On this episode of Take 3, we're joined again by Michael Lisse and Derek Tiffany to hear their fresh insights from the Consensus Blockchain Summit in New York City. Michael and Derek had joined us prior to the summit to discuss how blockchain has evolved since its onset and how it has influenced the financial industry. Michael talked about what he was expected and hoping to see from the Summit, and Derek looked at the impact of blockchain from a technical perspective. For this episode, they have both come back into the studio for a debrief on Consensus, a look at the way blockchain has shifted industry focus beyond the financial, and a discussion around the evolution of blockchain and what the future of this might look like.

Michael Lisse and Derek Tiffany join us in the studio for this episode of Take 3 to talk about the influence and evolution of blockchain in the financial industry and beyond. Michael joins us ahead of the Consensus Summit in New York City, which is a conference dedicated to blockchain technology and what is happening in the blockchain industry. Blockchain is a secure distributed ledger database that is used and shared by all nodes, or blocks, in the blockchain network. Information that is stored and distributed through the blockchain network is completely secure and cannot be retroactively altered. All of the nodes, or blocks, run on the same software and continuously talk to each other to validate it.

On this episode of Take 3, we dive into the concept of Minimizing Time to Value with Andy Zipfel and Paul Doman, two members of 3Pillar's Client Services' Media team. Minimizing Time to Value is a core tenet of 3Pillar's Product Mindset, which guides the way our development teams think and work. The Product Mindset is made up of three tenets: Build for Outcomes, Excel at Change, and Minimizing Time to Value. Minimizing Time to Value is the process of finding the shortest path to value when developing digital software products.

Derek Tiffany and Huagen Peng join us for this episode of Take 3 to talk us through the process of building a serverless architecture, and why this can be a smart business move. Having a serverless architecture means that developers can still build and run applications and services without the infrastructure management. Instead, all of the servers and server management are done through a third party host. This not only cuts down on storage costs, but also on time and personnel spent managing servers for applications, databases, and storage systems.

This episode of 'Take 3' takes us to Austin, Texas ahead of SXSW 2017, the annual tech conference which runs from March 10 to March 19 this year. Seyla Seng and Will Sherlin join us to talk about their upcoming trip to SXSW 2017, including what they're hoping to get out of the event and information on some of the talks they'll be attending during the week. Seyla and Will will be in Austin for the Interactive portion of the conference, which runs from March 10-14. In addition to soaking up talks, in true SXSW form the pair will be covering what they're seeing at the conference from a variety of angles.
