In this episode, Jessica and Joseph take a look at how people prayed in ancient days. People from times forgotten made gods out of forces of nature since they seemed powerful and threatening. They prayed to these gods in many different ways. Today we find a lot of those practices still being followed. Those religions may have died and been lost in the sands of time, but the practices of those religions have been incorporated into other religions, even the Church. Jessica and Joseph take a look at why we pray. Prayer has become such a dividing line in the church these days, with people breaking off into different camps. There camps of people who love to pray and camps of people who don't care to pray at all. Then there are people in between. They then look at what Jesus said about prayer, going back to Matthew 6 and the Lord's prayer. Was it meant to be an outline or a  prayer ready-made prayer from Jesus? Finally, they reflect on what this means for us.    

God as a word is so clichéd in the English language.  A lot of times we throw the word G-O-D around without understanding who we're talking about. In a country like India the word god can mean anything. In this episode we try to understand the character of God.  A. W. The episode starts with Jessica and Joseph talking about how they read their Bibles. Joseph explains how he got into a daily routine to ensure that he reads the bible from cover to cover. They then explore context in the bible, and how to understand the context of a passage. Jessica and Joseph try to deconstruct the Bible and look at why the Bible was written. The episode starts with Jessica and Joseph talking about why they read their Bibles. Jessica explains how she finds that though the Bible is an ancient book, it has life lessons that are applicable even today. Joseph goes off on a rabbit trail explaining how his grandpa got him into reading the Bible and how he developed a habit of reading the good book. Joseph then tries to deconstruct why the Bible was written and how we could then learn from the way that it was constructed to, read it in a nonlinear manner.
