Strip the Sound

Today's podcast will be longer for the return of the strip the sound! Join Jeo in her return as we talk about the 'rona, the political division, defunding the police and community led-policing. With her criminology background, she provides a bridge between the radical idea that is to defund the police, and community-led policing and the crime prevention through social development ; these ideas are so close, the issue could stem from the question, "Who is the recipient of the city funding?" For the past 5-years, the city budget towards police department is disproportionate to the funding toward healthcare, or education. When will there be compromise? What do you think? Strip the sound is coming back and it's stronger than ever.  If you have any suggestions, let me know. For now, I'll be continuing these types "p*litical" from the perspective of an office worker with a Criminology background.  The rest of the season will focus on surviving versus thriving.

21 days to form a habit, 90 days to form a lifestyle. You have seen this tag around but have you every wondered the rate of successful of this mantra? I have too, unfortunately there aren't a lot of scientific study. A book that did have amazing lifestyle skills was "7 Habit of Highly Effective People," by Covey. The micro and macro lenses are tools that would allow a bigger scope of your habits. Its the smallest trick that has changed my ability to move on and be persistent when procrastination is around the corner.  Let me know your journey!

24.06.2019 I lost my grandma today. Although our family saw it coming, the day she passed hurts the most.  Our podcast today highlights the pain of losing someone and the grief that comes with it. I shared about the two events of death that's deprived from Mexican or  El Salvadorian culture, the beautiful piece that shaped my view on death.  And the brief story of an amazing  grandma that immigrated to the Western world in hopes to escape the cycle of poverty. She was a great mother to all of us. She was an amazing woman.

17.06.2019 What are the aspects, the paths and the results towards sexiness? This persistent chase towards success is based on the competitive nature of the social media landscape.  The social media platform has generated a lifestyle to consistently perform the act of being attractive,  talented,  interesting, and hot, all at the same time.  And people had thrived on this pattern for years in the entertainment industry, but why is it that when youth mimic the traits of being sexy, it's looked down upon? When sexual assault occurs to youth deemed sexy, why does our response change? Why is the current pattern focus on blaming the youth rather than shifting that gaze to the approacher? Criticize the approacher instead of the approached?  The traits of a hot person can be defined by anyone. But the level of harm defined is set by the attacker. It's interesting to easily identify what is hot or not but we struggle on defining the behaviours that are predatory.  Welcome to the Strip the Sounds, today we will be talking about the fear of being sexy.

06.10.2019  Today, I talk about the corporate life and the use of worker isolation within the corporate environment. I could definitely be biased based on my frontline work with youth, but I want growth. Growth cannot be sustained without understand the nexus of both internal and external factors.
