When the world is in chaos, we tend to find something supernatural to provide answers. Think about the Covid 19 pandemic. Are we really hearing from God? What is he saying? Do we really hear from God or we just present a form of religiosity? King Belshazzar (Nebuchadnezzar’s grandson) had a party with his big rich friends, with wine served from vessels made of gold meant for the temple of God. It was blasphemy to use scared vessels. We see that God wasn’t pleased with Belshazzar’s actions and couldn’t even wait till the end of the party to make a grand entry. God showcased his displeasure in the form of a human hand that suddenly appeared in verse 5, leaving imprints on the wall real-time. That must have been an interesting scene. Like they stayed till the hand was done writing on the wall? Those people have some serious vim mehn. I would have booted in seconds. Would you have stayed to see it all pan out?

Verse 1 -4 We need to deepen our experience with God. When we seek to please God, he in turn shows himself to us. We get to know him in a deeper way as a result of our thirst for him. What an honour to be invited to partake in the kingdom of God. The greatest invitation we could have ever received. Sometimes we take this invitation for granted. It is greater than invitations from the Queen of England and the President of the United States combined.
