WATCH PODCAST HERE:
Our one and only guest (The best guest this week!) Business Thinker, Keynote Speaker, Author ("Change from the Inside Out"), Founding Partner of Proteus International, Erika Andersen has delighted audiences with talks on leadership, change, and how to support a business and its employees through changing circumstances. Erika has worked with groups from NBCUniversal, Facebook, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, GE, Hulu, and Madison Square Garden, among many others! This week she has joined us on the show to talk about changing settings in a business environment. "We really need to rewire ourselves to live well in this new century.” How many technological advancements have come about since just the year 2000? How many social changes have there been?
We discuss how change can be frightening - In the past, change has usually meant disaster of some sort or other. 'No news is good news,' as an old adage goes. Erika has some great strategies and tips to share about how to make the process of moving into the future easier and all around more pleasant for management, clients, and employees.

WATCH PODCAST HERE:
From the dawn of machine learning comes Tr-AI-tify, which has merged with and become Paradox Olivia. Co-founder Josh Spears joins us for the first part of today's show, to talk about AI's place in helping recruitment become easier, smarter, and less effort than ever. Paradox Olivia is a business and project of love, looking to remove the tedious parts of recruiting that can bog up recruiter's time, rather than helping them to get to know potential hires for a company. Josh talks about how much easier it can be to move the managerial paperwork away from manual data entry and into the world of automation by letting AI cover the mundane details, such as scheduling, answering and helping fill out applications, screening, and one of the best factors: It's at work all the time, at potential hire's convenience.
Following that ins-AI-tful conversation is guest Salomé Trambach. Multilingual, multicultural, and multitalented, Salomé is a leadership coach that seeks to help others develop their leadership and personal lives in healthy ways. She offers talks involving self-awareness, self-mastery, connection to others, being authentic, and all the subjects connected to becoming a more well-rounded leader. In the second half of our show, we cover topics about how and when to become authentic by showing vulnerability, sharing, and knowing when to do so. Salomé cautions against sharing too much, at times, or at the wrong moment, but points out some great ideas, such as: "If you want people to be honest, vulnerable, and share opinions, it has to start with you first.”

Enter stage left: Glenn Gow, 'The CEO Therapist", Harvard MBA graduate, venture capitalist, Board-level AI expert, and a CEO who's worked with Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and more. Glenn is on the show today as a solo guest. As pointed out by our guest, mistakes in business can be very, very expensive. Working hard on growing and adapting to an ever-changing world (technologically, socially, logistically) can help a CEO or business owner to navigate through hard choices and lead them to success. There's a balance to be found between being successful and being happy. Glenn tries to help CEOs achieve that balance in order to grow their business, getting them out of their comfort zone in order to find the path to bigger and better opportunities.

Before we get into the guests, in the spirit of the holiday just passed, we wished to thank all of our amazing viewers and listeners for joining us with Talent Talk! Without the audience and wonderful guests, the show wouldn't be anywhere near what it is today.
That being written, our first guest this episode is Jeremie Kubicek! Jeremie is the CEO of GiANT, a consultation firm which specializes in giving leadership consultants all the tools and knowledge needed to guide businesses into a greater chance for success. He's also the best-selling author of "The 100x Leader: How to Become Someone Worth Following". Jeremie has some thoughts to share about climbing Mt. Everest, how to support those that work with you, and how to make sure they have all the support and tools they need. This may mean shifting expectations and tools to keep up with evolving and changing mindsets!
In the latter half of the show, we're joined by one Paul Hargreaves. Paul is the CEO and founder of Cotswold Fayre, speaker and a B-Corp Ambassador. In his book, The Fourth Bottom Line, he talks about the rise of compassionate, loving leaders and how that can help nurture and engage talent. As Paul says, “Business has been more about taking stuff from people and squeezing as much as possible out of people working for us, suppliers, the earth… and it’s been damaging.” With good leadership and a supportive business, that fact can be changed and the world made all the better for it. Through trusting people, inundating work with more fun, and giving everyone a chance to make a difference, compassionate leadership can effect positive change.

WATCH PODCAST HERE:
Today, Jenn Lim has taken up the mantle for the first half of the show! Jenn is Co-Founder, CEO and Chief Happiness Officer at Delivering Happiness and Author of "Beyond Happiness". There's a certain boon that's unquantifiable about being happy with what you're doing, in work or otherwise. Sure, we all have chores and things we don't like to do, but when we can really study what makes us happier - be it a good challenge, brain-teaser, working in a team, or finding purpose in tasks - we can improve outcomes and move the status quo to be more positive. Jenn has some great insights into how to do so with introspection, by studying the highs and lows of our experiences.
In the second half of the show, Donato Tramuto discusses empathy, compassion, and how showing vulnerability when appropriate may be a great tool for leaders. Donato is author of The "Double Bottom Line: How Compassionate Leaders Captivate Hearts and Deliver Results" (Available March 1, 2022), and founder of the Tamuto Foundation. Through previous life experiences, and troubles like many of us have (in different forms), Donato shares some thoughts about how empathy can help build trust between leaders and team members. The more people can connect and trust one another, the easier success can become!

WATCH PODCAST HERE:
Eric Harkins has graciously joined the ranks of TalentTalk guests in the first half of today's show! Eric is the Founder & President of GKG Search & Consulting, and Forbes Books author of "Great Leaders Make Sure Monday Morning Doesn’t Suck". We discuss workplace culture. Specifically, how a bad culture can drive people away, and how to avoid that by constantly checking in on performance and dealing with issues as they come up. Is there one person on a team that doesn't pull their weight, or causes troubles for their co-workers? Sometimes it can be worthwhile to deal with that one early, rather than lose everyone or suffer losses because of it. As Eric eloquently put it: "Lesson #1: It’s ok to have fun at work. #2: Poor performing employees don't quit voluntarily. #3: *ssholes are *ssholes. They don’t change."
Doctor Robert Flower checked in for the second half of the show. Dr. Flower is an entrepreneur, consultant, Executive Director at the Gilchrist Institute for the Achievement Sciences, author of "Decoding the Holy Grail and the Discovery of the Potential Molecule", among 10 other books on leadership and unlocking potential. During the segment, we discussed the restrictors - The four basic things that hold people back from their potential, how people function in their work and general life, and how to focus in order to achieve success. Understand the process and results will follow!

Britney Cole and Simon Mainwaring 10/26/2021
Episode in
Talent Talk
Looking for more than audio? Watch below on Youtube.
WATCH PODCAST HERE:
Joining us first for the spookiest show of the year is Britney Cole! Britney is a Vice President of Solution Architecture and Innovation at The Ken Blanchard Companies, and Co-Founder of Bolster Leadership. Bolster Leadership is a company that develops strategies to promote learning organizations, where cultures can form where everyone sees themselves as a leader with the capabilities to succeed in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and/or ambiguous environment. Britney joined us to talk about the work-life balance and how to have better days at work. This can include talking to your team about any problems they have at home, promoting time management skills, and how to keep challenged and happy at work without facing the rigors of burning yourself out. Time with the family and friends where work doesn't happen because your phone is off can be a very good thing!
In the second half, Simon Mainwaring has some very interesting insights to share about how to form the purpose of an organization. Simon is the Founder and CEO of We First, a company specializing in consulting to accelerate growth and impact for purpose-driven brands. He's also a member of the Steering Committee of Sustainable Brands, the Forbes Business Council, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and author of "Lead With We: The Business Revolution That Will Save Our Future". Simon shares some thoughts about purpose in business; the purpose of a business should be the base of everything they do, and should be critical to any decision the company makes at all levels. There's room for people not at the top, if given a chance, to build consensus internally and help the business under their own initiative, with ideas that might not occur to others.

Bob is a leading authority on employee recognition, motivation, and engagement with his company for nearly twenty five years. In the first half of the show we're talking all about how to engage workers with simple things like recognition and saying 'thank you'. Dr. Bob has some great statistics on how employees expect and want to be treated, and shows that just showing some of the basic niceties can help bring in and retain talent without costing your company a dime extra!
Roberta Matuson, "The Talent Maximizer", Global Executive Coach, Public Speaker, author of "Can We Talk?: Seven Principles for Managing Difficult Conversations at Work", and Strategic Advisor on Talent kindly joins us for the second half of the show! Roberta has been working with companies to help retain key employees for nearly twenty five years. She's written five other books all about management, becoming a good leader, and connecting with others in the workplace. Today she's on the show to talk with us about preparing for difficult conversations in work. This involves taking short notes, how to listen rather than thinking of what we'll say next, and how to broach those conversations rather than hiding issues or avoiding confrontation.

Back before HR degrees were possible, being in the 'Personnel Department' was the next best thing! She shares a number of stories of her experiences in HR, the reason to become an entrepreneur, and the work-life balance. As Jill said about starting her own company with Assemble HR, "I kept walking to the edge of the cliff and saying 'I want to try this!' and I'm too scared, and I went back to my desk." That fear was pushed aside to make more time for family, be healthier, and happier. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to get too far into Jill's incredible career, but hopefully there will be a repeat performance!

WATCH PODCAST HERE:
Shauna Moran speaks with us in the first half of today's show! Shauna has great insights into how teams come together with emotional intelligence. That includes psychological stability, emotional awareness, dealing with burnout and stress, and setting boundaries. It's important to have data from your team and to ask what they might need from you, as a leader. What might help them along in learning and growing? Shauna is an award-winning Executive Coach, founder of Operate Remote, and a coach for Up With Women.
Following is Jonathan Brill: Public Speaker, Author of "Rogue Waves", Innovation Executive, Board Advisor - managing director at Resilient Growth Partners and a board member at Frost & Sullivan. Jonathan has some brilliant ideas about how to bring executive-level decision making strategies into the rest of a business. This is to let employees, who may see things in different ways or have access to information that management doesn't, help drive innovation and change down the line when a company needs it most. Diversity and thinking about the long term future can help greatly to make big shifts (Such as during a global pandemic.) Amazon and Zoom are great examples!
