SHOW NOTES
In this episode, we talk with:
Annie Hunziker Boyer, Branch Chief for Policy, Rulemaking and Engagement in the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Office of Chemical Security
And
Dr. Ashley Pennington, Chemical Engineer and Acting Section Chief, Planning and Coordination, Stakeholder Engagement Division Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
We explore how chemical security is a shared responsibility across government and private industry. Annie explains the implications of the loss of authorization of the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) regulation and how the lapsed CFATS regulation affects the chemical industry’s security resilience. Dr. Pennington’s work focuses on voluntary efforts and her remarks highlight the benefits and limitations of voluntary security efforts.
