such, Moath has used his creativity and love for 80s and 90s games to create unique 8 bit midi sounds of popular music and original music, with 32bit graphics that mimic the good old days. Moath’s creativity intertwined with the soul of the city has resulted in him creating a new expression of digital art and music that he calls his own. Fuad & Raha are artists, a creative powerhouse, best friends and married with a son who’s just as artistic & creative as his parents. بشار كيال ، المعروف باسم “Basharkk” على اليوتيوب ، هو أحد أبرز الجايمرز في الشرق الأوسط.  وهو ليس غريباً على مشهد الجيمينج بما أنه ولد ونشأ في دبي ولعب الجيمينج وملاهي الألعاب المعروفة بالآر كايد جزأً كبيراً في طفولته. في هذه الحلقة يستذكر بشار الأماكن التي اعتاد زيارتها في جميع أنحاء المدينة مع شقيقه عندما كان صغيراًمن من الآر كايد إلى مقاهي الإنترنت حتى وصوله الى أكثر من المليون مشترك على قناته، محققاً نجاحاً كبيراً من خلال شغفه. يقول بشار أنه لا يوجد مكان أفضل من دبي ، حيث تلعب المدينة دورًا رئيسيًا في الألعاب على الصعيدين العالمي والإقليمي. استمع إلى قصته الرائعة ، وصعوده إلى النجاح ، وماذا تعني له روح دبي. Bashar Kayal, known as ‘Basharkk’ on Youtube, is one of the region’s most prominent gamers. Born and raised in Dubai, Bashar is no stranger to the gaming scene. He recalls the nostalgic places he used to visit around the city with his brother, as a child and as a teenager. From gaming arcades to internet cafes to international fame, Bashar quickly found success through his passion. He believes there is no better place to be than Dubai, as it plays a major role for gaming, globally & regionally. Jalal Abuthina, a visual contributor to the Soul of Dubai, a photographer and creative artist who has lived in this amazing city for over 30 years. Born in Ireland with Libyan roots, he grew up in Dubai as the city was growing and developing.  Jalal started off in real-estate whilst doing street photography as a hobby. عرين هي مصممة وفنانة تركز على الاستدامة في عملها الفني و قد نشأت محاطة بالألوان النابضة بالحياة مما أدي في حبها بالفن واستخدام تلك الألوان في فنها. قد سافرت عرين شاركت أعمالها في عدة من الدول، وظهرت في المعارض الأوروبية والأمريكية. وبعد قضاء بعض الوقت في إنجلترا والسويد، قررت الانتقال إلى بلد عربي بما أنها تمثل الهوية العربية في فنها. بعد زيارة ممتعة إلى دبي حيث أذهلت بالفن المتواجد وروح في المدينة مما دفعها إلى العمل بكثرة.، و من خلاله حصلت أرين على الاقامة الذهبية من دبي للثقافة. استمع إلى قصتها الرائعة و استمتاعها بروح دبي ، وكيف ألهمتها لتطوير فنها مع مراعاة الأولويات البيئية للمدينة. Areen is a Palestinian textile designer and sustainability artist who grew up surrounded by vibrant colors, which she has incorporated into her art. Areen and her work are both well-traveled, as she has been featured across European and American exhibitions. After spending some time in England and Sweden, she decided to move to an Arab country; as she represents the Arab identity through her art. After an enchanting visit to Dubai, Areen was awarded the Golden Visa by Dubai Culture. Fatima is a photographer and visual artist who loves to combine her work with the cultural aspects of Dubai. Growing up in a household that encouraged artistic expression, she discovered her love of photography and preserving precious moments through it. In this episode, Fatima shares with us how her late uncle, her family and the city have played pivotal roles in her journey, shaping the artist that she is today. Marwan Elhussien, AKA Marwan On The Moon is a multidisciplinary artist and art director, which he found unusual as he grew up in an all academic household, with both parents and sister being university professors.   In this episode, Marwan describes his and other artists’ interests as obsessions and not passions, and why. He also shared with us the spaces across the city of Dubai where he found his community. “Karak Chai” a term that roughly translates to “Strong Tea” is a UAE staple that was introduced by the Indian diaspora in the early 1960’s. Today, Karak Tea is widely available in almost every cafeteria in the UAE, yet what makes it truly special, is the social rituals that surround its consumption. Such social ritual has brought two great friends together to launch their own boutique Chai Cafe in 2017, which grew to become a critical chai-culture-contributor to the Dubai landscape known as Project Chaiwala. Ahmed and Justin are the children of the city whose love for Karak Chai has resulted in a journey of passion, self discovery, social enterprise, soul and the export of culture.
