Sound Bite of the Week:
Titans signings:
Titans lost:
Chris Johnson murder for hire - TMZ reported that he hired someone to kill gang member that targeted him
Jadaveon Clowney - Titans are still in the hunt; Jon Robinson said that Clowney and Logan Ryan are in discussions
CB Logan Ryan still not signed
Rumor: NFL considering shortening the 2020 season and/or playing in empty or partially filled stadiums
Stupid Question of the Week
Is there one player still on the free agent market that will put the Titans over the top for a Super Bowl run?

Sound Bite of the Week: Taylor Lewan on Tornado Relief for Nashville
Tom Brady linked to the Titans
Ryan Tannehill will probably test free agency
Jack Conklin will probably test free agency
My Take On Marcus Mariota’s season:
Week 1 (Browns W): 14/24 248 yds 3 TDS - passes seem tentative; able to find talented receivers; return of Delanie Walker; sacked 4 times
Week 2 (Colts L): 19/28 154 yds 1 TD - crisper passing, but wants to make every pass so precise he doesn’t use enough zip; fumbling returns; doesn’t make decisions quick enough; still throws too high in crucial moments; sacked 4 times
Week 3 (Jaguars L): 23/50 304 yds - throws too often in an open stance; doesn’t drive the ball; doesn’t read the blitz well; under throws the long ball; doesn’t trust his arm to make the throws needed; more fumbling; seems to have forgotten how to find running lanes when under pressure; sacked 9 times
Week 4 (Falcons W): 18/27 227 yds 3 TDS - when throwing to AJ Brown, drives the ball; still throws too often with an open stance; receivers saved questionable throws; not sacked
Week 5 (Bills L): 13/22 183 yds - still struggling with throwing when being blitzed; doesn’t make good decisions; just doesn’t trust himself or the offensive scheme; sacked 5 times
Week 6 (Broncos L): 7/18 63 yds 2 int - looks extremely uncomfortable running this offense; lacks good decision making under pressure; sacked 5 times
Summary: not confident in the system nor with his abilities; unable to show off his running due to indecision; the offensive line didn’t solidify until after he was benched; could have been 6-0 if he would have been the right QB; does his “niceness” give him a lack of a killer instinct?
Stupid Question of the Week
If Tom Brady becomes the Titans QB, is it a huge fail if the Titans don’t make the Super Bowl?

Subject: What a SeasonGood Day MichaelThis is Tommy from Atlanta. This season is what a true Titans fans could ask for. Even though we didn’t make it to the big dance, I will admit that I’m so proud of the effort they provided. With all the free agents we have, J. Rob has his work cut out for him. Is it just me or is Corey Davis is having the same career as Marcus? Each year we have these big hopes for him or we are making excuses on why his production is low. Like Mariota he just may not be in the right system to display his talent. My Question to you, If the Titans only have 1 choice to resign either Henry or Tannehill, which one should they choose and why.

Titans travel to Kansas City - Why Not Us?
Ryan Tannehill has comparable stats to Mahones
Completion %: 66.8 v. 65.9
Yds/Att: 9.2 v. 8.4
TDs: 25 v. 31
INT: 7 v. 5
QBR: 114.8 v. 107.8
Henry has more yards after contact than any other player has rushing yards
Andy Reid is 1-8 v. Titans
Although there are some converts to the Titans, most people are still dismissing the season the Titans have had and are once again saying that this is the end of the line
Can this possibly be a revenge game for the Chiefs?
The secondary for the Titans allow WR catches early, but always deliver big hits. This leads to late game drops and going down before getting hit and not picking up the extra yards; the Chiefs have some of the smallest WRs in the league
Chiefs will get their yardage, but scoring TDs is the name of the game.
Will Ryan Tannehill’s lack of action make him “rusty”?

Subject: We Won!Did we win? you sureI always had faith at 17-7 as the Colts are garbage but hey its the Colts so I guessed we could find a way to lose and yes we did try. With Jacoby Brissett signed on till 2020 so you expect the Colts to try draft a QB to start in 2020 or 2021, I would love Jacoby Brissett to stick around for a few years and the Titans get a real run on wins against the ColtsDo you think the Patriots are having the worst 10- 2 year in the last decade, yes a good defense but wow the offense is useless.Yes to Brady in 2020 for the laughs just not at the TitansJames Stark

Raiders #24 vs. the pass, and #11 vs. the run
Let’s get real: Titans current hot streak

Hello from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada! I love the podcast and absolutely love the Titans! Derrick Henry is a beast and I can’t wait to see him run all over the Colts! I think the playoffs are a real possibility this season, but after that, the Titans are going to have to make several cap decisions. I think the Titans will absolutely resign Henry and let Mariota walk away, but are there any players you see as someone the Titans will let walk away that might be a shock to the rest of the fans? Thanks,Devin

Free Agent next season
Was only a $4.1M hit to the cap in 2019, but is it worth a resigning
Value for 2020 is around $3.5M

Confusing game plan
Forcing Dion Lewis into a gameplan when Derrick Henry should get more carries
Not involving playmakers enough
Emphasizing weaknesses and avoids using strengths
Take 1: Running Game
Please stop trying to use Dion Lewis more than 10% in the running game. It just isn’t working.
Be more creative in the running game. Come to the line with more than one run ready, and then let the QB make the call according to the setup of the defense.
Too often running the ball into a stacked front
Take 2: Passing Game
Some recent positives are overshadowed by inconsistent play
Corey Davis acts like he wants to be the “one”, but tends to disappear from the plan
Did we pay Adam Humphries big bucks to catch punts?
Take 3: Coaching
No true concept of time management during a game
Not properly managing the coaching staff (Keith Carter - ruining a top 5 offensive line)
Coaching to a plan and the skills we don’t have, and not using the skills we do

“Intense Chargers Game”Hi Michael,This is Tommy from Chattanooga which moved to Atlanta. The game with the Chargers was very intense. Ryan Tannehill looked very concise and confident. I haven’t felt “NOT” nerves about this offense in a long time. It seems that we truly played complementary football. All I can say about Jeffery Simmons is “WOW he’s a beast”.I have 2 questions and love to hear your responses. 1. Is it too early to step on the Tannehill train?2. I feel that the offense is still a little shaky; could it be the offensive coordinator in experiences or are we seeing Mike Vrabel shortcomings.Keep up the good work!!!!Tommy

Soundbite of the week - Marcus Mariota
1st round draft pick Jeffery Simmons started practicing this week. Might be ready for Sunday, but will most likely see limited action if playing.
With the benching of Mariota, is his future over in TN? What team will sign him (Dolphins, Buccaneers, Patriots, Chargers, Bengals, Steelers)
Who is at fault?
Offensive Line - Lewan suspension; finding a RG (Pamphile, Douglas, Davis); lead the league in negative plays; 10 - False Starts (#3 in the NFL), 9 - Holding (#12 in the NFL); Keith Carter - is he ruining this line?
Arthur Smith - no creativity in play calling; lacks a sense of when to call the screen pass; doesn’t stick with the run; over-thinks the opening drive play-calling
Mariota - 2nd guessing all decisions; too concerned about sticking with a play even though it’s not working; can’t find open receivers if they aren’t the first 2 reads; poor pocket presence; scrambles out of the pocket right into oncoming rushers
Wide Receivers - No consistent separation from top players; Davis (drafted #5 overall), Humphries, Sharpe are all disappointing; only Brown is having a good season
Mike Vrabel - poor clock management skills; too much confidence in an unproven coordinator and not enough in the starting QB; defensive-minded to a fault; doesn’t appear to have the skillset to fix the problem;
Officials - penalties are WAY up in the league; no clear-cut way of reading an official’s style; the entire league is on their heals trying to understand the interpretation of the new rules
Fans Expectations - Yes, Mariota is a #2 overall pick and should lead this team, but with the # of coordinators, # of hits taken, injuries, and a steadily worsening offensive line, we might want to give the guy a break

If Tannehill struggles in a similar fashion, do you go back to Mariota?
