Buku ini mengangkat tema perempuan muslimah di masa kini, terdiri dari kumpulan essay yang menarik untuk dijadikan bahan diskusi. Mungkin budaya patriarkisme masih kental sehingga perempuan masih dianggap tidak memiliki suara dan harus mengalah diatas kekuasaan laki-laki. Padahal sejatinya terdapat prinsip kesalingan (mubadaadalah) dan keadilan hakiki yang dimiliki baik perempuan maupun laki-laki. "Kita tidak bisa menghakimi amal seorang perempuan lebih banyak atau lebih sedikit dari kerudung yang ia pakai."

In this episode, we reviewed a book, namely "Sustenance of the Soul: The Cognitive Behavior Therapy of A Ninth Century Physician by Abu Zayd al-Balkhi." Such an amazing book due to the fact that it was published in the 9th century. Essentially, we discussed about (i) the symptoms and treatments of mental illness; (ii) the advice on preventive measures that the author shared in this book in order to return our body and soul to their natural healthy state; (iii) understanding the human condition and the medical nature of the human emotional state; (iv) the author insights on human psychopathology as well as diagnoses of psychological ailments including stress, depression, fear and anxiety together with their treatment by cognitive behavior therapy; and (v) most importantly, the incorporation of a greater dimension by including the soul and the worship of God.

In this book, Phil Knight is brutally honest about the extreme difficulties they had to overcome. An amazing narrative with the sensibilities and powers of observation of a poet and the convictions of a convert warrior who had deeply internalized a vision of Islam. Very recommended book!
